Me and my friends started doing a craft secret Santa during lockdown. Every year we have a different person to make for and a different theme.
This year I got my nightmare before Christmas obsessed friend, so I'm making her a Sally's dress inspired scarf. It's cost maybe £15 and the ones online that are close to it are like £50. So yay for crafting!

4:17 that’s a Banksia seedpod! A Banksia tree is native to Australia and have these beautiful flower heads which when die off and seeds are released from those eye looking bits. I’ve seen small businesses here sand it down to turn it into an oil diffuser 😊

Tip to keep the yarn stops rolling around while crochet/knitting is to pull the center yarn end instead of the one that's wrap around the outside if that make sense. Makes life easier:)
Works with thick yarn like she has, but with thinner yarn, you can end up with a tangled mess as the inner part collapses. For thinner yarn, put the skein in a big smooth (inside) container and it can roll around without rolling away.
I always put mine in a big wooden bowl stops it from rolling all over the place 😂🥰

Kelsey's "i made a thing" at 14:18, I understood so much, I have just finished making my Christmas gifts for my godparents and grandparents and crochet can be really challenging. And you feel so proud of yourself when you're done. Kelsey, once you start crochet you won't stop, and it makes you feel like you do not know how to count.
My grandma tried to teach me she was great but I can’t pull yarn through my fingers very long, it’s like someone who hates styrofoam rubbing. I have tons of respect for knitters and crocheters👏👏👏👏
So I do cross stitching rather than crochet, but the feeling that you don't know how to count is SOOO relatable omg!! 😅🙈

Each gift was thoughtful in its own way, but seriously, TSG needs to give Rochelle her flowers! 💐 Especially in her first few months of being a Sorry Girl host! I don't know the first thing about woodworking but it was incredibly interesting (and cool) to watch the walkthrough of the exotic woods store, her practising on scrap wood, brainstorm her way through the measurements, and make the keyhole brackets. Becky's was really interesting too (felt like I was watching a Lee Valley workshop!) very cozy and empowering video

When I first saw Kelsey put thread the end of the crochet needle I was like omg what are you gonna try?!? Glad she figured it out with tutorials. I still follow tutorial videos whenever I'm doing a new pattern for crochet. I love that I've done crochet for a few years now 'cause it's very versatile for many projects and more flexible than knitting (which I tried for a week but couldn't get the hang of before switching to crochet instead). You can also get a hand crank knitting loom if you're a yarn craft person who wants to make projects quick.
Also, we need a tour of Rochelle's workshop! Looks amazing!

I got a luggage flip out stand at Value Village..it is handy for unpacking or guest when they come to visit ..when not using it for suitcases..We got a tray that fit on top of it and use is as a small table multi purpose

For the luggage rack, you can re-purpose a folding tv tray by removing the top and recycling leather belts for the straps. Great ideas ladies!

I love all the gifts, they each were so thoughtful and well made! I love the idea of giving accessories for an item that’s used everyday and I love the blue and purple color palette that Rachel chose! I also love the idea of making something that the person likes or needs from scratch and Becky and Rochelle killed it! And Kelsey really did a great job making those bows and giving the sweater new life; I’m surprised she did it all in one day (it would’ve taken me weeks to learn how to do one!)

Becky - I have a luggage stand in my spare bedroom. I bought it about 15 years ago, and gave one to my parents, also. Guests often tell me how nice it is to have a place to put their suitcase up off the floor. I’ve never seen one in a store, and often wonder why not.
