  • A video about how to arrange your beats using "song mode" in the MPC One (Live or X). Also, I cover how to export your beats. The first part of the video is about song structuring for those that don't know how to do that. Let me know if this video was helpful? Please leave a comment below.

UPDATE!: I realized I actually messed up the part at 4:06. You need to hit the pencil option on the right side of the sequence options, then hit 2x length until you get how many bars you like, and finally adjust the amount of bars. If you don't do this you will get empty spaces in your beat! My bad, I kind of rushed the video.

It's all good 💯💯 a lot of people complain about MPC sequencer. It's just different linear is faster but this way is more fun. Hopefully an update will give us the option to arrange loops on a timeline in the same window

Congrats. Best purchase I ever made too. Changed the way I approach making music. You gotta watch a ton of videos though because there are just too many ways to use it. Its incredible how powerful it is. One example is Bouncing tracks to Sample....make complex tracks, mute out parts...Bounce them to Sample....create a new project...browse for the samples....make a song from them in Song Mode.....too much fun!

I do not want this when I'm learning to sample and chop, or sequence etc. I want you talking about all the details. Great f'ing tutorials. Highly educational. Thank you sir. Very nice, this very mode is one of the reasons I went with the MPC over the Machine. Sequences within sequences gets really powerful when you start thinking about something like an intro->verse->chorus ->verse->chrous ->bridge / drop ->chorus ->chorus ->end. Each place where I put a space in in this kind of setup, you can do things like simply adding or removing effects, or using automation for effects for some crazy variety. For example, my bridge / drops, I like to use the lowfi filter with the distortion fx and really amp it up, and then keep that same fx on for the first chorus after the drop, then take those filters off when the chorus repeats near the end. Then, you can start doing really crazy things like my current project, a 1 hour 12 minute continuous audio file that contains six songs that seemlessly transition into the next song (no gap between a song ending).
While I pretty much know how to use the MPC, I just wish they would fix some of the quirky things, like, I dunno, when I make a new track, why would it not be automatically selected?
Also, if you have a spare MPC Live 2, Ill take it, I really could use the external speakers, I still have the MPC Live 1 and the external speakers would be great for writing at work (currently have to tote around usb powered speakers)
