Most people want to see others work in their bibles because they dont want to mess up their Bibles... so it's not just about seeing what you do but what tools you use that work best.
If I took notes while I was listening it would look like a small child wrote it because I would be in a hurry. Thanks for showing us how you do it. It's absolutely beautiful. I love all the different kinds of fonts and highlights to make a person remember what was said in the study.
Thank you so much! Im excited to transfer bullet points from sermon notes into my journaling Bible!! Thanks for showing how to do that 😊 and thank you for reminding us to not worry about perfection, to just enjoy being in the Word!!
I love how the sermons and Bible studies go verse by verse, you can keep track of your highlighting as well by book. I also learned a lot about Matthew 2, walking through what you learned from the sermons really helps the message of the sermon really stick. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for doing this! Seeing you the lettering was so helpful for me. It is also so important to hear you say that this does not have to be perfect!
I love how you take study notes in your journal. I like to use washi tape and some stickers in mine and then highlight after I’ve got all my notes filled in. Thanks for the tip about Hobby Lobby and finding some journals there.
It is easy and common-sensical, but often browsers like me are just looking for inspiration. I see the visuals and I see the page that is beautiful and cherished and clearly helpful, and I'm inspired to do the same. If it's easy, that just means it's really doable. Thank you for sharing. Thank your husband, too!
I am currently doing Bible Art Journaling, but I would love for my notes and my devotional journals to look like this beautiful work. I do drawings in my devotional journal from key words in each lesson, but I love the different colors, fonts and lettering styles. Thank you for sharing this with us. My ladies in my gratitude journal workshops are always looking for different lettering techniques, and this would be great.
it is always fun to see how others do there journaling. I have note books I use to make some notes. My Bible is full and nearly unreadable. I have traveler note books to write in. I have the date and subject in the inside and stickers and doodles all over. I do keep them together in the current topic I am using. Mental notes are not remembered so write it down and make a note in the note book as to what and where it is referred to. We all have to do what works for each one of us. Never screw it up! I make notes and journal for me. Oh my I have been figure out that I need to date things more consistently it is interesting how you seem to add to your own. And what works with one may not for the next one.. how ever I have nearly 40 years of writing notes and such. We all keep learning.
I love seeing someone else say their Bible is full! My Bible is full of cardstock, markings, spur-of-the-moment thoughts, quotes. I use color pencils as my highlight tool, no wetness and mice and smooth. I LOVE my Bible.
Thanks so much for sharing how you do it. I loved seeing the tools and techniques. I've given me so many ideas. I'm one who would note take in a notebook and then work out what to put into the bible. I'm so glad your husband encouraged you to make this video. Thanks again!
Absolutely LOVED this video! I learned a lot of my header styles (like the highlighter with cursive over it) through digital planning, but this gave me some more ideas! I've been trying to translate it into my bullet journal for Bible studies, but with a regular black pen, i never get the effect I want! Although I've tried the micron before and didn't really fall in love with it, I'm definitely going to try using it again! Thank you for all the tips, and I look forward to your next bible journaling video! 🌸
Thank you for making this video know nothing of Bible study or bibles or anything that is too much to this I really want to get to know God and be closer to him so I thank you for sharing this was very helpful!!!

I love this so much! I never thought of bringing a notebook to church to get all my rough thoughts down and then take them to my bible more intentionally! Love that! Also i love the Color pallet selection for each book instead of a color assigned for different themes ! Soo much more fun and keeps from getting repetitive! Love this!!! Thank you!
Don't have a journalling Bible, but I try to do the journaling stuff with my notes on another book. I love this video and would love to see more of this
Thank you Lauren, this video was so insightful. I’ve been wanting a Journal Bible and you made even more encouraging for me to get one ❤ such a beautiful Bible 💕🌸. Nice ideas too when it came to studying & note taking😊 also, love loved the pen pouch, sticky notes, etc such a great idea.. I was looking 👀 for the link to it and couldn’t find it. God bless 🙏🌷
Hello Lauren, blessings. I would like to purchase the pouch, felt in love with it, is perfect the design , I was not able to see it @ your favorite list. I did check a few times. Thanks again * God bless😊
I just went and looked, and unfortunately the exact one is unavailable. 😕 I found this one though that looks similar, or there are others that also looked very similar. amzn.to/4db2Iwj
I use Bible study workbooks, and to this point, I’ve just found a study book that goes through an entire book of the Bible by an author I like that just kind of jumps out at me and go with it! My notes through Matthew and Romans are what my pastor is going through on Sundays and Wednesdays.
I take notes in my Bible but rn it’s mostly sticky notes. It’s hard for me to do what you do because I feel like I’m not sure what to journal about or what’s “right”
One thing that really helped me was someone told me to only write or highlight the things that have meaning to you. I always felt a lot of pressure about writing what I felt like I should write or what someone else said to write. Only writing things that have meaning to me helps a lot with taking the pressure off and narrowing it down.
Enjoyed this video but I wonder how you make your notes during a sermon, I find that as I am writing a note I am missing the next thing my Pastor is saying or else I try listening to him then forget what I was going to write down... Any tips for this ?
I basically never look up in a sermon😂 it does happen sometimes where I do forget or miss a sentence here or there, but I write pretty fast, and when I get to a point that I am not writing down something from the sermon, I go back and add a lot of the embellishment type things.
I have come here to learn gow to take notes. I am confused how you can sit and write/colour during services. At my house of worship, that would seem very disrespectful. It is something we allow for young children. But anyway, i hope to learn how to study a bit better from you.
Welcome! It’s not really coloring, as much as journaling, and my own preferred method of taking notes on what is being said in the sermon. In my church, and my general Church background, note-taking of any sort isn’t considered disrespectful, or discouraged, but encouraged as each individual feels is necessary for their own personal learning and growth, although I do realize that it’s not the same everywhere. I hope you can find something that’s helpful for you! ❤️
The explanation of the markings is helpful, thanks for that. Since you are transferring your service notes to your Bible, you have the story details of that experience of the church service in your life, but many of us have no clue about that service as we were not there. I say many of us, just in case anyone comes along and was there. Thank you also for sharing the the details behind your way of making the notes (leaving space, in the notes under the Daniel note on the Matthew 2:6(?) verse, for instance)
Personally I listen and retain information better when doing art or doodling. It might look like I’m not paying attention, but I’m definitely listening. 😅
I do know that some holiday traditions and things may have come from more pagan traditions, but my family and I generally mostly celebrate what are considered to be Christian holidays, and we do our best to make Christ magnified above all in any holiday we celebrate❤️
So glad your husband encouraged you to make this video! Would love to see more about how you do your lettering.
I’m so glad you love it! I definitely have future plans for more lettering videos❤️

Hi Lauren I also love reading the Bible I been studying psalm 23 amen 🙏 ❤😊
This is wonderful. I’m left handed and I’m always looking for other lefthanded people to do this kind of thing. You really have helped. Thank you

Oh I wish I could focus and work like you do. You are so talented and a blessing❤️
I love this video! I'm new to Bible journaling so these are some great tips to add to my study time.🌿
I'm late to this but I loved it!! I finally found a system after looking at so many. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this and going through this you take notes and journal.
Thank you for making this video know nothing of Bible study or bibles or anything that is too much to this I really want to get to know God and be closer to him so I thank you for sharing this was very helpful!!!

That’s totally ok! I have journaled in notebooks, and even in regular bibles that aren’t made for journaling!
Yes please.
Great video. Very informative.
Loved this!
Beautiful handwriting
loved this! TFS
Awesome ideas!
Beautiful calligraphy ❤
Thank you Lauren, this video was so insightful. I’ve been wanting a Journal Bible and you made even more encouraging for me to get one ❤ such a beautiful Bible 💕🌸. Nice ideas too when it came to studying & note taking😊 also, love loved the pen pouch, sticky notes, etc such a great idea.. I was looking 👀 for the link to it and couldn’t find it. God bless 🙏🌷
I added it to the journaling favorites link!
Thank you Lauren, for your response and blessings, the item was the Pouch itself , I was not able to find it in the list. Was so nice loved it 🙏💗🌷
14:09 - pens - micron 0.5
tombow fudenosuke brush pen
I like to transfer notes from my journal in to my Bible when time allows.
Cute notes and lettering!

Thank you dear Lauren and God bless 💕🤗✝️
Thanks ! Even though it seems easy to you, it did not look easy to me! But I love what you did and hope to try it myself…minus the artistic ability
I enjoyed this
This is beautiful. Do you have a separate channel where you place these or a playlist? I’d love to see more!
I’m working on creating more journaling content! A new video on lettering just went up today!
I brought my study notes journal with me and some study tools so ai can take notes during my lunch break.
I’d welcome more videos like this ❤
How did you learn to journal like that? It's so cool!
It’s been a long process of about 15 years teaching myself!
How do you choose what you want to study in the Bible?
I use Bible study workbooks, and to this point, I’ve just found a study book that goes through an entire book of the Bible by an author I like that just kind of jumps out at me and go with it! My notes through Matthew and Romans are what my pastor is going through on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Everything I like to say it’s long so in a nutshell, this looks extremely difficult.
It’s not as complicated as it looks, but it definitely requires a lot of practice! I’ve been doing this for about 12 years.
❤
Can you please post what brand you pen bag is? I like the pocket on the one side.
I don’t know the brand name, but here is the Amazon link: Large Pencil Case Big Capicity... www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTSNCYV6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Actually, Matt 2: 6 is quoting Micah 5.
You’re definitely right. Not sure where I got Daniel🤦🏼♀️
Do you have a link to the mr pen highlighters you are using in this video? I cannot find these highlighters anywhere
They should be linked in my Amazon Favorites list in the description!
Here they are: amzn.to/3XZfb0L
what are the names of the highlighters you using and do they bleed through?
In this video I’m using Mr. Pen brand dual tip highlighters, and they do not bleed through!
I take notes in my Bible but rn it’s mostly sticky notes. It’s hard for me to do what you do because I feel like I’m not sure what to journal about or what’s “right”

Thx, I'll try that and see how it goes. I am lucky because our church is not set up with pews but we all sit at round tables...@@laurenmakesplans
I bet that’s so convenient! I have to do it all in pews trying to keep my one year old from escaping😂
I live near JC I had no idea they had one
Love this. More would be y
You said you went to a conference inJohnson City. Is that in TN? If so, do you know what it was called?
It was the Lifeway Women Live Conference. It was in JC last year but I don’t think it’s coming back there this year😕
@laurenmakesplans I live in Jonesborough. And would love to attend classes/conference on Bible journaling/ studing,etc... but can't find any local
What bible are you using. I would love to get one like that🙏
It’s the Vienna theme KJV notetaking bible from Hosanna Revival!
Do you sharing your Bible study
I do have several other videos journaling through my Bible studies❤️
💯💯💯❤❤❤❤❤
Are you in Johnson City, TN?
I grew up there and still have family there, but I live in NC now!
I have come here to learn gow to take notes. I am confused how you can sit and write/colour during services. At my house of worship, that would seem very disrespectful. It is something we allow for young children. But anyway, i hope to learn how to study a bit better from you.

I don’t think is disrespectful, I just wonder how you can do it while trying to listen to a sermon ..😊
I actually have a harder time paying attention when I’m not doing something with my hands! Journaling and note taking helps me focus more.

Can you link the pen pouch?
It should be linked in my Journaling Favorites Amazon list, although I don’t think that exact one is available anymore.
How do these markers don't go through the other side
Hi! The Mr. Pen highlighters are the best ones I’ve found that don’t bleed on Bible pages
It says you are a pastor’s wife but I see you partake in pagan holidays? No judgement. Just trying to get understanding. Thanks
I do know that some holiday traditions and things may have come from more pagan traditions, but my family and I generally mostly celebrate what are considered to be Christian holidays, and we do our best to make Christ magnified above all in any holiday we celebrate❤️
I can just can't do all this doodling. Takes my focus away from the word tbh. Journaling like this doesn't work for me.
That’s ok! Not everything works for everyone, but it’s what works well for me!
