I was on my back porch playing this one. Jamming with my Henny. The officer pulled up got out the car and started dancing. He said your neighbors called on you winked and drove away. RIP Mr Preston💐🤗

Those who say that Billy is NOT underrated must have been living under a rock during the 60s70s. Billy never got the recognition he deserved. This guy can play toe to toe with the great Stevie and he's definitely way better than Elton or the other Billy (Joel).

An all-time funk classic. One of the most under-rated and complex bass lines ever in modern music. Not just a rhythmic lower fill but a countermelody that meshes perfectly with the clavinet. The genre of funk never gets the credit it deserves.

Back in the AV dept in high school, we found that an endless loop answering machine tape fit perfectly to the beat, allowing us to hear a non stop rendition of this all day. Yeah, we were the nerds before the computer stole our thunder.

Billy Preston is in the Top 3 soul/funk artists of all time. THE greatest soul/R@B keyboard player of all time.
Such a fleeting career with all of his other issues, but good god he recorded some amazing music in his prime.

This Black Music Month in 2023 I celebrate this Man, Billy Preston. In late summer of 2004 or 2005 after his performance at The Tastefest in Detroit Michigan (where he played as it rained too) I spoke with him. He was very kind to me as we conversed.

yes definitely underrated as a musician, Billy was a prodigy, he was a BAAAD Man on those keyboards, one of the most sought after studio, and side man ever in his time people really don't realize how cold this dude was. he was a monster on keyboards , probably on the level of such genius's as Oscar Peterson , Eric Clapton said of Billy "one of the best keyboardist on the planet .

I remember the Range NCOIC turned up the speakers so we could hear the music playing and this song was playing. I had not heard music since the I arrived on Parris Island.
