How Apple Makes So Much Money

- There’s no question that Apple makes an unbelievable amount of money. In fact, last quarter, they exceeded one hundred billion dollars in revenue for the first time. But what’s even more impressive, is their huge mountain of cash. Almost 200 billion, more than any other company in the world. This is a complete 180 from where they were two decades ago. When Apple had just escaped bankruptcy. So how were they able to make so much money, so quickly, to become the most valuable company in the world? Well, that’s exactly what I’m going to explain in this video.

Great content man 👍🏻
I know you can do it.
Can't wait for this amazing milestone!
hey Greg, I watched a video by the hated one on Apple, any thoughts?
Bet you that by next week, “A day in the life of Steve Jobs” will be uploaded
Heck I wouldn’t be surprised if it was posted tomorrow. He had a poll up last week and a video was posted the same day.
It's already posted bro 😂😂👍🏻
Woah
The real question is how you make these so fast
@Apple Explained you have an extra white circle in your icon
@Apple Explained u fake
@Apple Explained u just copied the reply from the first comment made by the REAL Apple Explained.
@Namir Deshmukh Yess
not much effort is put into them
You always make a lot of quality videos, thanks!

how was this video posted 6-7 hours after the vote? this is *insanely great*
Video was already made😂
@Apple Explained lmao imagine impersonating someone
@Apple Explained your not even the real guy
Yea that’s what I thought
I think he has all the videos made already and just uploads them in the order of the amount of votes they get
Also, they sell products that don't go obsolete quickly due to the inability to update the operating system of the device. For example, the current versions of iOS/iPadOS supports several generations of iPhones and iPads; indeed, my iPad Pro 10.5" from 2017 will likely continue to get iPadOS updates for at least a couple of more years.

My iphone 4 cant update started from 2015. Its a gimmick phone
My Air 2 from 2014 is still being supported and it’s 2021 already. I still haven’t replaced the battery or anything within it. Compared to the android tablets I bought (Samsung, Lenovo, HP), this one lasted the longest.

Great video as always! I can't see Apple slowing down anytime within the next 10-20 years if they move into the AR/VR space and launch an electric car.
agreed. EV space will be huge for Apple with their self-driving technology
theyre defo moving into AR/VR, if the airpods max is anything to go by. head tracking? check. spatial sensors? check. active noise cancellation? check. everything you need for an immersive VR experience
Hellooowwww
I’ve been looking forward to this. Great video. Thanks Gregg.
Well explained. Great video 👍
Love your style of making videos and these topics are very interesting
Excellent video Gregg very informative. Thank you
Love listening to these videos it puts me at ease. I’m thinking it’s the voice that does it lol
That too, he's soothing, plus the good background music.
Thank you Mr Greg for another great fun and informative video
Video on who would be the next Apple CEO after Tim Cook🥺
Same 😊
I really hope it's Craig Federighi.
@@atisbasak I really hope so too! I believe he’d fit the position perfectly.

It’s the best DAW, and apple sells it for a good price and the updates are great :)
I would be so curious about the history and the inception of it.
Thanks so much

It seems like they really became explosively profitable with the release of the larger screen iPhone 6 & 6 plus. I remember I really wanted one but even bad ESN ones were extremely expensive.

Just because you price something high doesn’t mean that people will buy it. You still need to back that price with a quality product.

Apple doesn't sell user data, they outsource it plus the high profit margins on accesories, proprietary cables and other products helps them make a large amount of money
Boy do I have news for you, A class action lawsuit has been filed in California against Apple for allegedly harvesting iPhone user data. The suit is based on research that showed how multiple iPhone apps send Apple analytics data, regardless of whether the iPhone Analytics privacy setting is turned on or off, not to mention it's been hacked and user data was sold to the highest bidder,

Why does apple keep supporting windows itunes??? You said in a older video that macs scrapped iTunes to 3 separate apps but windows hasn’t yet. Despite the clear response that it could start a mass revolt since many iphone users use windows machies and not macs.

Let's see how much more Apple will win the computer users who will switch from PC to Mac in 2021- 2022 when all Macs have Apple Silicon chips without Intel chips.
A full fledged high end PC with a dedicated CPU and GPU destroys the m1 chip Mac by miles. Keep in mind that the m1 is an soc and is only the most efficient chip in terms of power consumption. Yes the m1 is impressive but in terms of performance it can't beat out the high end PCs.
I want a day in the life of Greg video
I bet Steve Ballmer in reflection "was happy" with his strategy...
Apple: Makes a lot of money.
Apple Explained: How Apple makes a lot of money.
long stories short; if your cost pirice and sell price and if sell price is bigger then cost price you make profit so this means apple puts less effort into the hardware/software and sell price means how much money you put into something but apple is great and you should buy one
nice
Humorously, it's now almost impossible to maintain and use an ipod. Meanwhile my Sandisk player continues to run well.
How they make so much money my answer peer pressure plays a big role especially among the younger demographic as crazy as it sounds it works like a charm
And getting stuck and invested in their ecosystem.
The "effort" is the reflection of the opening.
Does it rain for everyone the same in relation to some favorable economic index?
Waste of time?
Does this company have something in the shadows?
But contribute, doing what is within your power.

I will once again say i like your words mr apple man
The price bumps were partially just from inflation
I watch this guys videos to figure out whether i want to stay with samsung and the google ecosystem or jump to apple.
I guess I’m kinda trapped but every time I switch to Samsung I always find my way back to apple and it’s ecosystem. Everything may be over priced but I like knowing that my 2014 MacBook (with a bad battery) still works with the newest iPhones and programs. I dislike apple the company but I can’t escape their products.

Over 100 billion in a single quarter is literally like making about 1.1 billion US dollars a day
Greg, the answer to that question is... that they rob consumers.... Didn't need a 7 minute vid for that... Can't wait for the day in the life of Steve Jobs Vid.... :)
EDIT : If a product is successful in markets like China and India, then it means its worth its value....
By overcharging.
It is almost as if apple understands that values have "value" to customers and capitalism works. Jeez what a concept.
The Reason Apple is doing so well is tax evading lmao
still waiting with the 17% of people who wanted to know why the imac pro was discontinued
I wish Apple would focus more on what consumer wants instead of focusing on profits
They might enter a bit late into new things but when they actually did , it will be perfect , way ahead of technology and it will be a device that will be flawless at least for next 5-10 years
5-10 years? Yeah, no.
What this video didn't mention
1. Making their products non-upgradable and unrepairable
2. Preying on the naivete of their technologically innocence customers
Well don't forget industrial scale tax evasion. That's a nice thing to be able to do. Not pay any tax I mean. They're still waiting to repatriate some 220bn as of right now. Then there's the fact that most difficult problems in tech have been solved through the public sector (Siri came out of the public sector example. As did the capacitive touch screen). Their entire operating system is Free BSD (that was a great move on Steve's part). Their kernel came out of Carnegie Mellon. Click wheel came out of CERN. LCDs out of DoD and through NSF and this is just a small snippet. Steve's great sense of aesthetic and appreciation for design is a large factor but all of Apple's aesthetic boils down to Zen design, some elements of Bauhaus, and mid-century minimalism which they got, big surprise, for free! I really like Apple. It's the only computer I use nowadays. But I think we should be honest about certain aspects of it. They get credited with innovation when the truth in a lot of cases is they've taken someone else's innovation and productized it. The heart of their products is Unix and they had nothing to do with that. And that's just one small example. You can make a lot of money when your "Basic Research" is done by someone else and you don't have to pay for it.
Apple Will have a New Data Strategy like If your Car stop Working or Microwave or it's A few years after you Bought it by your Credit Card or your Family. With out go into Privecy even google and facebook and Amazon in iOS and MacOS. Work. With Privecy. Also sell more Services like Dropbox and Evernote.
