Whoever buys this bike, you are getting a great Road Glide Ultra. I know because this is my old bike! I traded it in a few weeks ago for a 2018 Goldwing Tour. The tires are fairly new, rear has about 3K and the front a bit over 1K. It's been properly maintained and serviced, and the only issue I had in 19K miles was the water pump, which was replaced with a new one about 4K miles ago. Other than that she is tip top and runs fantastic. She's been out to Glacier Nat Park, down to the Smokies, and up into Maine and on top of Mt. Washington. She's a great touring machine, and to whoever buys her, congratulations on a great Harley! :)
Why did you get a Goldwing? The tank is smaller, storage is smaller, and they have no soul. Meh to each their own. I will give Goldwing props for the power delivery though.
imo soul is what you give to the Bike by riding it, not what some marketing people want you to think about it.
Why did I trade the RGU for a new Wing? I just enjoy riding it more, it took me three test rides to make sure but thats the reason. The tank is smaller but range is the same. The storage is smaller but I can work around that. The Wing is more comfortable, rides and handles better, is faster yet smoother, has an adjustable shield, has heated grips and seats, and is much lighter and far easier to maneuver. Yes it doesn't have that Harley feel, but it has a soul all its own that I surprisingly find appealing. Maybe after 26 years on Harleys I just wanted a change for a bit too.
All legit reasons. I am in the same boat, but looking more towards ADV bikes. I had touring bikes for a few decades and want to change up. I live in Colorado, so the fire roads, and passes are abundant.

Agree on the looks. I hated it to start with, but damn did it grow on me. Currently looking at a Road Glide as my next bike, specifically a 2013 CVO Road Glide :D

I am 5’9 and 160 and I ride a 2018 road glide ultra no problems at all, and I got legend shocks that are adjusted for taller for ground clearance no problems at all

I might be the odd one, but I liked the Road Glide the first time I saw one.
I had already bought my 2000 wide glide with intentions to see it turn over 100,000 before trading so I was stuck.
However, I got to test drive a road glide at a dealer demo run and was very impressed with it. There was almost NO wind noise at any speed up to 70. So I determined right then the Road Glide would be my replacement when Scarlet reaches 100,000 miles. Now, I plan to keep Scarlet and ride it intermittently with the newer Road Glide.
My first Harley was and is the 2012 Roadglide. I can’t imagine being on any other Harley model. For a big guy like me 6-5 .. it’s perfect.
My Road King Classic is black. I love the green Road King like Caleb's Dad has.
Sean great video as always, I just want to say Victory Vision styling was cutting edge. I don’t think it aged all that well though.
I finally rented a Road Glide Ultra this past weekend. As for me, the RG is overrated. Decent power for what you need. But that suspension was horrible. Bike really should be in the 19k price range.
Love Road Glides. Had three batwing fairings. Rode a Road Gilde and have my second Road Glide now.
I have a 2013 CVO road glide ultra and it is flawless with nearly 50k miles on it now.
The only slight niggle originally was that if you take your hands off the bars while slowing down at around 40 MPH the front end wobbles like a mini tank slapper and this was nothing too serious, just a little unexpected fright.
Yes there is a fix for that but I never bothered as i was afraid that it could change other things.
Several times I gave it a BLAST and brought it up to over 115 mph (German Autoban to be legal !) and it was as steady as a rock, even took my hands off the bars at 90 mph and it is PERFECT.
I had 2 ultras before this bike and both of them wallowed (swayed) a bit in wind or while overtaking trucks on the highway, but you also get used to that as the ultras were a good bike EXCEPT the 2007 model which would go in to a serious speed wobble at around 82 to 84 mph especially on a long sweeping corner.
Yea the Shark nose grows on you and the handling is very good..
P.S . I am only 5 foot 3 inches short and have had this bike from new, OK I had to fit air suspension on the rear to suit my little legs but I love this bike.
I am now 62 and have been constantly being riding Harley Davidson's since 1985.
This is not a brag as it is just my honest personal experiences.

I never liked the Road glide either until I road it now my next bike very well might be a road glide? I have a street glide but next year I will be getting a newer bike
I just bought a 2018 road glide I’m so excited to ride it tomorrow
I saw one. Sat on one. Test rode one. Then bought it. Went up to 65ish in 3rd gear. Tons of torch. I was hooked.
Those are pretty cool it grows on you.

I rode Harleys and had and I rode an FLH daily for a decade straight. Last year, I bought a 2013 Victory Country Country off a buddy of mine: HOOKED. I recently bought another Victory for touring, a 2015 Victory Vision, WOW (just came back from N Cal/live in LA) what a ride. Now that Victory is no longer made: I like them more. Don’t hate Harleys one bit, but BOY was I always either working on them or they were in the shop. (Got M/C license 47 yrs ago), I am sure Harleys are more reliable these days...Hope it isn’t true about manufacturing Harleys in Thailand...

Hey all. I know this is a very late post for this video, but I'm looking for advice from experienced Harley riders. My wife and I want a touring bike so I' considering a RGU vs Ultra Low, I'm 5'7" 160 lbs. I have 6 years riding experience; 3 years with a Yamaha Raven cruiser and 3 years with an Ultra Limited. Sold the Ultra Limited since we weren't taking long trips with it. Got a Mustang Convertible instead. Thoughts on the Road Glide Ultra vs Ultra Low for my height? Thanks!
I looked at one today the only isues is i csnt put my feet flat so when i was siting only my tip toes were touching the ground what would be best solution lowert seat or low susp or do i just stick with soft tail im 5,8
I love the RG,,, unfortunately I’m 5’7” 😂, I ride a 21 SG,,, and have zero complaints, but I do think the Shark Nose is awesome,,, Keep up the pre ride prayers! So important 😊
Been riding a Harley since i was 16 bought it before i did a car .The Roadglide is by far the best handeling motorcycle. I ever owned . i have an 2011 i installed progressive monotubes in the ft and the revoa coil adjs in the rear. I ride year round. I considered trading for a newer model even test rode a few my 11 will be my last bagger. No need for a new one

The fairing looks bulky when you look at it from a distance. But, once you sit on the Road Glide, THE FAIRING DISAPPEAR. You don't even see it it's so low.

I've road them not impressed I have a 2017 ultra limited I'm happy. Different strokes for different folks. And by the way all the touring bikes in the Harley-Davidson line have the same frame

I have a 2008 Road glide and I love it. However was in the market for a 2020 Road glide. The sad part is all of us loyalist fall for the same HD scam! You pay $30,000 for a bagger and Harley-Davidson anticipates that you'll drop another $6000 to change the stock suspension, change the seat, change the handlebars and change the windshield. I recently rode a 2020 Indian Challenger and all of these upgraded components come stock. And the bike is $3,000 less. I don't know if I'm going to be in HD loyalist any longer.

I have a rk 107 and my friend has the rk103 i couldn't tell much difference honestly...
For me the difference between the 103 and the 107 was heat. I put ceramic coated stainless steel headers on my 2014 Ultra Limited, installed a Power Commander, and had it dyno tuned for one reason and it wasn't for more power, it was to get rid of the heat. Then why on vacation on Oahu I rented a Road Glide with the M8 engine and box stock it felt cooler than my modified 103. I came to realize 2 things why riding that bike, that I liked the Road Glide better than my batwing, and that I much preferred the rider comfort of the M8 to the 103. I traded in my 2014 Ultra Limited on a 2018 Road Glide Ultra and I haven't regretted it for one day.
Me being a shorter dude... 5 foot 9... I like the street glide better... I don't have to look down for the speedo... the streetglide spedo is at eye level

I test road a road glide special with a 110. The bike was noticeably heavier and I mean very noticeable compared to my fat boy. that I didn’t like but the pros was the comfort, my goodness I could have ridden it all day. And that stationary fairing is a game changer for the highway. The power from the 110 was great, maybe 103, may lug a bit since the bike is heavy (nothing some se-255 can fix) but, it cruises so well and great on my back but still won’t be my next bike. Once you ridden a low rider S, there is no other comparable Harley. of course imo.
It is the best bike for big guys. I'm 5'11 245lbs

I've sat on a couple at the local Harley shop and even though I got a Street Glide RG seams to seat better, but I like my what young people call the geezer glide.
I had several batwings the last one was a 16 SG and i loved all of them but the RGS seems to handle better. It also seems to sit lower. I was worried about the reach to the radio but it isnt a problem
I have a not so geezer glide cause I modded the shit out of it. But at one time, it was indeed a geezer glide.
I'm a huge Victory and Harley fan! I still say the Vision and Road Glide are both ugly. And that Indian with the fairing is ugly and I've always love Indian. The Chief is pretty!
Victory talked me into riding the vision (I said, I can't get past the looks) To this day still the most pleasurable road bike experience I've had on a V-twinn.

RG is the best bagger made. There is no sence in having a big ass faring attached to your forks -- especially for people that are coming from more "sporty" bikes.
