2019 US MRE Creamy Spinach Fettuccine Another One of the Worst Meal Ready to Eat Tasting Test
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 бер 2020
- Yet another vegetarian MRE menu that manages to miss the mark of normalcy or acceptability in terms of texture, smell, flavor, and a little on the visuals too. On the upside, it's a fresh meal and did the job. I will admit, I took an hour nap almost immediately after eating it. And woke up burping the flavor of spinach, but that's okay. A fun little MRE review.

I used to know a kid in basic who would fight for the Creamy Spinach Fettuccini, safe to say he didn’t have to fight many people over it.
Thank God for those weirdos though, I’ve traded so many spinach fettuccinis for edible meals because of them.
Probably just wanted that first strike bar
To be honest, the fettuccinis dont actually look that bad.
Not the greatest, but unlike the Veggie Omelette, it actually looks like food.

One thing that I love about Steve, no matter what MRE he has, good or bad, he always commits to eating the entire thing. And I respect that. I love your videos and I've learned a lot from them. Thank you, Steve!
i could imagine those things getting very expensive, so it'd be a shame to let that money go down the drain. not only that i think he just made that his unspoken rule to finish whatever he has onto a tray

He paid for the whole thing, so he’s gonna eat the whole thing.
Well that's not always the case. Especially ww2 canned cheese 🤣
I'm literally saluting Steve in some of these videos. Thank you for your service, Steve!

The military should seriously consider hiring Steve as an official advisor for MRE meal selection. Nobody has opened and eaten as many MREs as Steve.
I can see the army giving him a warrant officer bullet. In charge with a col running the office.

I still think they're crazy for taking out the tobasco sauce bottles that could make any mre halfway decent (minus the vomelette).
The promised us Tabasco packets, and they took them out after like one year. Now there's only about four menus that get hot sauce. It really is their worst decision ever.
My boss spent his deployment as a commo trading extra phone time for tabasco bottles and cash. Made a few grand and was the Tabasco King of the whole region, said he could get anything he wanted with his tabasco stash.

Believe it or not, the Creamy Spinach Fettuccine IS actually much better cold/room temp. It somehow has more flavor and a better texture. Heat turns it into a flavorless glop, true. It was one of my preferred MREs in the Army, although I remember it had peanut M&Ms added before 2019.
Its actually decent either way, but only when fresh. I have a few of them. BUT, I did notice that they are not so nice after awhile. Ate another one that was about three years old a few weeks ago and it was not nearly as good. Had an odd chemical mush flavor. I think this one and the MRE Pizza are two menus that don't age well. The pizza turns into something kids would make out of brown and red Play-Doh, and that's about how it tastes. Like you literally ate the pretend pizza when they said "wanna try?" Salty and weird.
I tried it cold once and immediately gagged. I avoided this thing like the plague after that one time
I have eaten that one. At Camp Lejeune, NC. Wasn't bad at all. Those pretzel pieces are hard as rocks, though.
I would love to see Steve open a restaurant that serves only MRE’s of many different countries
The Chinese menu has those delightful PLA combat ration bricks.
Itd be a traumatic dining experience. $50 a plate for a basic domestic MRE to $800 for some of the more exotic ones.
Steve is trending, he made it guys. He really did it.

I don't think it would have been too much to ask for a small packet of parmesan for the pasta, adds a bit of flavor and makes it look way more inviting.

Still can't get over the loss of Tabasco, red pepper flakes doesn't cut it.
I worked for Tabasco. Irreplaceable.
Oh hell no, an mre needs Tobasco. I carried cholula in my ass pack back in the day with some Cajun seasoning.
It needs some Frank's!
That's what went through my mind.
Tabasco is such an underrated sauce for amplifying some flavors. Replacing it with red pepper flakes would for sure damper some expectations.
Steve's voice is the only morale boost soldiers need, it's oddly addicting.
Ironically this is actually my favorite MRE. And luckily for me everyone else hates it so I can have my delicious fettuccine whenever I please.

Not my favorite but I like it a lot too!
I don't think it's as bad as Steve is claiming. It definitely had more flavor than what he's describing. All I can guess is he got a screwed-up batch and someone overcooked it or something.
I get PTSD just from hearing the words "Creamy Spinach Fettuccine"
Can you tell us why?
@@YellowTyrant I can't answer for op but that stuff is horrible, I had the version with pretzel sticks and hot sauce instead of flakes. It is barely food, after adding crunch, hot sauce and salt it was just a bitter, spicy, salty texture, thanks only to the bland pretzel's.
