It’s depicted in item descriptions as a grotesque bloodbath-but that was the happiest moment of Barnabas’s life.

When you meet with Barnabas in Kanver a variant of this theme is played on electric guitar as he slashes the blade. Was disappointed we didn’t have a phase of this fight where we got an entire song like that, I was kind of expecting it given how much of a departure Titan’s theme was.
The beginning part of this with the music that plays when Barnabas encounters the group as well is just so amazing. You can hear the power, the fear, and the pain - most likely a reflection of his past that caused him to become what he is today. It’s just so much thought out into all of these tracks. This game deserves to win at least an award for its music - it’s awe-inspiring honestly
In myth Odin has over 170 DIFFERENT NAMES AND TITLES. However the Woden Worte Woes means: Woden made idols(Woden/Wodan/Wotan/Odin) Symbolizing his transformation into a giant “idol” of himself.

respectfully, I disagree. the game has been developing ultima as the final villain since the beginning. If it wasn't for that, then i would agree. I would love to have a human type of final villain more than a demiurge type of villain TBH.

The way I interpreted it was that he was merely testing the vessel to its limit -further unlocking its potential. Canonically the boss fight wasn't Barnie trying to kill Clive but making it "presentable" (ready) for Ultima. His defeat by the hands of Mythos was ordained. As his god willed it.
@@JustJDx That's the thing, at that point where he goes crazy he isn't trying to make it presentable but kill him. For once his will shines through and that's why Clive comments on it.

"There hasnt been record of any other odin in valestheas history beside Barnabas Tharmr". Makes you think if his situation is similar to clives in which he is the first eikon of their specific line. Kinda makes sense, considering how much control he had of odin.
Most likely, especially since he turned into an Akashic to serve Ultima and thus stopped aging. He was the first Dominant of Odin and since he never died he kept the title.
Is it me… or does his Odin form resemble garland? Particularly once you shatter his gathering darkness bar and he goes all out he resembled Garland of FFI with them helmet horns
Pure gameplay wise this is my favorite fight. I love his combos and him switching between semi prime and prime. There is not a whole lot of specticule and I feel like they could've went a little harder especially since bahamuts fight was literally before this. Theme is fire tho and odin is my favorite eikon(I like really sword emphasized styles)
This fight is incredible and would be the best boss fight of any other game but it really doesn't measure up to the previous 2 Dominant fights before it.
Love this. It truly is a battle of ‘Follow your god culture tradition. For you have no better ideas or morals’ With ‘Follow your ideals goals and spirit. You see the corruption in your culture’
Odin themed move set for DRK’s! (From what I remember SAM’s and DRK’s can actually craft a copy of Zantetsuken from one of the later alliance raids.. Eureka iirc)
Im not gonna lie, i feel like Barnabas should have been bahamut and the bahamut fight should have been towards the end. It felt more like a final dominant fight then odin honestly.
While the battle with Odin / Barnabas is less cinematic and bombastic than the previous Eikons, it actually has some lore explanation. Out of all the Eikons, Barnabas was the only one following Ultima's will, meaning he's NOT out to kill Clive, his master won't allow it. He even said he's going to make Clive presentable to his master. The other Eikons couldn't care less about Clive, but the only time Barnabas was really serious was during his final phase because by that point, he finally found a worthy opponent. Even then, his goal was just to have fun as much as he can before he gets defeated and willingly gives his powers to Clive. Which means, he was holding back on us the whole time.
is it just me or does it sound similar to the asphodelos gate theme in ffxiv? it sounds very similar but i cant tell if im confusing it with a different ff14 theme
It’s unfortunate to know that barnabas held back a lot. He did prime when he turned into Odin, but he didn’t want to kill Clive because it would go against his Master’s wish. Barnabas could be as strong as Ultima.
I love that his semi-prime is just the helmet, like he's already cloaked in dark enough.
Armor and Helmet. his armor is not regular, it’s clearly part of Odin.

Most likely, especially since he turned into an Akashic to serve Ultima and thus stopped aging.
He was the first Dominant of Odin and since he never died he kept the title.
Barnabas GIGACHAD
luv this theme🔥🔥🔥
Sick boss. Favourite boss fight.(all fights with Barnabas) Then it was seipnir my second favourite.
As much as I wanted more of an Eikon fight, having more hand-to-hand combat was much more fitting.
Is it me… or does his Odin form resemble garland? Particularly once you shatter his gathering darkness bar and he goes all out he resembled Garland of FFI with them helmet horns
Same with how one of ultima’s forms resembles Edea
incedently just before you fight him the FF1 overworld map plays ;) 100% a call back to garland
Me encanta que al final solo pelees contra barnabas, su orgullo de guerrero le impidió terminar la batalla en modo Odín, dandole la razon a Clive
man i wish he had just 1 more phase, would be up there with titan and bahamut
I think they spent half the budget on the Bahamut fight, so they didn't have as much left for this one.
This fight is incredible and would be the best boss fight of any other game but it really doesn't measure up to the previous 2 Dominant fights before it.
@@Leonhart_93they also didn't had budget left for Leviathan, poor levy doesn't even show up.
No I like that it's mostly pure duel.
@@Falcodragoa part of me wants to believe dlc is in order for them, or Clive takes up that mantle but that makes little to no sense
I've been waiting for this!
Gav: Oh…. Fuck!
4:11 this reminds me of Star Wars, but diferent
This is a good theme but it feels like it gets cut short like it might’ve benefited from another phase
Odin is fought 4 times (Sleipnir twice and Barnabas twice). I didn't need a second phase.
The theme reminded me of ride of the valkyries
The beginning gives me straight pandemonium vibes
same

Love this. It truly is a battle of
‘Follow your god culture tradition. For you have no better ideas or morals’
With
‘Follow your ideals goals and spirit. You see the corruption in your culture’
Is similar to "Searching Light" from FF5
Well seen
Where is the full digital soundtrack ? I need this on Apple music 🎶
We’re still waiting unfortunately. There is, however, To Sail Forbidden Seas and Find the Flame, both are incredible
0:03 mmm, he has pecs.
❤❤
Anyone knows the OST that played very first 16 Trailer
Ff16 ost "Cascade"
I need clive and barnbas movesets as classes in 14 XD
Odin themed move set for DRK’s! (From what I remember SAM’s and DRK’s can actually craft a copy of Zantetsuken from one of the later alliance raids.. Eureka iirc)
@@dragonfable66shin zantetsuken. Normal zantetsuken you get from Odin's Fate
Im not gonna lie, i feel like Barnabas should have been bahamut and the bahamut fight should have been towards the end. It felt more like a final dominant fight then odin honestly.
I thought this fight was better no fancy explosions nothing just a 1V1
This reminds me of FF IX
Shame that there wasnt a xiv's odin ost cameo
It’s unfortunate to know that barnabas held back a lot. He did prime when he turned into Odin, but he didn’t want to kill Clive because it would go against his Master’s wish. Barnabas could be as strong as Ultima.
Anyone got the official name for the first part. Its been a bitch to find lol
Shiver me timbers

how do u have 4 bars of lb???
Max upgrade
Blizzard dev team theme
Phase 1 official title: Sever
Phase 2 official title: The Riddle
Where did you get that information?
Best design and a wasted character, wish we could've seen parts where he wasn't controlled by Ultima to see if he was really good
Most probably a DLC for him.
