Glad I found you. I'm a middle aged fisher woman looking to learn how to further my beach pully rigs. Love your visual calm teaching Mark but rigs are a little advanced for me as a beginner. Hope you get some tutorials in before my trip next week. Glad you never had a blank 👍
I’m glad that you did find me. 👍🏻 For your pulley rigs keep them simple and they will serve you well. ua-cam.com/video/RucP59P2WeE/v-deo.htmlsi=oKOq-IA5FQqrSKLy
I did consider if it was even viable to try but time on the beach is rarely wasted and it was a good tide to try. Amazing the difference between 2 days and the amount of activity. The day before with a southerly the rod tips were busy all session, the next day with the easterly it was very quiet but we all caught something.
@@seaangling All good thanks Mark ,weathers been frustrating all my days off have been wet and windy. It's been a long wet winter. Hope to go out fishing next couple of weeks. Keep it Real😉 looking forward to ya next adventure. Take care
My apologies. A new job and the relentless weather conspired to either rob my spare time or make filming almost impossible. As the weather improves I’ll be out more and filming will get easier. 🎣👍🏻
Hi Mark it’s great to see you back filming and a cracking video mate hope the weather holds out as I’m coming down from East Yorkshire for five days to fish the big beach next week
Cant wait ton try 3 - way snood with crimps you just taught me in a video. Its hard finding all the right gear to match my line. Just ordered crimps & tool. Hope I get a fish on it...learning about fish scratching. So much exciting stuff to take in 😁 wish my father taught me all this. Not a sport for ladies was always his outlook 😢 No wonder Guys love fishing so much...its SO EXCITING.
Best way to cover the bases and try for a fish. You can also try 3 different baits on the 3 snoods. Once you find out what they prefer you can then focus on that. 🎣👍🏻
Great to see a video from you again , always a great watch , was browsing the marketplace earlier and came across your listing and thought it'd been a while since the last video
No excuses really but starting a new job has left me very little spare time and the time I have had I’ve been knackered. I’m surprised the 6&B’s haven’t sold tbh, I may reduce the price once before removing the listing.
@@seaangling I've had 2 blanks in the last 10 days lol. Bk out early 2moz on these massive tides. The last month bin hard going since the haddock n codling and whiting moved out the humber .
It is very quiet and the weather doesn’t help. I was surprised we caught anything with a pure Easterly wind but Mike had one as well. We had 3 between us the night before and last week I had a chunk of a SE from Southbourne. 🎣👍🏻
Loved this Mark. I'm all about the details and technical spec. How warm and waterproof were the bib n brace you have on there? What brand/ model is it. Love the coffee blaster. I can't wait for your stingray forays.
The waterproof are REED and very comfortable as they stretch and give. I never get wet wearing them. Stingrays will feature this year as I will be chasing one of the larger females, I’m sure there will be the smaller males to contend with.
Hi Mark. Great vid as always. Was that a change of jacket or does your black coat turn blue when it gets wet ? ? ? It’s certainly been a wet year so far, what is happening with our weather !
Hi Mark. Can I ask what was your preference for the Anyfish rod over a Century? And will the Pro be capable of bullying a fish over a reef/kelp? Thanks
Hi Martin, I tried the AFAW 6&B as they were popular and seemed to match my requirements. I liked them enough to want to upgrade and bought the Match Pro mk2’s. I took these to Norway and landed a 67lb halibut using them and was suitably impressed. I am open to the idea of a century rod but my first experience using the mk1 Fireblade was disappointing.
@@martingourd7615 I’m not the best caster but I have changed my routine and believe the rod has helped. There is a significant upgrade when you change from blue to red range with AFAW. Best option is to try one out if possible.
Brilliant video mate, was wondering how far you cast it? (obviously venue dictated) but as a general rule of thumb i've always been told if going for rays to whack it out as far as you can, recently that doesn't seem to be working haha.
Rays are a personal favourite of mine and I spend a lot of time chasing them. Distance certainly plays a part at Chesil when targeting blondes but close in and in the gulley can be very good at Southbourne. State of tide can play its part along with conditions etc. as a rule of thumb if I do not know the venue or have any previous experience to rely on I will fish one rod close and one at distance. You can then adjust both if you hit a sweet spot. If you visit a mark regularly and “know” how it fishes you can go straight to it. Hope that helps. When trying for distance I seem to average 120ish yards with a baited rig so I’m not a big distance caster. You can improve your distance by going smaller baits and streamlined rigs, this works well when using single sand eel.
@@seaangling excellent response mate, caught a stinger in the Solent last year just of hayling island. Gorgeous fish. Anyone who doesn’t like catching them are crazy haha
@@gene296 sting ray have certainly grown in availability over recent years and quite possibly linked to an increase in water temps. The sub 20lb males are very energetic and amazing sport from the shore. There is a video on the channel where I target hounds but hook up on 2 stingers. That was a cracking session.
I still have those for heavier fishing as the extra line capacity helps with larger diameter mono. I have been using the 12’s for clean ground and 14lb mainline. The CS’s for heavier use and 20lb mainline. I may step that up to 30lb for Scotland. Nice to have the choice between the 2 pairs.

good to see you back out there mate
It has felt like a long time since my last video. That will change as the season progresses. 🎣👍🏻
A nice to see a small eye ray make a appearance, and as others have said nice to see a video out as not seen some of your adventures of late.
