    Finished watching the balance of that fuel Problem video glad you conquered each of the challenges it presented on your bobcat , sediment and water must be pretty common when machines get older. Thanks again for your video to help others

      There is definitely a learning curve to owning one of these machines. I broke the second drive belt this weekend. I think I just need to adjust the tensioner a bit more this go round. Thanks for watching!

    Sorry you had to go through all that but thanks for posting your video. I had the same problem on my T250 and I just disconnected the hose on the tank side of the priming bulb and blew the crap back into the tank. I know it won't last but it bought me some time and it's easy to do. I've been trying to figure out how I can flush the tank and you finding the screen at the bottom of the filler hose made my day. I've seen a bunch of posts where people tried to siphon a bobcat fuel tank but something was blocking the hose.
    My new plan is to pull off the filler hose at the bottom like you did, remove the screen and run two hoses into the tank. I have a 12V diesel transfer pump with a large water separator filter in line. I plan to suck the fuel out, filter out the crud and run the pump output bank into the tank. I figure the agitation of the pump output will stir up the crap in the tank so it can be sucked up into the water trap filter.

      Yeah mine does pretty good now that I drained the tank. It still clogs once in a while and I have to pull the hose and clean the screen. I’ve ran several tanks of fuel through the machine now but it still does it. My eventual plan is about the same as yours. I’m going to drain the tank from the bottom again but filter and pump the diesel back in to try to flush out whatever is left of that crud in there. I’m still pretty happy with the machine overall. Really get a lot done with it. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!

      I don’t know if you read any of the comments on this video but someone said the problem was an algae bloom in the fuel. Said you had to use an agaecide additive to get rid of it. Not sure if you are having the same problem but figured I would mention it. Good luck with your machine

  • @trog.lodyte

    Thx for posting this video, same machine same problem right now. That's an algae bloom in the tank, make sure you use an algicidal fuel additive to keep it at bay, once it's in there It will keep coming back if you don't.

    There is a screen at base of filler hose to keep dirt out of tank. Pushing a hose can puncture screen. Good to pull plug and totally drain tank. Removes water and dirt. Make sure fuel line is not crimped behind engine.

      Hey David. That sounds like it’s going to be a chore for sure. I actually sold my machine a few months ago. I had it for about a year and finished up what I needed it for so I sold it. Gonna miss that thing, it was a workhorse. If you haven’t found him already there is a channel called “HowIDidIt” where the guy does a lot of bobcat repairs. He really knows his stuff so be sure to check him out. Thanks for watching and good luck with your machine!

    Tip for skid steer owners and lots of equipment. Need to add you own inline ballvalve cutoff on tank supply to allow you to separate line and air pressure any tank screen. My skidsteer gave similar problems. Cleared rust sediment a few times then I dug farther with magnet on rod and removed significant rust from bottom of tank. Also I wound up a plastic grocery bag floating in my tank. Old rental machines are subject to aholes is all I could figure. Inline hose filter good for predebris stopping. Hope my experience helps someone else.

    Similar issue on my terex/asv track loader…. Running fine but eventually starving for fuel. It turned out the tank had lots of rust in it…. I tried in line filters, super strong magnets, cleaning the lines… nothing worked. I ended up replacing the entire fuel tank…. It want cheap, but the old one was way too far gone.

    Mine is doing the exact same thing, I started carrying a chunk of plastic air line from a semi truck. When it quits I pull the supply line off the primer bulb and jam that air line in the hose and blow through it until I hear bubbles inside the tank then put it back together. It seems to work for a while until I have to do it again. I was thinking in my case it had something to do with the fuel gauge not working, I thought maybe something came apart in there and was plugging it up, but maybe it's crud like yours

    • @StoutCustom
      @StoutCustom  2 роки тому

      Yeah it’s crazy to me how such fine gunk can clog mine up so quick. Diesel is way too expensive to just drain out and not be able to use it after flushing the tank. If it keeps up I’m going to try to flush the tank again but get a filter system to clean up the diesel and reuse it. It’s definitely aggravating. Thanks for watching.

      On my T250 the engine would cut out more and more frequently until it would only start and run for a second. I found that the fuel cutoff solenoid went bad. If you measure the coil resistance across the two outer pins (A and C) the resistance should be about 15.6 Ohms. Mine read 105 Ohms.
