    I find your video much more encouraging than the artsy Bibles where they have a single verse highlighted on a page with the whole rest of the page - including the words - decorated. Yours is Bible study at its finest. The others are just using a Bible as a foundation for decorations. I know my opinion is unpopular, but it is what it is.

      How do you know that others are using it for a foundation for decorations? Everyone has their own way of studying. You don’t know what God may have told them, and why their pages look like that. Don’t judge. Someone could look at THIS video and say the same things about how she “decorated” her Bible

    Art journaling is a beautiful expression that is therapeutic, and washes the soul. It is however, aesthetic in nature. Exegesis of scripture, on the other hand, is digging out deep spritual truth from God's expressed will. The Bible then becomes food for the soul.

    Thank you for sharing this! I like that you still have some color and notes, but it's not super crazy with all the creative stuff. Not that there isn't a place for it, but that's just too much for me and then I'm not focusing on the Word anymore. LOL!

    I’m so glad I stumbled across your channel. I also am a big note taker in my Bible. I have done flip outs for my notes but never thought of the vellum. What an amazing idea. Thank you for an excellent video with wonderful ideas to incorporate into my study.
    As I watched until the end, I really hope that you do more videos on your studies. I to like to dive in deep to the history of the Bible as I feel it gives more meaning and understanding to scripture. I’m currently working on a double bachelors degree and I have taken several Bible classes with my favorite being the Old Testament. I have several books I can recommend if you like diving into research like I do. I would love to see a variety on your channel with lessons, art work, supplies used, and so forth. If you decide to make videos on your lessons, it would be amazing for you to do it on a specific day of the week, like Saturday for example. Anyway, I’m excited to see your content and where you take it. 😊

    Thank you for walking through your process for bible journaling. I've been struggling with "my" format. I also take alot of notes, and I like to get creative, but the creative part if minimal. My free time is limited, so when I have large chunks of free time, I study the bible. One day when I'm retired and I have more free time, I will definitely dive more into the art part of the journaling. I do enjoy both. I've been buying the scripture notebooks so that I have lots of room for notes and creativity. However, I love your interleaved process.

    I love that you have discovered and shared that knowing the context of the Old Testament gives great insight to understanding the New Testament. I think we learn only the basic stories as we grow up in the church, but don’t really dig into the Word to put it all together. The books of the Law are really difficult to get through but when you keep going you do have a much better understanding of the whole story.

    I really like how you take notes in your Bible. There’s a couple of color-code systems I like but can’t make my mind up on a single one to use/. I should probably just try one for a few months and then switch and do another to see which one is more useful. I have a single column NKJV journaling Bible so my space is a bit more limited. But I do use transparent sticky notes when I run out of writing space.

Please understand, when this young lady notes, draws and adds pictures and important information to her book, she is interacting with God’s word. Acctually, all of them are considered by society of low morals, Ruth being a Moabite and Mary getting pregnant before having husband. He pointed out those specific women, because of their faith. They all have proven obedience to God. I thought it might interest you. God bless

    God bless you, I would love a Spanish Bible with the blank pages for my notes. Any idea where can I get one. I do have the one with the large margin on the side and another one with the large margin in the middle. I goggle it but couldn’t find one 😢

      I’m not sure. You could try ChristianBooks.com if Google has been unsuccessful. That’s a very large resource for Bibles and study materials, and I know they have a section for Spanish language books and Bibles.

    I enjoyed but new so was a little lost on where you got context was it from your 52 weeks book? Like difference in Pharisee & Sadducee was just a Google search. Or finding out more about Hagar.

    • @itscassburton
      @itscassburton  10 місяців тому

      I use an ESV Study Bible in addition to the journaling one, and that has a lot of good information in there. Then I will use Google for the things I’m extra curious about (I did this for Hagar and the Pharisees v Sadducees)

      It comes from My Abiding Journal's UA-cam. She has the link to her Patreon so I'm not sure if I linked it whether it would work.

      Have you heard of Virtual Pen Show, on IG I believe. That could be a good place to start. I haven’t had much luck with the Facebook groups, but I know people will buy second-hand from there!

    Can you explain context notes?

    • @itscassburton
      @itscassburton  11 місяців тому +1

      I’m typically trying to find what was going on with the culture, or the politics if I’m looking for context. Then it can help me understand why the passage would read a certain way. I have found that any of the letters of Paul to be good beginning places for trying to understand the politics.

    2 questions. Which Bible is the one here and did you insert each blank sheet between the pages or did the Bible come this way?

    • @itscassburton
      @itscassburton  10 місяців тому

      This is the NKJV Interleaved Bible, so this comes with a blank page between each page

      Depending on which one you like and what you’re expecting to get out of it. The Canon is pretty good for small wallet size photos but don’t expect great detail. And the Pooli is printed on thermal receipt paper so it can be very grainy.
