Every time I use my MPC X SE I love it more and more. It’s an exciting machine to work with. Having phantom power and being able to use effects on the vocals right in the MPC with very great sounding recordings is amazing and simplifies a lot of my work flow. The full amount of Q-links when using the plugins and adjusting pad parameters is really game changing. I have no complaints. The only other instrument that I feel this passionate and love as much with no complaints is my Waldorf Iridium Keyboard version.

Also , Maybe this a loaner unit Akai sent which would make since why it’s being featured and demonstrated for trap. Also it as 4gb of ram instead of 2gb so it can handle more effects and plugins without being close to reaching the cpu limit
Big Bolo! I want to thank you for the video! I just bought an MPC2500 and in my search for general usage, I found this video. From my JBL Soundbar, it all sounded the same. Had I listened with headphones I think it’d been easier to notice the difference. That said, I can say I did notice, in my use of my MpC2500 & my Live 2, the punch seems a little stronger on the 2500. I just assumed cuz it’s an older electronic. I feel just like you say tho, it’s what the person likes!

I purchased Mini D and Flavor the second day after getting my MPC X SE. I like both and yes I feel like Akai should have included them increased the RAM to 8GB and packed it a special edition box and not just a shipping box. But I have no complaints because I totally am in love with my MPC C SE

Heh.... Every time I see the new MPC X SE, I think, "Dang, that looks good." followed real quick by something a rat-rod enthusiast told me when I was a Teen, "It ain't the paint; it's the performance." So, how is that bad boy under the hood compared to the original X?
No surprise that it's great for trap producers. Trap producers typically have no qualms about messing with synth sounds and making tracks that aren't sample based. I'm a southerner (GA native) who does boom bap BUT I don't really go the sample route. I prefer using the plugins (in my case either VSTs in Logic or the plugins in my Live 2) in order to create my own melodies, so I can understand why that SE would be appealing when it's fully stocked and has more RAM that can keep from having to deal with lag if one were to use multiple plugins at once. Good stuff, my dude.

I've had my MPC X since they were first released and stopped using it almost 2 years ago because I got sick and tired of not being able to take advantage of all the VST's I own and use with FL Studio. I hated the corny ass instruments/plugins that were built into the MPC X. Is this something only the SE has or do I just need to update my X and I'll have all this as well? Please let me know! I've been lightweight itching to pull it out. But I'm so used to FL Studio and all my VST's on FL Studio that it seems a bit pointless to even mess with the MPC X these days! Thanks

If you're just using the mpc format, then just save your projects to sd card. Each different mpc would need all the same instrument plug-ins tho.
