Bruh....I did not know to do that step when you hit record to add the sequences into song with the pads!! I've been inserting them the whole time. And I've had the Ren, touch, live and mpc x!! A big DUHHHH moment. And i been said,, " it would be cool if I could hit the pads to insert sequences" duhhhh Thanks bruh!!

Thanks man, good video. The song mode really makes sense to me. Maybe even more so then laying songs out on the timeline of Ableton.

@@BoloDaProducer hey man i’ve been tweaking my gain stage settings, and my MPC output and monitor knobs are set up just like yours. in order to get accurate metering all the way through my system i had to change my apollo X6 input ref level to -10. what about you?

Hi there Bolo, a few words of thanks first, it's very nice to see the simple and straightforward way you have of explaining this stuff.
Before checking in here the whole sequencing - song mode was a mystery to me, so this video is great for me.
I come from a CoolEditPro background, so now on Reason, thus a very linear way of working, very unlike FL or Ableton.
Now my question is the following:
Is it possible, once we have created the whole sequence with beat, loops, samples, maybe some bass, to add a 'parallel' kind of recording, covering the whole sequence?
I'm talking about vocals, acoustic or electric guitar, stuff like that?

Watching you I finally know how to set up my sequence to make a song but when go to the pad mute page and up where it says program which I put the name of my drum program, I'm trying to set each of my 6 sequences up turning the knob and it's not going to any of my sequences at all. How do I get that fixed so I can make my song?
The only thing I don't like about sequencing that way was is if I mix later and move a volume fader down in the verse sequence it won't change in the chorus sequence volume. I just started using one sequence. Then figuring out how many bars I'll need (4 bar intro, 12 bar verse, 8 bar chorus = 24 Bars total). Double the sequence length then delete the parts I don't want.
you can still do it this same way, but convert the song into a sequence. after that you can automate everything once you have it all mapped out

Im having an issue when i do song mode. I arrange it how i want and its good but when i convert to sequence it butchers it and it becomes all off beat. And yes everything is the same tempo

MPC is a more hands on workflow and integrated better with controls. But if you're ok with using more touch controls BM3 it's an incredible value.
@@st.thomas5802 TY....I ended up with the IPad because I use it for other stuff too. Plus the apps are cheaper than me trying buy sounds and I actually find it easier for production. I tried the MPC in stores and the work flow wasn’t for me.

Same process without touch screen. Just have to rely on Computer screen instead
so when you load it into your daw will it come out as one track song or chopped separately that's all I need to know

Was thinking about getting an mpc x along with a roli seaboard. I dont know how to play a keyboard, i want to use it for the 5 dimensions for expression to briing life to beat making. I seen you had a roli, do you recommend it?

Just go to plugin icon and a drop down menu should show up to select plugins
