I do love the Fire Emblem series but it's really nice too see some of those characters from previous games return in the new game. Not gonna lie, but I think the franchise is really started to improve much more from its lore and the medieval themes which I love about how the series looks.

In 2020, Heroes got TMS characters added to the game to promote the then upcoming Switch port.
Kinda wish Eliwood was in a pair with Hector since they're such good friends. I also just want to see someone use the Durandal in this game.

Of all the characters that I would have wanted to be a duo, I couldn't have asked for a better pair. Awakening is probably my favorite FE and having Chrom and Robin back in any small part makes my day. Hopefully wave 3 isn't too far out.
Though I don't own the game or Switch, I'm so excited to hear that Robin is back (And is male Robin:))

Kinda would have preferred the female Robin, so that there could be a moment where Lucina is like "Hi, mom! Hi, dad!" But I'm still happy to see Chrom & Robin are even coming to the game at all. I am admittedly a bit surprised that it's only Veronica representing Heroes though, as I would have expected her to be part of a "trio" ring like the Three Houses lords alongside Alphonse & Sharena.
I would admittedly have liked to see Shez make it in too though. ....But who knows, maybe they'll surprise us and announce a second Expansion Pas sometime later where they add more characters.
But for the upcoming story DLC, part of me is kinda hoping that it actually gives us a "villain" storyline for once where we actually get to play as the bad guy, and to that end they could even add Emblem Rings for some of the franchise's most noteworthy villains, such as Gharnef for Shadow Dragon, The Black Knight for Path of Radiance & Radiant Dawn, Kronya/Solon/Thales for Three Houses/Hopes, Gangrel or Walhart for Awakening, Garon for Fates, etc.

The only reason I can think of them being shafted is because they are Sword units, but still I wanna see them as Emblem Rings...throw in Sothe and Lyon for some diversity in the classes
They might get in later down the line the same way. Chrom is a bond ring too but he's still coming in as a DLC Emblem.

Interesting to see that Emblem Veronica has Kiran's Summoning ability without his/her unique artifact! And this is Post-Season 5 Veronica too!
To be fair its never been talked about how she summons.
Her role seems to be a mix of Alphonse and Kiran in regards to Embla's Order, at least till Letizia came in as seeming leader of it. So it makes sense that she can Summon like Kiran. Not to mention Embla had a False Breidablik so it's possible that there was a time where Embla and Askr both could use it and within that time, Embla figured out how to mimic that power without needing it before those relations broke down, leading to Veronica's Summoning ability.
Oh I was wondering why she looked like that. I haven’t played hero’s for like 2 years 😭
Her look is actually due to the recent story. Embla herself tried to use Veronica as a pawn, granting her more power in doing so. That's where this appearance came from. It's her Legendary Alt.
At the end of the book she officially made peace with Askr and is an ally to Alphonse and co.

I'm willing to bet they do, since both of the already released sets of Emblems from the same game do. There'll probably also be one for Chrom and Lucina, for Corrin and Camilla, and for Hector and Roy.

Ironically, we took two divergent paths. Awakening was also my first FE game, but playing all of the other games made it my least favorite in the series since the other entries made me realize that Awakening is just really mediocre in every category.
@@Jordan3DS thank you ^^ well every fire emblem experience is unique and nice in its own way but... I honestly see what you mean. As someone who managed to play all FE as well, I definitely understand bc I myself did indeed notice how many other games were superior in some points. Tbf, I wouldn't even say that awakening is my fav FE (thanks to Radiant dawn, shadows and 3H lmao) but it got me into the franchise so... Awakening will always be so precious to me, just like Robin
I'm so happy that Soren is finally getting the recognition he deserves. He's such a nuanced and memorable character, and he was (although he didn't know it) so instrumental to everything that happened in the Radiant series.
It always made me sad that he rarely ever got acknowledged outside of the Tellius games, so I'm very glad that this is happening!
...That being said, it's incredibly weird to see him without his signature red eyes. 😂

Soren+Ike made such a great impression that is only rivaled by how amazing Tellius lore/politics were. Like you knew what was going on everywhere, countie's past and motives/ideals included. I could still draw a freaking map with all countries out of memory. But ask me anything about other titles I love equally? I'd blank on the continent's history.
What I’m most excited for is wave 4 for the new story this was my first fire emblem game and I had a great time so I can’t wait for wave 4 as I said

To be fair it's not all that unexpected. This game has Heroes Easter eggs all over it. Summoning past heroes, Aether Raids (although renamed), SP mechanic, Tempest Trials, plus you can get the Heroes Trio weapons by linking both games to your Nintendo account. My Chloé rocked Sharena's lance the entire game, Boucheron had Anna's axe and Alfonse's sword got passed over a few times.
Edit: Forgot to mention since the other 3 main characters from Heroes got representation (their weapons and bond rings), it was only right for Veronica to step up.
Azura got shafted again! Not only was she left out from Fire Emblem Warriors base game (glad they made up for it with DLC focusing on her), they left her out here AND worst yet, the translators messed up the title of Camilla's Bracelet, because it's called Conquest in Japanese, but here, it's called Revelations, which is the route Camilla was hardly apart of and Azura had a huge role in...
Oh Intelligent Systems... I don't hate Camilla, but I don't think she was the right pick, if you were gonna pick a second Fates rep, but I guess I have to settle.

I think it was a decision based more on mechanics then character I think that the nail in the coffin for Azura was Byleth basically having the dancer functionality built into his utility, between that and the utter lack of a flying unit emblem they chose camillia.

They should add Casual mode since that mode is what saved the franchise.

@@emils1615 You say this. but there are people who cant play on classic because they cant keep anything alive on normal. 3H had an easy mode for those people. Also casual does still have a purpose. Having perma death with time crystal still means that you need to clear the whole map with no deaths unless you are ok losing a unit. Casual mode offers well casual players the option to yeet units in the same way the AI does. It doesn't matter if they die since they come back. This subtle difference is enough that its here to stay. If they remove it there is a pretty decent section of the population that cant clear to the tutorial

Honestly, I'm happy Camilla got in. She's my favorite character from Fates.
Heroes absolutely deserved some representation.
I updated my game, saw there was DLC and checked out the map. I wondered based on the name and then lost my mind when I saw Hector's bracelet colours and then saw he was in the game. I had no idea this was coming having missed all announcements and/or spoilers beyond the first DLC wave. I wondered if they would pair him with Eliwood similar to the 3Hourses but I'm beyond thrilled Hector gets in the game. Eliwood was always a bit generic and cookie cutter whereas Hector was a big armored axe wielding machine.
For the Fell Xenologue story the you can see that the hooded figure isn’t the main villain. It’s Fogado. Just look at his necklace and compare. We’re gonna have a bad ending alternate timeline story I think.
I am so happy to see Hector.

Awakenings story had a lot about bonds stronger then steel and such.
Wish I could say I know more than Chrom and Robin. That’s the curse of being a Smash player whose first FE game is Engage.

Hector can cancel enemy attacks while granting himself follow ups, he also can become unbreakable, pretty diff to ike

You’d think they would’ve done what they did with Three Houses and given the Nohrian siblings a bracelet to share and the Hoshidan siblings one.
No, instead they decided to make the worst of the siblings a singular emblem. That’s 30 some dollars that I wasted.
Even though I wish we had emblem Alm, Elincia and Ephraim, I think everyone in the Fire Emblem community can agree that the representation for previous games in Engage is top notch. Especially considering how lackluster it was in the original FE Warriors.

Pretty sure DLC choices are the most popular characters from their respective games (minus the main Lords) based on FE Heroes CYL results for the first 5 years.
CYL1 has Hector, CYL2 has Veronica, CYL3 has Camilla, Chrom, Robin and Soren is pretty recent though.
(With Robin and Soren just winning last week)
I really wish we would get an Askr Trio ring similar to the 3H Lords ring in the future, just to see if they would interact with Veronica.
@@RenShinomiya121 Chrom, Robin, and Soren consistently got high votes in previous years though even if they didn't get top 2 until the last two CYL. They certainly got the highest votes for their games besides the ones who were already Emblems in Engage.
