I found myself in your words. I remembered my husband saying that, “You are just doing this to show that you are smarter than everyone else.” That hurt. Truthfully he was just voicing that I was making him feel inadequate. I was not studying for my own understanding of my relationship with God’s word. In my zeal, I found myself voicing a humble brag of what I had learned that day. God had to reel me back.
Wow Thankyou so much for sharing and being so vulnerable! ❤ it isn’t the best feeling when we realize we were doing something with the wrong motives or falling into sinful patterns but God is so good to guide us back to the right path and forgive us every time ❤ I’m proud of you aswell❤
I honestly don’t think talking about what you learned in the Bible was a brag. I look at it like you were excited to share the knew things you’ve learned about God. It should be a motivation for him.
@@blessed933Well if they say they were saying it with a humble brag it means they were.I understand your perspective but when someone is convicted it means that was in the root of their heart.
Humblebragging is what 99% of this kind of stuff is. The Pinterest perfect posts of their Bibles all written in, pictures of themselves with their heads covered, "prayer closets" (people seem to forget the whole point of the verse that inspired those 🙄🤦♀️), etc. Sharing what you learn and glean from the Word is one thing but...idk...a lot of what we see, especially online, reminds me of the ones we are warned about and told not to be like in the Bible. Just my two cents.
I have a wide margin Bible, but I don't journal. But, when God does speak to me thru a verse, I underline the verse, write the date and a note about what God spoke to me. I have used the same Bible for about 10 years now and I love coming across those dated notes. It reminds me of God's faithfulness.
Perfectionism is exactly why I haven't started bible journaling. I have beautiful journaling bible and I study it but I haven't taken the leap to bible journaling.
"the devil may make you think if you dont have the right color highlighter, you shouldn't do it at all". This is true, or that you should spend money you need somewhere else or better suited somewhere else while making you feel bad about it. ❤ This is true, thank you.for sharing your experience!
I started Bible journaling today so this is truly the Holy Spirit convicting me about not idolising the journaling but focusing on the Word itself! Thank you for sharing your vulnerability because it helps use in the faith
That's amazing! I am so happy you started to journal and that you were spoken to by God so early in the process to make sure that you are not idolizing journaling or the aesthetics of it all but to FOCUS entirely on God's Word! God Bless you on this journey, I pray you would grow even closer to Him with this new step!
I use two methods to study. 1. Read the Bible as a whole. Yes, I read it like a literary book. Why? I get the whole picture and connect the dots of smaller studies. I connect verse with verse and understand the chronological context of the verses. 2. I read individual verses and individual study. I find meaning in situations that I may be going through. I dive deeper and try to understand meaning. 3. I reflect on how I can best serve God. What does He command? I look for guidance on daily living. My three aren't in order. Number 3 is most important to keep coming back to. Journaling to me is a tool. My journaling is a journey. I don't have a lot of colors, lists, notes, or flashy embellishments. That's too much for me. I like the coloring pages so I can do meditation and color a page while thinking about the verse it represents. I'm grateful for your video. I was beginning to think my method was overly simple, and I wasn't putting much into it. In reality, I'm doing enough. I don't have to be fancy to connect with God. I recently bought a few highlters so I can highlight "better". I'll still use them whenever I get my package, but I will be sure to reflect on the passages more before I do. This was affirmation that I'm on the right track. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome advice!! Bible journaling for me is the same as note taking. I take my notes in a separate notebook. Sometimes I'll add pictures or doodling but not in my Bible, only in my notes book. My Bible remains a fresh slate so that every time I open it, I start afresh and ready for the Holy Spirit to show me new things, not my old notes.
I totally get that! For me it’s all about the seasons and I prioritize getting into Gods word instead of getting stuck on methods and mediums for writing or studying! I agree, sometimes I really do love just taking those notes in a notebook and I definitely can understand keeping the Bible fresh too! 🙏🏼❤️ God bless! Thanks so much for your support!
@@triciachibanda9023glad to know that I am not the only one who has thought of this idea 😊. I’m just starting my journey and this is what I have in mind to do. ❤
This is the thing that has kept me from Bible journaling or making a prayer bible. I follow several groups on Facebook on both methods and cant get started because i feel that many, many posts are about see how pretty I have made my Bible, like it's a competition. I would rather just read and underline as I feel led, or write my own notes organically. Maybe that's Bible journaling and maybe it's not. But it's what my heart feels comfortable with as i pursue my relationship with God.
I totally understand that! The most important thing is that you're getting into the word so if that is what helps you to do that then that's great! It should never be about how pretty our bibles are because truly, if you have a pretty bible but none of that word actually written on your heart than there's no point! Keep going and diving deep into God's word, He will always guide and lead you!
I learn by writing things down, I have been writing notes in my bible for years and years, It’s messy I used sticky notes and now the binding..it’s well loved….i did buy a few things to put flaps to help my poor bible binding I’m 68 years old and it is pretty, but I was very messy when I was raising my children…
So true! I feel the same way, sometimes I can't do my Bible journaling because I compare myself to the "inspirations" on Pinterest and the people I follow, it's frustrating, but these days I was wondering why I do Bible journaling: to impress others or to get closer to God? (If there's any mistake, I apologize, but I used the translator)
@@marcijo1059 my bible is not pretty, I’m going to have to get biding tape, the whole New Testament is placed inside. My daughter bought me a beautiful NIV…not much room to write and I’m 68, don’t think I would live long enough to transfer all the notes. And my old bible and I have been through a lot together..it comforting.
One thing that has helped me is getting a Bible to read, just for reading......I don't put any marks or notes or anything in it, so that, as I read it, it becomes ready for new and fresh meanings from the Holy Spirit as I study, meditate, and pray over it..... This was so great.....thank you!
This is what I do! I just started reading, so I want to actually understand the Word rather than make random colorful highlights. However I would also like to try bible journaling maybe on another translation.
The last one felt personal. I realised I just wanted to bible study to put it in my instagram story. Thank you for this video, and for making me realising what truly matters.
Yeah I totally get that sentiment! And you know what, that's amazing of you to admit that as well because it is sometimes such a slippery slope! I will pray that God keeps directing you and showing you exactly how to study His word with the right heart! Thank you for your comment! 💗🙏🏼
I rarely leave comments. GOOD JOB! You have covered the most common problems with grace, kindness, and compassion. The voice of the Holy Spirit came through loud and clear.
This is awesome, thank you! After after 45 years of serving God, and struggling to find the time to develop consistency in my Bible reading, I have often fallen off one extreme or the other. All or nothing. So true! Now I catch myself…in the morning, when I’m tempted to just say, no, I have to get to work… Even if I don’t have time to do my Bible study or journal anything, I force myself to at least read one chapter & take it in like fresh water. God never disappoints me! He still meets with me, with or without my highlighters. 😅 very well done video, never stop seeking Jesu!! 💞
I totally understand that! It is important to give ourselves grace with how the time looks but to at the same time have the discipline to always stay in the word! Haha I loved what you said "he still meets me with or without my highlighters" such truth! Thankyou so much for your support! God bless you 🙏❤️
I like your comments on Bible journal, you are right but not everyone does it like that , I saw videos that they just show the art work but they don’t say anything about the Word of God I thank you for this video and the Bible verses that you used to showed it Thanks
A great video with sound advice! We must be careful that we do not make the Bible our idol. Yes, we can make even the Bible an idol and by focusing on beautifying it rather than meditating on it, then we become prideful and in our pride may fail to hear GOD speak through HIS WORD. This comment is not meant to be judgemental but a cautionary word for all of us - myself especially. GOD bless you sister for your wisdom!
Use pencil for you margin notes, and when the graphite starts to fade, you can either write over it again or erase and study the passage again, putting in new insights. When highlighting ... use Crayola Erasable Color Pencils - you can easily erase the wrong color, and it does not bleed through the paper to the other side. Just do not use the eraser that comes on the pencil, instead use a hi-polymer (white) eraser. The ones that come in a pencil style holder allow you to see what you are erasing. If you are truly concerned about straight lines ... keep an index card handy and since it is so flexible that it will curve with the open Bible, you can use it as a ruler. The reason I use the above for marking my Bible, is that they are not bold in your face, instead they have a softer look and do not distract me from the text of the Bible passage.
I just found this topic this morning. Thank you for praying for me, and everyone else who is beginning the most important study we will ever do. I almost bought some pretty things to work with, but I left them in the store, came home, prayed, and had a clear conviction of repentence and internal cleansing. There is nothing more precious than the Holy Spirit.
Thank you. God guided me to your video. I had no idea what a Bible journal was, an hour ago. May 2024 bring blessings to all of us, to deepen our understanding of His Word.
Wow! I am so happy that God led you to this video and inspired you! Absolutely, I pray that this year we are set on fire for God like never before and that His word sinks deep into our souls
Words of wisdom, to be sure! More then anything Satan does not want us in the word of God, and if we are, his aim is to get us sidetracked from drawing closer to God. Thank you for sharing! I just recently started bible journaling and found that on those days I don’t feel like studying, I use my prayer bible instead. Even if it’s just praying the word. And yes, a prayer bible can be used wrongfully as well, it’s truly the intent of the heart in every way. I also found relying on commentaries to be troublesome. Yes, they can certainly help us gain deeper understanding, but they can also be wrong. We must be discerning, and ultimately the bible is the Holy Word of God, not a commentary. If we are born again the Holy Spirit is our ultimate teacher! Hope you keep posting. I’d be glad to hear more from you 🤗🙏🩷
Originally, I was too scared to even attempt bible journaling (mostly writing/highlighting in the bible, itself, IDC about writing in a separate notebook, my thoughts and questions) because I consider the Word of God to be sacred. I don't want to do anything to deface it. But, then, I looked into proper types of journaling bibles, for that purpose and so to start off small, I'll begin with that, to get out of my shell, a little bit. 'Cause the opposite can be true, as well of overexcessive bible journaling vs not doing it all for fear of defacing/destroying the Word of God, even though God's Word never changes, but I digress.
I started Bible journaling because I myself needed to dive so deep into the word to truly understand the context of what was happening and to retain the information. Otherwise, I would forget what I learned the day before. So the highlighting, the extra notes HELPED so much.
This was a very humble approach, while I may not struggle with these concerns, I believe the desire to study God’s word is rewarding and consistency is paramount which is my struggle. I probably highlight and take notes to track what I am reading and my Bible is not cute, but I love your encouragement. There may be accusations that you are trying to “act” better than others but I want to encourage those who benefit from journaling and may feel the need to hide or dim your light…Mary sat at Jesus feet and Marta was concerned by Mary’s approach, but Jesus highlighted that few things are needed and Mary chose the better part and it will not be taken from her. Bible journaling can be worship and you don’t need to apologize for studying the Word of God with sincerity.
This also encourages me too in that I was thinking I had to fill in every section on my Bible Soap notes. I actually felt bad about leaving portions blank or hardly writing anything at all. I’m grateful that can go back and add later. I’m grateful for this video
Thanks for sharing 😊 I just got an Interleaved Bible for my birthday a few months ago. The reason I wanted an Interleaved Bible for journaling was because I had notes in 10 different Bibles and 4 different Bible apps that I wanted to put all in one place. I am slowly delving in, but I am loving every moment so far. Although I've had a DEEP love for the Word of God for quite a few years, Bible Journaling is deepening that love even more! ALL for the glory of God! ❤️🙌❤️
Haha that’s awesome! 😂 I totally relate with the amount of notes in all the different places! So happy you’re diving deep into His word ❤🙏🏼 with you Bible journalling yourself let me know if there are any videos you’d like to see about it!
I’ve always been scared to Bible journal because it feels disrespectful to deface the word of God by writing all over it. I feel like it may be irreverent if I did that. I’m going to try your first method of writing in a journal my thoughts and reflections and just keeping the journal with my Bible. Thank you for the idea! ❤
I totally understand that sentiment! Follow your own convictions and know that all that matters is just that you're getting into God's word in some way! 😊God bless!!
The Bible is just paper in a book. His word is ALIVE. It’s the words that are not to be tampered with. Don’t change His word or what He said and meant.
Tip-ins are what helped me with that...I can't bring myself to do anything more than underline on the actual pages. I do know that I have forgotten more than I remember about word studies, topics, etc....keeping it in my Bible is helping (I only have a few so far). God bless as you get into the Word. 🤗
I watch several UA-cam videos on journaling in our Bibles. I have to admit that your video has been the best. You are very poised, talk professionally, educated, and sincere. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing God use you! May God bless you abundantly!
Wow. What an amazing compliment, I’m so honoured and you honestly made my morning 💙🙏🏼 Thankyou so much for the kind words and for subscribing! God bless you!
It's my very first time hearing about Bible Journaling ❤ And I loved the way you explained. Not as "one more trend" but a way to grow closer to the Lord. May God bless you!
That’s awesome! I encourage you to pray about it and if you feel like God has put it on your heart then definitely start Bible journaling! Either way get into the word regardless!! ❤️❤️
Thank you for posting this video, I have been going through it lately with the sinfulness of bible journaling. it really has become toxic especially on social media, I find myself constantly searching on Amazon for the next thing to “improve” my journaling, or the next study Bible that will satisfy my thirst for knowledge, and it’s all distractions from the enemy. It all comes down to me being insecure in who I am and who Jesus is, part of me still thinks I need to “protect” myself with information rather than relying on the Holy Spirit for comfort. I think it has something to do with my family not being believers and I always have to feel “prepared” for an argument. The Holy Spirit told me “Don’t be Eve and try to outsmart God”. 😮💨 that hurt! Lol Anyways, thank you for posting the truth!
It is like you were speaking about me personally. I’ve experienced almost all of the things you talked about. I am a copious note taker who stresses about things like forgetting to capitalize the g in God and letting my commitment to the journaling keep me from the Word at times when I can’t do the journaling the way I want. It’s not about what I want, it’s about me listening to God and learning from His Word. Thank you for this video, it is truly helpful. Blessings!
Why did I have this exact same problem today??! 😂😢 I bought a new Bible and the perfect highlighters, and day 2 I wrote something in the margin but my handwriting was bad…. So I tried making it better but everything I did kept making it worse! Ughhhhh I’m trying so hard to not be a perfectionist but my ocd is killing meeeeee 😅😢. I guess it’s a permanent reminder to let God work on my problems because when I try and fix them on my own I make them worse every time 🤦🏼♀️
Thank you for your encouragement. I try so hard to put devotional times into my routines throughout my day. But, if something happens, then I sit in misery and shame because I had to pass over something..like last night I missed my evening reading because I fell asleep exhausted from work. The important thing for me is to know that I am stretching and growing everyday. I am washing my brain 😊 everyday in some way with His word.❤ and it’s never perfect, but He is. God bless your beautiful ministry.
Your comment about seasons of journaling was helpful to me. I was spending more time doing it; but not so much now. I read most days, but don't always journal. Thanks for the encouragement.
Yes! It’s all about just being in the Word! The fancy stuff is all awesome if it deepens your relationship but those things are just tools to help you get more in depth with the Word! Thank you for your support! God bless you 🙏🏼💙
Thank you for the reminder. That is why I hide when I do bible studying and journaling and hide my bible😅. I just want to make sure to guard my heart against boasting about it.
Haha it’s all about following our own personal convictions so hey if that helps you to make sure you’re guarding your heart than that’s awesome ☺️ but just remember that if you’re constantly seeking Him the Holy Spirit will always guide you and correct you, you don’t need to worry too much ☺️. Also letting others see definitely starts up some conversation and inspires others to get deep into Gods word too 💗🙏🏼 Thanks so much for your support!!
This!! This is the video I've been looking for amongst all of the bible journaling videos I've seen on YT thus far. I recently started digging back in the Word and was looking for ways to deepen my study and ended up watching many bible journaling videos wondering if it was something that was right for me and my study. Thank you for sharing your journey and giving practical tips that focus on God. I am grateful for this video.
This was something that I definitely needed to hear. I want to deleve deeper into God's word but worry about getting it wrong. I have all the highlighters and coloured pens ready for my bible journal. But the worry about making a mistake or it not looking correct has stopped me. I shall let that go and just do. No matter what it looks like, it's what I learn from what's said that matters. Thank you
When it becomes a sin was the one that really helped me thank you! I love things to look pretty. Now I know not to focus on that. I did subscribe and liked your video.
Hello Kay. you have been such an inspiration. my wife was diagnosed with dementia in 2021, and as a result - life has changed and getting into God's Word has taken a hit. but after seeing this video it has really encouraged me to begin my study journey once again Thank you so much. I'm not sure if you will see this as 11 months has past by, but for me it was brand new today. Once again thank you and may our Lord Jesus richly bless you for your ministry. (watching from the UK) and subscribed so looking forward to more content, Bless You.
Hey there! I am so happy that this video encouraged you to study once again. I can’t imagine how hard it must be with your wife’s diagnosis but just know that God loves you so much and is so good. He has a good plan for both you and your wife and I pray that you would both be strengthened with His power through His spirit in your inner being and that as you draw near to Him He would draw nearer to you! God bless! Thanks for your comment and your support!
Thank you for shining a light on the “why”. I have spent more time on trying to develop the PERFECT process, thinking that every time I was in the Bible it had to look a certain way. I need to get back to letting the Holly Spirit lead me, sometimes that means just finding God in His word.
No problem! So glad you enjoyed the video! When I accepted that it won’t be perfect and that the time I have with God might look different each time that’s when things changed!! The Holy Spirit will 100% guide and direct you!
Good advice ,all of it. I've taken what I call mini-vacations from Bible study. Just grab my Old faithful, note pad and one pen, and if something hits a cord I mark it with a note. I can't be without a pen or paper.
Thank you so much for this video. I was saying to my friend how excited I was about starting this journey; my friend asked me if I was taking my bible to church. My spirit let me me know it was private. Again, thank you
Good job following your personal conviction! God will always guide you and create in you a pure heart and as time goes on you may find that means you are able to bring your bible to church (perhaps it can encourage someone else one day) but the spirit will 100% tell you when that time is if it comes! 🙏🏼😊
🥰 amazing points - sometimes we feel pressure to make our notes pretty, but this helps to remind me they don't have to be perfect! Excited to get into God's word more.
A new subscriber here! I found your words causing me to really search my heart. I am the perfectionist in that I have always felt like I HAD to do it now. I became ill and fell behind on the Bible study I was doing and felt terribly guilty. I read the Bible and reflected on what I had read but did not feel up to journaling. After listening to you, I now know I should not have felt guilty at all. God knew my heart and knew what I was going through and still loved me! Thank you so much for this video! I will continue to journal but definitely not feel like it’s wrong to miss it sometimes. I look forward to seeing and listening to you more!! God bless!! ❤️🙏
Good Morning, Beautiful and thank you so much for your kind words and touching on every, every single word about bible Journaling I'm 61yrs of age and this video touched my heart and I thank you a newbie for your channel
i needed this, thank you. im in the season of bible listening on the bible app. i am pregnant with my 6th so its hard right now but i’m very passionate.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for confirming everything I was feeling & going through! I very much appreciate that you’ve mentioned to pray first to the Holy Spirit to help me to follow His path and after.
Thank you so much for this video that you shared to the world Tips how to Bible study I ran to other videos, but nothing like this that you said in your video talks about what you mentioned in your video about Bible study and I believe it is very true which you’re saying for those are trying to get started Bible study
Exactly how you described suddenly stopping journaling is how I stopped writing my daily devotionals. For 10-11 years, everyday, I wrote a journal for the song I woke with that morning and posted it to my website, linking to it on Facebook. Then suddenly I stopped. That was2 years ago and just recently I resumed writing them, not yet posting but at least I’m writing again. God is good to understand our weakness and to strengthen us when we need it. Thank you for this video. It helps to understand Bible journaling and I’m trying to find similar info on creating Prayer Bibles.
That's amazing that you did that for so long, but just know that doing it or not doesn't make you anymore or less in God's eyes, we can't earn His love or Him being proud of us. That is all freely given ❤️ God loves you and is so happy when you just get into His word in some way! Different seasons can bring new methods of connection but what matters is getting into His word in the first place! Proud of you! God bless!🙏🏼❤️
Oh, I'm definitely not a color coding person. I have my own system of marking . I have a "journaling Bible" 🙄 problem is I go blank😳 when I go to make notes 😅 . It is single column and verse by verse and a nice margin, which i like. But I always feel more comfortable with my old faithful 2 column, center reference column ,verse by verse no margin ,back reference section missing years ago , Revelation is being taped in page by page Bible 😅 Recently I've learned how to glue in extra pages ,also fold outs, lol I don't how much that poor old faithful will take , but it's the one i always end up grabbing 😊😊
I needed to hear this so much today. Thank you. I was searching for ideas on how to start bible journaling. I bought a new Journal The World Bible and the pens and highlighters last summer. I got started and was trying to stay focused, and then Fall came, and I just stopped. I actually never worked in the new Bible. I was using a journal and my old bible at the time because I was afraid I would mess up the new Bible. I was focused on the wrong thing the whole time, thinking I was focused on furthering my Bible study journey. Thank you for shedding light on the truth that we all get caught up in. 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing and your vulnerability! I've gone through the "falling away" from journaling or just being excited to get in His word. I think we all, as Christians, do.
yes. i've fallen into the trap of timing and perfectionism and as hard as it is to admit it, pride. on the days i wake up late and have 20 min to read instead of an hour, i would say to myself, well, i wont be able to fill all my margins so why even bother. or i found myself flipping through my pages, not to see how much i've learnt about God but how it would seem to others. i'm cringing at myself typing this. but i believe that once hidden sins are brought to light, they lose their hold. so lord, bring me back to a place of hunger for you and Your word. i surrender all.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience. God bless you as you are sharing with others and encouraging people to experience differently God willingly. O, by the way I am your husband's friend he shared with me your vedio just this evening. May the Lord be with you and Dalton. In Christ, Max
This was absolutely driven by the Holy Spirit. I felt like it was a close friend peeling back the layers that opaque the true purpose of reading the Bible. You got a new sub! Thank you for obeying the Holy Spirit and uploading this video 🙏🏼 Dios te bendiga ❤️
Thank you. This is the third video I found on bible journaling and the theme that resonates with me is perfectionism... I stop because I want things to be so and so but I have to learn to let it go because its affecting my progress
Wow, thank you for this video. I enjoy Bible journaling but often feel so pressured by comparing how mine turns out compared to others that I often lose sight of the whole purpose of it. This was really encouraging
Wow I just found you and subscribed, you are a blessing and treasure!! I like your calmness and your peace and joy. I have been writing and marking up my Bible for decades…. It is such a tool to learn about what is behind the words to make the life with CHRIST more valuable. What joy!!
I have come to see and believe that every message, testimony or media form is not by mistake. This video was also meant for me, Thank you. Literally everything you said. Am so excited to see more and wish you the best in your aspirations for this channel.
Yes! It can be hard to admit but it's so true and sometimes we just have to be humble to admit to it and bring those feelings straight to Jesus and have Him change our hearts! I pray that God would bless you in your Bible journaling journey and you would have a longing for His word like never before! :)
:'D muchas gracias!! ✨🙌 Dios te siga bendiciendo! 🌿☁️✨❤️
No problem! So good to hear I wasn’t alone in that! I’m so happy the video spoke to you! It is so true, God will never abandon us and as we draw nearer to Him he will draw nearer to us ✝️ God bless you 🙏🏼💗!!
❤thank you for this video! I have wanted to journal and have started a Bible Journal several times, but I didn’t have the right pens, or the right notebook, or shame on me, it wasn’t good enough and I stopped journaling but still read my Bible and do Bible studies with a group of wonderful Christian women. With your thought, guidance and tips, I am encouraged to start again and not worry what it looks like. The goal is to learn and hear God speaking, to gain knowledge and understanding. I am very grateful!
I just happened across Bible Journaling, and decided to watch some videos. I was a bit taken aback when I saw people painting and stamping over God's word. Then I found your video. You seem so sincere in really wanting to delve into God's word. Thank you for the way you journal and the way you explained everything. I look forward to watching your other videos. God Bless and take care. Cathy M.
Thank you so much for this video!! This makes me feel so much better about my Bible journaling. I tried to make mine look beautiful with all the colored gel pens and highlighters because I thought that’s what I HAD to do. But it was too time consuming for me! I love just writing my notes with a black pen and then maybe highlighting. It’s gives me way less stress and it’s not as time consuming!! Deep down it kind of bothers me and I’m jealous of others who do it so beautifully!! But after watching your video I can pray about this and truly know there’s nothing wrong with it, if it’s for me❤ much love and God bless.
God knew i needed to see your video. I’ve always struggled with journaling since I’ve started and every time I just thought and felt I wasn’t doing it right or it just wasn’t enough. Thank you for this and for being obedient to sharing your experiences and giving wisdom throughout your video.
You came out with something different from others. You stood out from the rest. Your teaching kept me listening today. It really gave me something to learn. Thank you Jesus for your passionate teachers (messengers).
I love the simplicity of this video. I totally agree with you. I completed my prayer journal video recently it’s simple and serves the purpose of me communing with God and studying his word.
Thank you for making this video 9 months ago. You have inspired me to get back into the swing of Bible Journaling again! May you continue to post videos. I’m going to see if you have others to share/view. I like your sweet spirit and openness. Stay blessed! 🙏🏾🙂
I am so happy that you enjoyed and that even all this time later it is still impacting and inspiring people! I have continued to post regularly, I am now posting twice a week and would love to have you as a part of our Cozy Crew! Would love to know of any other videos of mine that you like! God Bless!
The prayer at the end is lovely. Thank you. Yes, I started bible journalling because I saw it on UA-cam and, yes, I now have three Bibles on the go for different purposes, but I hope I don't do it for self-gratification as much as the three different uses give me three separate ways to access and respond to God's word: in words (a note-making, journal), in art (a Bible to illustrate myself) and in Prayer (a Prayer Bible that I'm setting up this week). It's been a real blessing to me, and I hope to keep close to God through them. I also feel driven to donate to charities so that others can have the same opportunity. I was very struck by your comment on perfection. I can see how seeking for it all to look perfect can be a striving that points us away from God. It's good to make a mistake, strike a line through or scribble it out and continue on the same page. A salutory reminder that the only perfect being in Life is God.
I am so happy you enjoyed! I love the way you shared the multiple different ways you get into God's word, I think that is so cool! And I completely agree, we need to understand that our salvation and rightness with God has nothing to do with us. It's not Jesus's finished work on the cross AND our bible journaling, or art, or prayer etc. He's done it all for us and this is all to get into a deeper relationship with Him and to know Him! Thankyou for sharing! God bless!
I am a new subscriber and much older than you are, however out of all the videos I have watched on the bible journaling, you're the wisest by far! I appreciate you!😊I haven't started my bible journaling, but now I realized I can relax and get started.
Aww thankyou for your sub! I am so happy that you felt my video was inspiring and helpful to you, thank you so much! Praying that you have a wonderful bible journaling journey ahead!
Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been a believer for a long time, but have never journaled like what I’ve seen on instagram. I thought about doing a colorful journal because I felt like I was the only one NOT doing one. I could easily see myself easily falling into some of those “traps” you just mentioned. Praying for the right Bible study or journaling that God wants me to do.
I have done bible Journaling and other Journaling for many years now and have experienced a lot of ups and downs. I would get upset because I was making to many spelling errors or missing to many days and then I got into devotional books. Now I will read my devotional and write my thoughts in my devotional book and then go to my bible and mark the date and title of the devotional or some comments. I don’t always get to me bible but I treasure what I’ve learned in my devotional. I suffer from ADHD and I don’t very far in my bible reading in it’s self. I was going to say something else but I’ve forgotten what I wanted to say. But I agree with everything you said and I really encourage people to make notes even in a plain scribbler of what they are studying and what they are getting out of their time with God. Also a prayer list. On Sunday when a prayer request is given I write it in a little booklet I have in my bible or write it at the top of the scripture that is being read that day. I have one question. What kind of markers do you use that don’t bleed though the pages.
I totally understand the ups and downs, try to just give yourself some grace and acknowledge the only thing that matters is engaging with God's word, spending time with Him and learning! So whatever you need to do in order to do that is all good! Devotionals are super helpful for sure! Something I would say might help you to get into the actual bible which helps me is that I like to go onto the YouVersion app and listen to it! To answer your question I have a video all about the supplies and pens that I use :) ua-cam.com/video/wLtgj75kUbA/v-deo.html
Ur husband is insecure
Sad
Oh wow what a great idea I love that! 💗 I may actually add that to my bible journaling so I know when God gave me those revelations!
That's beautiful ❤️ on the dates
@@CozyFaithWithKay amen thank you so much. I appreciate the grace you offer us who follow your channel
Thank you for this. This is so helpful and answered many questions I had. ❤
True with me too. A separate book has worked for me.
@@analinemaia I use Pinterest when I have trouble putting this together, another view…but please be careful
That’s a really good idea and point! Opening an unwritten in Bible is like you are learning things all over again. Makes you focus more.
Wow! Thanks so much for your comment! I am so happy you felt the Holy Spirit speaking through me. Praise God! 🙏🏼
God bless you 🙏❤️
I like your comments on Bible journal, you are right but not everyone does it like that , I saw videos that they just show the art work but they don’t say anything about the Word of God
I thank you for this video and the Bible verses that you used to showed it
Thanks
A great video with sound advice! We must be careful that we do not make the Bible our idol. Yes, we can make even the Bible an idol and by focusing on beautifying it rather than meditating on it, then we become prideful and in our pride may fail to hear GOD speak through HIS WORD. This comment is not meant to be judgemental but a cautionary word for all of us - myself especially. GOD bless you sister for your wisdom!
❤🙏🏽🤗
so true.
I’d be glad to hear more from you 🤗🙏🩷
Bible journaling can be so meaningful!
Thank you for being a voice to focus on God. You did this in many ways. Praise be to His name.
Wow thank you so much!! Praise God!
Yes! This is exactly one of my reasons as well, when you study it and meditate on His word it can actually be written on your heart. God bless! 💗
Absolutely! It is definitely a process to study the bible and is not something that ever needs to be rushed!
Thanks for sharing 😊
I just got an Interleaved Bible for my birthday a few months ago.
I couldn’t Agree more, God is going to use her in mighty ways ❤❤❤
So glad it was helpful! 💗
Amen & Amen. Such good reminders ..being in the Word to grow in the Lord for His Glory, whether journaling or "just reading". Yes!! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this ;) Bible Journal can only be effective it your heart is right in the Lord
Grateful for your support and the sweet words! So happy this was helpful to you! Thanks!
I have to make it simple or I will stop. It’s just my Bible, my highlighter and pen. 😊 I told my son that he can have my Bible when he’s older.
Hello Kay. you have been such an inspiration. my wife was diagnosed with dementia in 2021, and as a result - life has changed and getting into God's Word has taken a hit. but after seeing this video it has really encouraged me to begin my study journey once again Thank you so much.
Yes! It was such a big trap I fell into at first but it couldn’t be further from the truth! So happy you’re excited to get into His word more! ☺️🙏🏼
God bless!! ❤️🙏
GREAT ADVICE THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO RECORD THIS VIDEO.
Glad it was helpful! God bless!
Fellow Bible student here........PRAISE GOD for sharing the knowledge and truth of what studying the Word can be.
Amen! Praise Jesus 🙏🏼💗
Good Morning, Beautiful and thank you so much for your kind words and touching on every, every single word about bible Journaling I'm 61yrs of age and this video touched my heart and I thank you a newbie for your channel
Thank you so much for the kind words from you as well! So happy it touched your heart and that you are a new member of the Cozy Crew!
i needed this, thank you. im in the season of bible listening on the bible app. i am pregnant with my 6th so its hard right now but i’m very passionate.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for confirming everything I was feeling & going through! I very much appreciate that you’ve mentioned to pray first to the Holy Spirit to help me to follow His path and after.
thanks so much for this video! It really spoke to me! God's Word is our guide and direction✝
I am so glad! God bless you! ❤️😊
Thank you so much for this video that you shared to the world Tips how to Bible study I ran to other videos, but nothing like this that you said in your video talks about what you mentioned in your video about Bible study and I believe it is very true which you’re saying for those are trying to get started Bible study
I love your honesty. Thank you.
You are so welcome, thanks for your support!
But I always feel more comfortable with my old faithful 2 column, center reference column ,verse by verse no margin ,back reference section missing years ago , Revelation is being taped in page by page Bible 😅
Recently I've learned how to glue in extra pages ,also fold outs, lol
I don't how much that poor old faithful will take , but it's the one i always end up grabbing 😊😊
Your voice is calming
I love your points about the Bible and how it’s already perfect and that you’ll make mistakes. It’s part of our growth. Thank you for your video
So happy you enjoyed! Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for sharing this. It brings me joy to hear from young people who really love God and His word. You encouraged me.
Yes I definitely think it’s very common and normal and the biggest thing is just constantly seeking out God and getting into His word in some way!
yes. i've fallen into the trap of timing and perfectionism and as hard as it is to admit it, pride. on the days i wake up late and have 20 min to read instead of an hour, i would say to myself, well, i wont be able to fill all my margins so why even bother. or i found myself flipping through my pages, not to see how much i've learnt about God but how it would seem to others. i'm cringing at myself typing this. but i believe that once hidden sins are brought to light, they lose their hold. so lord, bring me back to a place of hunger for you and Your word. i surrender all.
Fantastic, well balanced video about journaling. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience. God bless you as you are sharing with others and encouraging people to experience differently God willingly. O, by the way I am your husband's friend he shared with me your vedio just this evening. May the Lord be with you and Dalton.
In Christ,
Max
Aww thanks so much for the kind words Max! May the Lord be with you aswell! 💙🙏🏼
I journal my prayers. I’m still learning.
Thats a great start!!
So happy that you enjoyed the video!! Thanks for the kind words and support 🙏🏼❤️❤️
Beautifully said. Thank you for sharing…with a spirit of love and grace.
Thank you....I receive what u have said. A-men
I appreciate the idea of having a variety of ways to engage God’s word. Thank you for sharing and for the beautiful prayer 🙏🏾
Aww so happy you enjoyed! ❤ thanks for your support, I’m really happy you loved the prayer too 🙏🏼!
It's amazing how this video feels like it's talking about me...God made me click on your video to see wah I was doing....but bless u for those words
So happy you related to it so strongly and that it helped you out!
Thank you for pointing out these pitfalls that can happen in the quiet times when we are trying to pray and read and study!!!❤
Appreciate your words. Thank you ❤ God bless
What joy!!
❤
My pastor explained that being perfect means to be made whole in relationship with God.
Thanks for a very helpful - sincere - video. ❤
I have come to see and believe that every message, testimony or media form is not by mistake. This video was also meant for me, Thank you. Literally everything you said. Am so excited to see more and wish you the best in your aspirations for this channel.
I don’t think any of it is an accident either! I’m so happy that you got so much out of this video!! ❤️ thanks so much for your support!
Totally agree with all of this! Especially the perfectionism and pride! I’ve struggled with both of those when it comes to Bible journaling.
Yes! It can be hard to admit but it's so true and sometimes we just have to be humble to admit to it and bring those feelings straight to Jesus and have Him change our hearts! I pray that God would bless you in your Bible journaling journey and you would have a longing for His word like never before! :)
Thank you for sharing this. I could relate to this video so much.
I'm so glad you found it helpful!!
Thank you!😊❤
:'D muchas gracias!!
Thank you. You did such a wonderful job of sharing about Bible journaling. I really enjoyed and agree with it. Be blessed .
Thank you so much for the kind words! God bless you! ❤️
I’m so so happy you found it helpful and that God spoke to you through it!
You came out with something different from others. You stood out from the rest. Your teaching kept me listening today. It really gave me something to learn. Thank you Jesus for your passionate teachers (messengers).
So happy you enjoyed and that you were able to get something good out of the video!!
God Bless!
This is totally true.
Thank you for doing this video.
Glory to God! 💗
Thank you, that was so insightful. I appreciate you sharing your wisdom, with grace and humility. Blessings
Glad it was helpful!
God bless!
I relate so much with everything you said in this video. Thank you for sharing. God bless you! ❤❤❤
I'm so happy you can relate! Thankyou for your support! God bless you ❤️🙏
I am a new subscriber and much older than you are, however out of all the videos I have watched on the bible journaling, you're the wisest by far! I appreciate you!😊I haven't started my bible journaling, but now I realized I can relax and get started.
Aww thankyou for your sub! I am so happy that you felt my video was inspiring and helpful to you, thank you so much! Praying that you have a wonderful bible journaling journey ahead!
Wow, i havent journaled before but I never considered i coukd be journaling to boast and not seek God. Thank you for these insights!!!
To answer your question I have a video all about the supplies and pens that I use :)
