    Thank you for clearing up the best type of cement to use!! I normally use Quickrete and you are correct! Its takes about 12 hours for me to demold it and so I switched to Cement All…and I see The BIG difference!! Thank you!!!

    Ready!! Can you please talk a bit about where you get your pigments from? I’m banging my head against the wall trying so many different kinds (using Cementall) only to find very pale, little to no change in color at all and I’m about to throw in the towel making my own jars 😢 thanks for all you do!

    This is such a good video, super useful information, thank you! Do you think the jars made with mortar mix or cement all would be strong enough to be used as plant pots?

    Just when I thought Hydrostone was a game changer, here comes another Jai exclusive to send me back into the lab lol. Boowannite and eco resin sound like really nice options. I'll have to do some research on sealing, but I'll definitely be testing both.

    Hi Jai, just looking at your video now and thought i'd let you know that its ok to demold after 10 hours using well this is all i've tried as i dont have access to Cementall, So i use 1 part cement and 2 parts builders sand, this sand i think is a great aggregate. I've done many many vessels late at night but before 8 O clock and demolded after my clock went off at 6-40 for work next morening 😂😂😂 I can tell you i have very strong vessels after this time. I learned alot from you on how to use the Earth safe products so im very grateful for that. 💙 I hope this helps others. Thankyou again for all your help.

    • @upvibecandle
      @upvibecandle  6 місяців тому +1

      Demolding time has more to do with a product used and a circumstance rather than a particular hour. As I say all the time not all cement, sand or water are the same. 10 hours was way too soon for me. Glad my videos have helped.

      @@upvibecandle I'm sure glad it worked for me. I do let my molds dry for a whole week before I seal and then I let them cure for another week before I pour. Thankyou again. 💙

      Hi Mary, how much water approx you use? For you cement and sand mix? Thanks

    • @maryobrienbarcoe2639
      @maryobrienbarcoe2639 6 днів тому +1

      @@user-rf8hb4dn7c Hi I just looked at my notes from a while ago because I eyeball it now. So for an oval bowl with lid I use 400grams of cement and 800grams of sand and I used 190-195grams of water. Mix it well and when you think your happy with your mix then start spooning it into your mold in 2 or 3 stages. Be sure to tap the mold off your surface for a few second to release air bubbles in between spooning it in. I have no problems demolding after 12 hours. None. Now I will say I don't use acrylic paint using cement and sand as I found it not to work but I do marble with 2 pigment colours. I hope this helps you and I think you will be happy.

    • @upvibecandle
      @upvibecandle  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks. Efflorescence is a water issue. Balance it better as best you can, both humidity and content, and it will get better moving forward.

    For Jai’s formula, what does the benefit of adding plaster and concrete ? As a newbie - seems as if plaster and concrete serve the same purpose

  • @alisongleeson8529
    @alisongleeson8529 6 місяців тому +1

    Hi Jai, I've been using Jai's Formula for a while, it's the original double plaster, cement and sand ratio..... I notice you changed it to double sand later, just wondering if you ever tried double cement, single sand and single plaster?? Just want to know your thoughts on the differences in ratios, thanks!! (I'm gonna test for myself too of course!)

    • @upvibecandle
      @upvibecandle  6 місяців тому +1

      Cement is the paste and sand is the aggregate that makes it hard so adding more cement will weaken the vessel.

    I’m new to all this but I thought resin was flammable, so will it catch fire if I used it as a candle vessel

    • @upvibecandle

      Resin can be toxic, not necessarily flammable. However, I didn't use resin. Watch it again and you will see.

    Just to say I also tried Resincrete is not good for candle jars. There are a lot of crafters using that. There’s another if you want to look up Jesin it sets very quickly they are new to America also.

      Yes I know. And that is precisely why it's not on the list.
