This car has been awesome, right up until it wasn't. I'd still buy another in like kind in like condition back when I purchased this one. It's been a damn good car, doesn't owe me anything. But I'm trying to milk the life out of this thing and these are my real life trials and tribulations below in a summarized play list for your viewing pleasure. ua-cam.com/video/7TWMGWO9WCA/v-deo.html
Thanks for the update. That sucks man. I've found the cheapy spray on rust convertor and rust reformer type products do not work. I also find that rust oleum does not work to stop rust EVER! I have found that POR-15 epoxy does. Its expensive but it will convert rust to hard black epoxy. The only way to stop the rust progression is to seal it from any and all oxygen. The POR-15 will do that if you slather it on and get it into the panels. Thanks for taking the time for the videos
Lets see how the rust likes it when I drown it in roof tar 😁.... I had thought about using a truck bed liner, which is probably something similar to the POR-15 you mentioned. I'll have to look into that stuff. Thanks for the info. Cheers 🍻.
Can't stop the cancer. Rust converter doesn't work. Best luck I've had is with this stuff called Rust Bullet, comes in a small paint can (hard to open) and is silver color. It' like really thick paint and can be painted over. I picked up a wheel well rust spot while driving in the snow up north which pissed me off. Rustoleum didn't work. I wire brushed it and put the Bullet to it and right now it"s holding up for just about a year (in Florida). I can see minor signs that the rust will come back but the paint's not bubbling up yet. When it does I'll do it again just to slow the shit down.
Thanks for info, I'll look into to that Rust Bullet stuff. But I'm strongly leaning towards using roof tar the next time and just call it a day. Cheers 🍻.
I only recently learned about fluid film, but never heard of cosmoline until you mentioned it. This car is getting pretty far gone, but my truck is gonna get a bath in one of these two products very soon. Thanks for the info! Cheers 🍻

fluid film or cosmoline from the inside
