You said it. Before, I thought this was gonna be just another raunchy comedy that I'd enjoy, but not really come back to. Now, I can't stop listening to this cover and appreciating the emotional maturity this movie turned out to have.
The mark called her a scoundrel in front of a crowd and didn’t even realize that that’s what he was doing. But she felt it. It was a great turning point in the movie.
@@grh1993I thought it was going to be a turning point in the movie, but her reaction turned out to be one of genuinely being impressed by his musical ability more so than thinking the song was about her. Her face says “omg, he knows I man a man eater that will rip him apart” but we later learn that her facial expression was just one of being impressed and perhaps moved by his talent. It made me wonder if the director told her the former, only to have the script/plot be the latter.
This was more of a dance song when I was growing up. Almost to the point that the meaning of the song didn't always come across as intended. The emotion in that piano and his voice changed everything.
Makes u think about how many times your friends would joke about the man eater you're dating when the song would come on in my case it was always " oh dude miranda's song is on ha ha ha" in reality she truly was a fucking monster. 😂😂😂😂 not that funny though
I love when a cover of song not only has it's own voice, but also expands or clarifies the meaning of the original song. Love both versions, this one hits harder, perfect song choice for the movie and executed perfectly by all actors.
Camera work slowly zooming in on Jennifer is fantastic and you can feel what she's feeling. Great version of a classic song along with great acting. No words but pure feeling.
I can’t tell if she enjoyed it or if she’s not enjoying the lyrics. It looks like she’s scared, but also is adored by the singing. Great facial expressions by her!
There is so much that I love about this scene. I’ve seen it a few times, but it just popped back into my algorithm, so I figured I would watch it again. When that look on her face changes, it gave me goosebumps. What a great scene.
Once the bravado kick in his voice it was very good, maybe they just wanted to have his voice more weak and scared in the beginning then ease him into the rhythm where he got more comfortable and “broke out” of his shell
@@nevmiller3724yeah definitely was intended, if you hear once you hits that piano note hard shortly after he looks back, it was an emphasis on the fact that he nervous at first but started to only focus on his playing because he didn’t want the nerves to get to him and ruin the song ( yes I am probably over analyzing this scene but honestly I think it was a very well done scene for both the writers and actors, probably even more so on the actors part because he really captured that feeling of nervousness at first, then the feeling of just playing off the nerves. As an artist of many instruments it really stands out to me personally. )
Wtf! Kid has talent the Singing was perfect combination with the piano...dis is not a fluke he's has many videos showing he's singing skills & his ability to play different musical instruments....
Personalmente al ver esta escena me encantó y la piel se me erizó. La adaptación al piano le dió ese toque tan especial y dulce que te hace querer escuchar más de una vez está canción.
I watched this scene out of context and it’s what made me want to watch the movie. It’s a solid movie, but I feel like if the rest of it lived up to how emotionally evocative this scene was it would have been a masterpiece.
This scene was a high point for me in this movie. My expectations went up after this scene. Was kinda disappointed with the rest of the movie. Still a good watch.
Saw this movie Saturday. This was my favorite scene of a really great film!! All actors were excellent, story was interesting and funny. This song was performed to perfection. Best 4 minutes of the movie even better than Jennifer Lawrence’s nude fight scene on beach. BRAVO!!!
Everything about this scene is so spectacular…. The actual performance is really top notch. The meaning it takes in context of the film, the acting from both characters. It’s up there with any like scene in any film made the last 20 years… give me a better example. Come at me!

Movie actually turned out to be pretty good - entertaining and very kind-hearted (even tho some moments are pretty gross - it actually works because it shows the contrast between characters' worlds). Loved it

Darryl needs to revisit this song
His confidence grows stronger through the song. I love that.

How ironic
The context makes this scene 1 million times better. Honestly surprised how good this movie was.
No it doesn't! It makes it a BILLION times better.
It's almost like the movie was written around the song.
@@CaptainFADCyou sound like a nerd shut up

One of the best comedies I've seen in years and this scene made it a classic for me.
Its insane how perfect this song was for this movie. Describes their situation perfectly.
This might be the best 2 mins of any movie this year

her ability to convey emotion from subtle physical ticks, and reactions is amazing. Jennifer Lawrence is an amazing actor

The meaning of the song for her 🥺 And the way he looks at her. Beautiful cover
such an unexpectedly touching scene. both actors killed it!
Such a beautiful voice. I was in awe when this scene came out.
I never paid attention to the lyrics of this song til now. This should be the right way to sing it
This is a great version, but I think what really makes it isn't the singing....it's the piano. Well done!

It is the singing, the piano, and his acting. A captivating scene for sure!
I have to disagree. It's the emotion in the singing that really does it for me.

Yeah, piano version is better than the real song that was overplayed in 1982. This guy’s voice is no Darryl Hall though, sorely lacking.
