Great song! Rod's voice still sounds nearly identical, almost 50 years later!! Keith & Woody had great chemistry, even before Ronnie joined 'The Boys,' 2 months later.
Keith and Ronnie having great chemistry Hah! that had me rolling, but yeah they certainly did in both senses.
All these famous guys are having a great time. The best time in rock & roll.
Faces continued for another 11 months after this gig and included 2 full tours of the USA and and anyone who saw them would testify they were on top of their game ...Faces true Masters of good time rock'n'roll
At this point maybe the greatest front man in rock'n'roll. He worked the mic stand like Hendrix worked the guitar
Keith and Rod played for us for more than 5 decades. 6 decades for Keith with the Stones. Will play for more until music lives.
Holy shit! What a treasure.
Keith Richards is so cool, pictures of him are better than air conditioning 🥶😎
Such a great fun moment of music and pure performance.
Glad you are enjoying this.
Ok I have to use that 😂
"The best audience in the World!"
Rod's words...
Thank you for sharing! 💖
My favourite rod era.
Always a party with Rod around.
Rod’s voice has gone from the finest gravel voiced rock/soul/blues hollerer to a bare whisper these days?!
Brilliant
Kickin ass❤❤❤❤❤
Great song, Rod is awesome as a lead. The rest of the boys are super awesome too.
This was a few months after Mick Taylor left the stones. Also around the time of recording the Black and Blue album which Ronnie guested on. I wonder if either of knew they would be playing together into their 80's.
Love Keef playing “Dust my Broom” in the intro
What a great show of musicianship
awesome i love this sing it rod
Saw Faces at the old Boston Garden. Great show right b up there with the Stones and Kinks.
This was shown on the Midnight Special but I think it was from England.
Saw this Faces lineup at MSG NYC 1975 Ron played an instrumental slide version of Motherless children stole the show
Great waves Ronnie Wood!
This song from Sam Cooke is priceless. Twisting the night away, but most of Sam's songs didn't get the airplay till after his murder.
Sam had a lot of RnB hits
Twisting The Night Away!...a Sam Cooke Classic! ... and Rod sings it so well here. Cool the way they switch grooves on this. Is that Nicky Hopkins on piano?
Ian McLagan 😀
As Deebee said, it's the Small Faces and Faces musician Ian McLagan, who later formed The Bump Band.
An ole goody by SAM COOK, he would have been proud. Rip Sam Cook.
Keith is like “mind if I poach your lead guitar and piano player?”
SAW ROD IB BUDAPEST , FROM JOHN IN NORTH CAROLINA , .
Keith solando é sempre um belo e raro espetáculo.
Is that Tetsu Yamauchi on bass?? He played with Free & Paul Kossoff between 1973/1974, too. 😎
That intro is by Jack Daughtery. The YARDBIRDS pinched it and called it " The Nazz are Blue"
Enorme ! Dommage que la camera filme tout sauf les mains de Keith !
At 0:35 Keith Richards has never smile this way since a long time (on scene) and more, Rod Steward was allowed to put a cap on Keith's head. Wow, impossible for Jagger to touch Keith on scene.
1:22 1:44 3:23 4:22 Very strange "blackbox" hiding brands on Steinway and bass drum but not always. Why? God only knows.
Is that Ronnie playing great slide guitar? The cameraman misses a lot here!
What does Keith do here that Woody can't? Nothing. And Kenny Jone's insistent (boring) back beat doesn't swing at all. He falls into that trap sometimes, e.g. playing a 4-bar backbeat w/ The Who on "I Can See for Miles" on tour.
50 bloody years ago.. Where, how, what????
Richards was moonlighting a lot with Woodsville in '74.Did he know something Mick Taylor didn't?
Complete with grated parmigiana on stage
Mac 🙏🙏
Change out this rhythm section for Andy Newmark and Willie weeks and you have the band that recorded Ron Woods first solo lp "I've Got My Own Album to Do" It's a spectacular album.
Better than "It's only RocknRoll" and "Smiler"LP from the same year (1974).
Hey Boss, what's our confetti budget this week? ....$10,000??!! Well...ooookay ..
This is NOT the midnight special, but rather The Faces final live gig at the Kilburn Empire in North London..
Keef playing Dust My Broom
This Full concert aired on the Midnight Special.
Was this taped in 1974 in Kilburn?
Great stuff, it would be nice to list all the musician credits.
Yes, Agreed!
John, I'll fill in the blanks for you. In addition to Rod, of course his sidekick Ronnie Wood is there. Keith Richards joined them, just for this special performance. Kenney Jones is on drums and Ian McLagan plays piano. Tetsu Yamauchi is on bass guitar. Ronnie Lane left the band in 1973, Tetsu joined them shortly thereafter, and played with them for a few years.
@@weswaselenchuk9906 Thanks!! My comment was more to give the channel a nudge to list all the credits when possible but your knowledge is appreciated!!
John ... I presumed that your intent was just as you stated to me. Just thought I'd clarify the band members for anyone who was curious. Thanks for your kind response.
*Wanna See A Match Burn Twice?* 🔥
Engine Search the *Black Crowes* after this performance!
🎸
Smart move on the *Black Crowes* part to immulate *Faces!.*
Around 1975, *Ronny Wood* started playin' w/ *Stones!*
(Full Circle)
*Rod Stewart* slaughters *Mick Jagger* on Lead Vocals tho!
...Hey!... *"I know! It's only Rock-&-Roll but I like it!*
Sounds like dust my broom or Highway 49.
Yeah the guys in Faces were not happy at all at this show 'cause they knew then that Ron Wood was leaving the band to join the Stones, and then he had the gall to invite Keith to come play with them! LOL
Lots coke on the set that night😂
Again a pr t camera man , who wants to see Stewart putting on his coat while there is some good guitar playing going on
Who was that on bass? Because it wasn't Ronnie Lane.
That's the great Tetsu Yamauchi after Lane left. 😊
That stuff falling down at the end of the song? Cocaine.
Alex ... Methinks you've had a tad too much COUGH SYRUP!
without cocaine there wouldn't have been the 70"s!!
If you read Rods book, then you how Rod did cocaine. And I am a huge Rod fan!
Can you imagine? Ah, the good old days...
Ronnie was loyal to Rod but not at the direction Rod wanted to go musically.
Rod Stewart looks like a fool.
