- A quick session to make use of a small weather window and swapping molly-moo's trailer out for a new upgraded version from Extreme. It is hard work targeting an early hound but water temperature means it may still be a few weeks too early.

The Warrior 165 is a perfect fishing boat for UK inshore waters and balances size, weight, capability and performance in a compact and manageable package. A fuel burn at cruising speed (18 knots) of 0.8litre/Nm solo with fishing kit. I generally calculate 1 litre/Nm to allow for weather conditions and tide.
Easily launched solo from a sheltered slipway or with 2 from a more technical launch and very predictable characteristics out on the water. Trim is important and molly-moo has the factory additional 5 degree trim plate.
Anchoring can be carried out through the forward hatch but I prefer in most cases to anchor from the Stbd aft corner using a lazy line connected fwd. An Alderney retrieval including ring, A2 buoy and triangle make for an easy evolution.

It has been the death nail to getting out with the persistent wind. I’ve managed a few beach sessions but even those have been difficult to film being at night and in the rain. Here’s hoping we all catch a break and get to wet a line soon. 🎣👍🏻

Work commitments and the persistent wind over the past few months has made getting out difficult. A new trailer opens up the possibility of travelling a lot further with confidence.

Always dicey with the drone, being alone and out on the boat. If anything goes wrong the drone automatically goes back to where it launched. The problem being the boat is no longer there. 😮

Hey Mark, nice vid and yes I have had some pretty decent smooties there too, from the boat - great place to fish. Have even caught them from the kayak when I have been brave enough. Glad to see you putting out 'stuff' again - truck on, Molly Moo!
It does seem to hold fish or at least attract them to a focused area. I’ve seen kayaks just off the submerged mound off Park Shore and thought they might be there for the Stingers.
@@seaangling yes, stingers galore but very difficult to negotiate from a kayak as I'm sure you can imagine. I'm not getting any younger and tend to rely on the boat nowadays; a much more pleasant place to be when hauling anything large or angry 😂
Good to see you back out in your boat Mark, started watching on my iPad only had sound in the right side of my headphones.
Then watched on the television the same only got sound from the right none from the left of my headphones.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I’ll look into it as it may be a setting on my digital mic.
The season only going to get better and the swells are mental at present on the Solent approaches
100% with some significant random variations in wind direction compared to the norm. This winter does has had a different “feel” to it. Water temp should be on the turn soon just in time for the may rot. 😜

Bream is a target of mine this year off my boat. Rare as hens teeth around Anglesey where I live.

Really worth trying the small squares of bait which gives you 3 chances of a hook-up rather than 1 bait getting plucked and there being a bare hook. 🎣👍🏻
@@seaangling thanks buddy. I will knock a few suitable rigs up and head to a reef where people claim to have caught them in the past lol. Thanks again for a great video. Made me want to get my boat out as soon as this storm passes!
I hope it goes well. You can bait the area as well with a mix of boiled rice and fish/squid pieces.

South coast, New Forest area
Probably the first days fishing window in weeks for the boat and its a shame that the fish didn't get the memo but as you said it is still early and the water clarity is terrible. Well worth the try though , hopefully not to much adjustment needed on your new trailer.👍
I’ve just watched the forecast for the week ahead on country file and it looks very unsettled moving forward. Might have to stick to the beach. The trailer only needed a small tweak to the front keel roller and I fitted the docking arms this weekend.
