      @@TheNotedAnatomist I agree, this video is of course very basic and will not be enough but some of your points really help shed new light on some of the tissue types and things definitely make more sense now. I'll be sure to check out the Histology Wizard.

    Thank you from a drowning first year vet student 😅. The more I study the body the more I doubt evolution. Its a magnificent system with a delicate balance

    • @Pentenemy
      @Pentenemy 11 місяців тому

      When you have millions (thousands upon thousands) (hundreds upon hundreds) of years to build up the basic systems and put them together, then threaten to kill and eat those who can't, evolution is a very readily understandable reasoning. It has been demonstrated and reproduced in lab conditions with bacteria and fruit flies.
      Tldr the human brain cannot understand just how long our lineage is.

    • @completeandabsolutenerd

      Odd that more studying leads to less faith in evolution, to me it's backwards! I think of how we evolved to be the way we are now!

    Takes me back a long way. My first ever job, I started in 1965, was as a histology technician at the Central Veterinary Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food at Weybridge in the UK. I prepared many thousands of H&Es. I made a personal collection of slides, sadly they got lost during a move to Portugal. We also did other stains for research and diagnosis, including Ziehl-Neelsen, Gram, Perl's Prussian blue, Papanicolaou, Mann's Methyl Blue Eosin etc.

    Great video. My dad diagnosed cancer by reading pap smears. He had a few inventions too. One was a slide with lines and the other was an eye piece that allowed the user to look straight instead of down into the microscope.
    He was working on a cancer test that detected cancer long before other methods using a finger stick, silver nitrate and few other things. Sadly he did not have much follow through.
    This is a great way to see what my dad saw when he looked into a scope. 😊
