- We had a laugh while washing the windows, well I had a laugh but, later she joined thats how our relationships work we are able to laugh at ourselves and just enjoy the presence of each other. oh sure we have our disagreements life is never really perfect but, we do try our best.
I wasn't feeling too well this week, seasonal allergies something I have to deal with every year.
I then decided to answer a few questions for you about the books we read, what happens if you don't like a meal thats being served, and even if I have a boyfriend.

Giselle, I am a 42 year old homeschool mom. I used to be a full-time registered nurse, but decided to stay home with my children 6 years ago and have never looked back. Your cleaning puts me to shame! 😂 I recently stumbled upon your channel and have thoroughly enjoyed your vlogs. You make me want to be a better person. Even though I have been raised in church all my life, was a minister’s daughter and even married a minister, I find myself lacking in my outlook on life and get so easily stressed. You make me want to be more joyful and be happier being who I am. I love the Lord with all my heart and I know He wants this for me as well. I am older and life has narrowed due to Covid, I love to watch your blogs. Thank you. My mother was Hutterite, she just didn’t know it, we cleaned everything, every Saturday to prepare for Sunday. If it didn’t walk or talk it was washed down, cleaned and all beds were dusted and changed. Lawn was done and yard cleaned, cleaning was following by a late simple supper, usually homemade bread, cheese and cold cuts. Then personal preparations for church and bed. It seemed hard at the time but I miss those days so much. Love your videos where everyone works together and the singing like old days in our church.

Your closing song really struck a chord this week. My mother died March 20th and April 30th was her birthday. We try to comfort ourselves by saying that she's no longer in pain and is now free to sing and dance again. Thank you.

I'm very sorry. This is your family's year of firsts without her. We will keep your family in our prayers. Although I'm a Christian and know the answers, I dont do death well. Everyone is different. Grieving, how long and how, takes time. Again, my condolences. 💔
God bless you. So sorry to hear of your loss. I also thought of my sweet departed parents with this beautiful hymn. It will be 3 yrs this month and they died 19 days apart and had been married almost 68 years. Somedays are still really tough but its life. We were so blessed to have them for all that time. As a dress (or skirt) wearer and an avid bicycle rider (I don’t own a car). I would suggest looking to the Dutch and how they deal with long dresses and bikes. If you have a fender or rear rack on the bike, you can crochet (or sew) a skirt guard that keeps your dress from getting caught up in the rear wheel. There are also plastic versions you can buy and install, but really the crocheted ones are so much cuter :)
Dutch bikes usually also have a chain case that fully encloses the bike chain. Unfortunately that’s not a DIY project or something that you can really add after buying the bike, but if you can find a bike with at least a top chain case that helps a lot in keeping your dress away from the chain.
Bonus tip: There’s a “hack” that involves a rubber band and a penny or other small coin to fasten the front and back of your dress/skirt so that it flaps around less while biking. The phrase to search for is “penny in your pants bicycle” (why they call it “pants” when it’s a skirt, I’m not sure lol).

I had a similar kitchen mishap, except it was sweet potatoes! I had to clean the ceiling and walls. There was sweet potatoes in my sister-in-law's hair and mine! She won't let me use the mixer at her house anymore!

One Sunday after church (many years ago) my mom put a pressure cooker on the stove with potatoes and for some reason the lid blew off and we had “smashed potatoes everywhere too! I find your life so interesting and yet simplistic.
Since working on genealogy, I have quite an interest in Hutterites, Amish and Mennonites; I learned my gr gr grandfather was raised Mennonite. He apparently was not good at it because he came out of PA to IN and married very young. He eventually married 3 times because his first two wives died. I am 72 and find your work and life impressive. You are only 23 and your group of young ladies feed over 100 people! You have spotless homes and work yourself to a frazzle. Your life is admirable. I’ve watched all of your videos and love them. I am even going to try your bread recipe. Thank you for the inspiration and the recipes.

Greetings from northern Alberta. The way you clean, that’s how my mother taught me to clean too. Your spring is farther advanced than ours. No seeding going on yet. Two days ago we woke up to about 4 inches of fresh snow!

Thanks for your videos .My husband and I had Amish friends. When life felt too hard we made the 3 hour trip to see them( when work permitted) and get grounded. You also give me that feeling. I had a potato mishap once as well. I put unwrapped potatoes right in the oven on the rack to bake, I went to check if they were done, so I stuck one with a fork and it exploded hot potato everywhere! I was talking to my grandma on the phone, I told her what I did and she and I couldn’t stop laughing! 😂

The passages you leave at the close of your Vlogs are a ministry in themselves and I hope they touch the many young hearts who watch them.
I used to breed and train German Shepherds years ago and they're my favourite canine breed. The people I stayed with in Winnipeg also had Shepherd. Lovely creatures, none more faithful and loyal.

Our chocolate lab Chessie used to dig her way out of our backyard, run around to the front door and let our other dog out and they'd roam the neighborhood together. Silly dogs. Happy Saturday Giselle! Another enjoyable video from you. Your mashed potato story was hilarious and reminded me of my first mishap. I was 13 and decided to make a cake by myself using the standard mixer. I did everything ok until it was done and I lifted the beaters out but forgot to turn if off! Batter everywhere!! Not on your potato level of horrid but it certainly threw me into a tizzy. I never did it again...life lessons right? 🤣🤣 oh my goodness potatoes and cake both something that can be difficult to clean especially cake is sticky but that's how we learn.

Something to add to the wonderful supply of tools at your colony. Long handled squeegees and scrub brushes. Window washing is a very quick job that way. Yes, you should always protect your hands. You do so much with them, and use and not abuse is the goal.
