I appreciate a producer who is entirely open to share the secrets of their craft and not only that but also guide all those who are new to the art. God bless u brother ur videos have a played part to inspire me back to my love for music production would love it for u to hear my work and give me some feedback since im new to the mpc software. .take care hermano..Ain’t no high like the feeling of creating a banger! Love from the uk.
This is how you do it! It’s BEST to work the hardware first then look at the software. I had the MPC app since 1.8 and couldn’t understand it AT ALL. Once I bought my Live 2 last year and learned to do everything in the hardware I can now work the program! It’s crazy! Also, I love my One Odio headphones. Weird name but they sound good!
Peace bro, I just recently found your channel. I love your workflow and creativity. The delay on the hi hats and using multiple hi hats tuned slightly has been a game changer. Keep up the great work man, solid approach to making beats.
Can you make a video from how to set up how to make a beat from scratch. Like straight out of the box. A close up of the drum machine and the buttons to press.. I know all the basics of making a beat but I wanted to know how to place sounds on different pads and making the next sequence and saving. Also linking the MPCX to the computer like you have it now.
This video showed me about track pad and muting... Much appreciated. Keep doing your thing bro.. you'll be hearing from me and my beats... You have a live stream schedule I can peep?? I'm always late to a party.
You make some of the best instructional / informational MPC videos I've seen and I want to thank you for that. One thing I'm curious about is that you always seem to work in double time (or half time depending on your point of view), why is that? I've heard you point it out but I don't think I've heard you explain why you do it. Thanks!
Much thanks. Glad the videos help. It all depends on the flow of the track im creating. The more intricate the track is the better I can create using double time. The same can be done in any one. I just get a better sense in double time.
@@MITTEL.PUNKT_13 I've been watching his vids on my other account for awhile now and he has lots of good content . I'm just looking for something more comprehensive for basics as if I've never used a mpc before.
I have the MPC live and have been thinking about moving up to the X I guess the main question I have is does the bigger screen make note edits much easier?
My problem is I’ll catch a vibe and then I’m browsing through sounds and it takes so long to find sounds that I lose interest so how can you efficiently get through sounds in like a quick manner?
"Analysis Paralysis" This is when you have too much at your disposal so you spend more time searching than creating. Clear your sounds. Get rid of them and only keep what is needed. Force yourself to work with what you have. More creativity less searching. 👍🏾
@@DaDrankKang Thanks for replying so quick. You have a good point and it makes sense. I have owned my mpc live 2 for a couple years now and I just find the sounds and instruments just boring, you have been doing this longer then me so what do you think of them? If you were to choose one plug-in to work with which is the one that you think offers the most? Sorry about all the questions man I just been in a rut with music lately
Simply put... it ain't my music. So you do the research and pick what you want. The point is not what you use. The point is to simplify your sounds so you can create more than search.
I dont have a usual setting. It depends on the beat. In this beat is was set to 16th. When you create music try to always let the music dictate your settings. This way you don't stay inside a box making beats.
1. Thank you, as always. 2. It is CRIMINAL that you aren't at 100K subscribers. I'm thinking about filing charges. 3. This beat is FIRE, and reminds me of that guy Devvon Terrell, who sings this style. Hook up for a cook up?
@@DaDrankKang 100% doing them cuz I want to, you can check my music out I got 3 records out on all platforms. listen to memories, my debut song and you'll understand that no one is on my level. as a music producer I got the craziest vision , im changing the world homie. listen to memories and you'll see im just on another level.

Very articulate and organized presentation - nice production values also --- quite useful content ---- the whole package - thanks
No samples, no melodic loop packs, laid melodies in pretty much a one pass. Respect.
The beauty of simplicity 🙏🏾
@@DaDrankKang facts. I don't have sampling in my repotoir, so I just write the melodics and lay those drums, manually!
Nice video just helped me out with that bounce... I hear a New Orleans type of flow in your work
Man, I feel like I am back in college. DZD, you are an amazing instructor. The absolute best on UA-cam. You are on another level, brother. Blessings!

Please explain why you use the other buttons on the MPCX as you start a new beat right after you cut it on.
I dont understand. Which buttons are you talking about? I use alot of buttons on the MPC
How do you use your headphones vs monitors in your studio? Getting ideas
Monitors are for general use and over all sound. Headphones are for detailed subtle sounds.

How do you change the note repeat time correction from the screen to the buttons underneath?
The Function button above the main button on the mpc x
