  • Panasonic devices back in the 70s and 80s were truly made solid and "slightly ahead of our time". It's no wonder why their catchy model names and designs still relate to collectors today. This TR-4060P should have been called 'The Transformer' because it was more than meets the eye :-)

I can relate because it was new to me until I looked over the vintage Panasonic catalog mini booklet which had a lot of cool products to search for 🙂

I would of killed for that as a kid. I had a 13 inch black and white tv in my room. Separate radio, tape and phono. Played my 2600 and later NES through the black and white tv. We where poor so when the color TV in the living rooms sound went out my Dad took my black and white and put it on top of the color unit and put them on the same channel and turned the brightness and contrast off on the b@w and the sound up. That's how I watched tv for about 2 months in the summer of 1989. Poor or not great times, great video games and don't forget the music.

I'm glad I didn't know what we know today of these "other" systems because I would have been a real brat and begged my parents to get all of this stuff. Which would have resulted in the response, "What? Do you think we are made of money??" 😄 I have to say I like your Dad's creativity. Too bad you couldn't reverse that with your game system by using the color TV for the video and your b&w for sound if you were using a rf connection. Thanks so much for sharing those memories.

@@VintageGamingMemories No problem, my son's favorite response when I said we didn't have the money for something was why don't you just use your card. A 7 year old has no concept of what an ATM card actually is

No kidding? Wow. I love collecting these items on the channel but I really think being the original owner, like yourself, is so much more special and satisfying to have after all these years. Don't let this one go 😃. Thanks for sharing.

Difference in quality is pretty apparent with those labels on the products 😁. I consider it as a good filter to use with certain/most products I collect.
