Absolutely agree! This is my first season riding and initially bought a Vulcan 650s which weighs 490 lbs. After putting on 11,000 kms, I upgraded to a Road Glide. I was extremely nervous about how I’d do on it, but within minutes the bike felt like home and I’ve never looked back!! Absolutely in LOVE with it.
I went from a Vulcan 900 to a HD Dyna FXD and man, the difference in power and I am 5'5, i lay both feet on the ground but on tippy toe, I've gotten really comfortable with it and love it.
Recently subscribed. I agree 100%. Recently upgraded from softail standard to an Ultra Limited. After about two weeks or so, didn’t even think about it. Very maneuverable and handles easily with smooth controls.
Thank you. Got mine on 6-20-23. A 2016 RGS with 10k miles and a stage one upgrade. Yes in dead its a heavy beast and very intimidating. I'm still learning how to handle the weight at slow speeds and getting out of my garage and driveway. A lot different than my 99 heritage that I traded in for. Well worth it. It does handle very well compared to what I'm used to. The stage one upgrade makes it scary fast. I'm very happy. Thanks for your information it's giving me more confidence. Stay safe out there.
Beautiful bike... thanks for your opinion... making the move from a 1000 cc sportbike to my 1st bagger. Lucky for me my neighbor works on bikes and I had the chance to ride a few. Can't believe I waited this long in life to make the move, comfortable is an understatement. Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you for this video man i recently got my license through Harley Davidson and have been looking at bikes my dream bike is a street glide but I was worried about if I could handle it but I believe I can
I started back riding in 07 after not riding 15 years and jumped back in on a Sportster my wife bought me during their special. But after test riding a Street Glide in 08, I found it easier to handle than the Sportster and been on one ever since. Now if I were to do it over again, I would have put aside the ugly fairing bias and went with the Road Glide.
Liked & Subscribe, thank you for making this video, gaining confidence every day, been riding a 750 for 12 years, just got my first Road Glide❤, look forward to all your content. Aloha from Hawaii, Mahalo from Kenneth 🤙🏽
Great information and as always, well-presented and entertaining. I am new to riding and just went through the Harley course and got my endorsement. I know that a bike this size is not usually recommended for a new rider, but I am late 40s and am a bigger guy (6'5" 260lbs). I sat on the Low Rider and looked like I was on my kid's toy. I sat on a Road Glide special and really liked it. I am just worried about it being my first bike (everyone says you will drop it a lot). What are your thoughts?
@@joecushing2656 Thanks! Yeah, I am definitely going to take it easy for sure. The cowboy days are behind me for sure. I have always wanted to ride and now I have the time to do so. Any thoughts on new vs. used?
@preston Fowler I bought a used Street Glide for my first bike, and then the next year bought a brand new Road Glide special. Let the used bike take all the dings of getting comfortable, and didn’t invest a ton of money until i was sure i loved it. Can’t go wrong either way in my opinion as long as you’re getting out there.
Thank you, bro for making this type of video. I don’t have one yet… so, you think I need to upgrade the suspension? What do you think about upgrading the handle bars right away? Other dudes have said, “put some miles on the stock, first.” I’m curious to what you think. HEATED GRIPS? Hella gangster, lol !
Good video , sold my sports bike 2 years ago and now wanting one of these after having not ridden the whole time . Maybe im wrong about it being too much bike ?
Finally planning to go test a Road Glide and Indian Challenger tomorrow or Friday. It definitely felt a little intimidating sitting on it at 5’6” but I just gotta do it to be able to make up my mind. Comfortable going with the Low Ride ST as the choice but I am excited to see what the bagger thing is all about. Thanks for the insight. 👍🏾
It seems that you ride your bike very easily in the traffic and round town, I had a Road king classic before with the 16" laced wheels and the big tires, I found it was not very nimble, particulary in France where we have smaller roads and I ride very often in the mountain and twistys, and I was pretty tired after riding. So I went down on a M8 Heritage which is very much easier to drive and I am very happy with it, but I wonder if I could have a Road Glide for my rides before I am gettibg to old (I am 63) because I like this bike very much for the look, the protection of the big fairing (I ride all year long, I have no car) I am 5 feet 11 inches and I was quite easily flat footed on the Road King, but the problem was I didn't feel very confident in the twistys with the Road King, its a big bike and you have to be very careful not to loose control, I fill very much confident on the Heritage, so I realy want to know if ti is the same with the Road Glide. Thank's for all your videos. greetings from France.
Thanks for the vid! I ride a Ducati Monster Cafe Racer and I am looking at adding a Road Glide to the stable as well. This was helpful. This will be my first time on a bike that heavy but I am 6'5, 230 pounds, so I think I will do fine. Beautiful bike!
Yo big June Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you and your family looking forward to listening to you and Jerry discussing Harley Davidson discontinued bikes for 2023 .
I need a bigger bike because I'm 6 foot 4 inches tall. I know a street glide is a good one and a Fatboy. But what are some other options on bikes that'll fit someone my size comfortably?
Good video bro! I haven’t rode a road glide yet. Next time demo days are at my dealer I’m going to ride one . Lol Question about your cam? So I know you’re changing the SE Cam out soon. I’m planning to put the SE torque cam on my Milwaukee. You didn’t like them or why the change? You seem really happy with the cam & sound when you did the test ride video.
Big and heavy isn't a problem as long as the ergos allow leverage and comfort to the rider. Problem is Harley keeps selling bikes with low seats and high floorboards to attract girly riders that won't fit on a properly set up Harley. This causes normal male riders to feel like they are squished in place and off balance. On some Harley a normal male rider will be so off balance as to be deadly dangerous. It really is a shame. If Harley would just admit these extremely large motorcycles are meant to be ridden by six foot tall males all would be well. But they wish to defy physics and common sense to make a few more sales. After saying all that I repeat that this model road glide and the police model are still very ridable with a few adjustments. The rest of the lineup has problems varying from one degree of awkwardness to another.
Rdrs, does it come on all touring models? Like the Street Glide. 5'11 , 230 lbs. Never drove a big bike. Everything you said would apply to all touring models? I appreciate all your content. Ride Safe MK 87 👍
Definitely doesn't come standard on all models. RDRS is standard on CVO, optional on others. If it has the T/C button on left handle it's got the RDRS though.
I used my lunch to go down to the Harley dealer today and man it felt heavy on the showroom floor. It got more comfortable to play with the longer I sat there though. That dead weight is real though lol. The sales guy showed me a custom Road Glide Special performance build they were working on for a customer that was sick bruh. Full Ohlins front and rear with the gold for tubes, some slick mid controls, blacked out. Blew my mind. It’s the tech, the customizing options, and being able to comfortably ride with my wife that has me wanting to learn how to take one of these 900lb beasts instead getting a more nimble Indian Challenger or Low Rider ST lol.
I hate the fairing layout. Indian Challenger gauge and touchscreen layout is 10x better imo. More power, better ride, and power windscreen on the Indian are more bonuses.
I'm 5'2" and I ride the Street Glide Special. I ride it at stock height, and I definitely recommend a narrow and low-profile seat. These bikes aren't too bad to pick up if you know how to pick it up. I dropped mine on a slanted driveway because I thought wearing my flipflops was a good idea 🙄
With the bars looking quite a bit lower than on your low rider, how is the comfort? Are you still sitting upright or leaning forward? I’m curious about fit for a short rider, similar to you, for distance. It took a while to dial in a soft tail and it’s tough to figure out proper rider triangle on a whole new platform.
What if you are not already on a bike and this is your first bike? Ever. lol Well technical the first bike will be the one I use at the HD Training Course.
If you get the reply. I need it for long days and around town. Reliable . Anything that I should know about the aftermarket cams. Any input be great ride safe.

It might be this year or next year, but I'm pretty sure I will own a Road Glide at some point. Fantastic motorcycle!
I've had four Street Glides and everyone says get a Road Glide. I'm waiting to see what 2023 has. I do hate the Road Glide handle bars.
I love my Road Glide! It's so easy to ride!

Comming from alot of enduro trail ridding would it be a smooth transition or do u think I should stay with more lean bike like nakeds
How is low speed maneuvering with that stationary frame bolted fairing?

I'd say with those rubber bands for tires that it would be more scary to ride. We have last count 7 bent front rims.
What kind of mirrors are those?
