@@uncomfortableshirt no, it most certainly isn't resolved. By definition, that harmonic progression that Cory played is unresolved in a harmonic sense.
The Ending progression was Melvin's Signature Chord progression move that he recorded with James Hall; which is popular in gospel music circles. Cory played Melvins sigutuare move as the ending..that's why he was overcome by emotion at the end.
Charles Stevenson Nice obervation! I didn’t even think about that, hahah. That just goes to show how talented Cory Henry is implementing it in the end.

Usually most people need extras like sound effect, choirs, or more instruments to make it full and feel complete. because there is so much space to be fulfilled: skills, emotions, honesty, message of the songs, etc. That goal, in my opinion, is what every musician should reach. Cory got it. Cory nailed it. A very big props to you.*standing ovation Also, shout out to every musicians in the world who always want to present their art with honesty. The eye and ear contact of both musicians was impeccable, their boom, boom, bap cadence infectious and carried the melody to a different realm, would love to see Hezekiah Walker somehow insert this tribute to Melvin onto one of his tracks
Playing the organ like that is a true God's gift.....
ABSOLUTELY
Yessir
No, it's years and years and years of dedicated practice.
I've stopped count how many times I've watched this. What can you say about Cory Henry that hasn't been said before? This man is truly touched by God. Shout out to the drummer too. What a tribute. Rip Melvin Crispell.
I’ve lost count too!
This guy is the most underrated talent in history. See how humbled he looked. God willing in the nearest future, when technology, creativity and content creation increases this video will resurface.
God bless this organist for such a dedication to his art. I wonder what his motivation was🤔
Let's not forget the person on the percussion.
Playing like he should. Most people wont even know he was there! Everyone's talking about the drummers pocket but man his was crazy!
Silent jammer
Both of them are actually playing percussion instruments😉🤫😎👍🏿
Man
Thanks you !
I thought i was the only non-normal focused by the way the percussionniste was playing.
Oh lord ... See how he uses the shake for the breakdown.
@@Cjbarnes56 not trying to be stupid here, I genuinely don't know. Where is the percussionist?
The sweetest part 3:39. I played it over and over again.
nukeman444 exactlyyyyyy
Like HEARING a rainbow
That's what absolute mastery looks, sounds and feels like.
He loved his mentor so much.
Needed to add some lift to my day... came here to watch this.... again.... for about the 50th time. ✌🙏
I discovered this video 3 years ago and must have watched it 100 times or more (I can't stop!!!), Corey's hands have been blessed by God, there is no other explanation......he is straight FIRE!!!!!!!!!
What is remarkable in this black congregation is the level of musical involvement you see here. Cory is burrowing into their very soul and letting their inner voice sing with joy. Such a special moment to witness. Truly by the grace of God we have talent like this we can experience.
Just here for my daily listen. Y’all be blessed!
I watch this video whenever I need a spiritual reset... which is pretty much daily
Everytime i come back to this performance i get the chills!!!!
Absolutely out of this world! 🙏🙌
Ok, I'm gonna make a long comment for this.
I'm very grateful that I'm still alive, becoming one of millions of people who watch and listen to this, and still have a chance to witness this. Very skillful, with lots of soul and emotions, well crafted, the message of the music is well delivered even though it's just instrumental. Call me whiny, but I'm teary (tears of joy, for sure) watching this, and still feel the same even though I watch this like thousand times. To Taylor Mesple, thank you for uploading this. :D
Making music sounds so rich and complete in a very pocket way is not everybody's thing, especially using only one or two instrument. A very big props to you.*standing ovation
Also, shout out to every musicians in the world who always want to present their art with honesty. You'll be surprised by listener's reaction when you present your art with honesty in it. :D
I’m still playing this everyday!
Same here. Daily dose of this piece of art!
perhaps the finest of all time man.. Cory is really not joking around music. He's a hero. A gifted person in so many ways.
It's 12/21 and This anointed Ministry by Mr Korey is Still Elevating to Remember that Almighty God That His Name Is Wonderful in the Face of COVID Omicron.

I love how the crowd responds to every musical flash. The crowd understood and loved the tastefulness of all that spice.
Drummer is a beast! We know Cory has chops but that drummer has to get props for stupid pocket
I can’t stop watching this...how I would’ve loved to see this live! This video plays in my head even when I’m not watching.

He’s like a super- hero on that instrument! So many moments took my breath away!

Still?
June 2nd, 2020... During the riots.. And This is still comforting 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This whole performance is fantastic, but the bit at 0:53 just really gets to me. Everybody getting into it, what a great energy. Fantastic tribute.
yeah he plays softer but opens up the sustain and floats it in and everyone just lifts as the room changes.......incredible stuff
This drummer is disciplined
That is what makes great moving music...being disciplined and 'in touch' with playing the organ.
Purely gifted by God !
I can't take credit for this but someone wrote ~ "On the 8th day, God created the Hammond Organ.." YES SIR! Awesome job Cory!!
LOL, I thought you were gonna say, "On the 8th day, God created Cory Henry, seated at a Hammond organ." :-)
reminds me of a variation I heard in a Pentecostal church once, "the Holy Spirit can't move until the Leslie speaker starts to rotate..."
Mad love from Sydney, Aus. I bump this nearly everyday..My soul on a another level when I listen to this.
I too watch it everyday to remind me every day HERE is a blessing!!!!
I have a quality pair of headphones and the sound is great. But I can only imagine what you hear when you’re in the same space. I like looking at the expressions of the folks there. The shaking of their heads. The arm folding. The smiles. The standing. The staring.
I stumbled upon this today on the day I was in need of this and I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes Praising God!!!
i never heard a organ sound like that , he powerful,
3:26 the guy at the back was like: Oh stop it Cory 😂
You get the sense that the crowd appreciates Cory's playing....
The crowd full of musicians. Melvin Crispell was a legend in gospel music and had so many influences on what is played today
marquita dunn yes!
I love how they respond to those musical flashes of genius.
Yeah. Just a lil bit... lol
I listen to this video at least 5 times a day and it never gets old
Cory Henry is one of the very few performers that can make you burst out in a huge smile as he plays with your sensibilities and injects humor into music by teasing us with his sophisticated yet coy at times, chord progressions. An artist on a plateau few of us ever walk on, but thankfully, we all can appreciate.
This man’s gift brings you into revelation of the word of God… Mercy, Mercy , Mercy… heaven comes down when he plays..
