Something interesting about the camera is that the idea of a player-controlled free camera was so new that they felt the need to give it an in-universe explanation, which is why Lakitu is introduced at the beginning as the cameraman
I was also late to the party for Mario 64. When i finally played it on an N64 my best friend owns, I was blown away. That was back in 2020, one of the worst years of my life. But this game reinvigorated my love for Video Games. Even if it's dated, especially the camera...it just works. It's just a magical time, like the kind I would have had as a kid discovering video games. (Also I agree...that 3D Mario Head Model would have given me nightmares. It reminds me of those scary close-ups of faces in Thomas the Tank Engine)
Love the way you covered the 95 shoshinkai event with the beta/demo….Indeed I’m making a video about why I love this game too….im 59 stars in to a 120-star run and I’ve already hit the wall of skill/challenge where the first 55 or so stars were easy, but the few 100-coin stars I’ve gotten so far have been waaaaaay harder than the other stars… I’m using the IGN guide just to match my former childhood best…. Great video dude love the creativity and the voiceovers. And it’s awesome that kids your age are able to give their take on a game like this….we love to hear everyone’s take….it’d actually better to hear from someone who didn’t grow up on the game like me 😅 Keep up the great work Zurikey
