What a strange caller. He is almost as crazy as what he thinks they are.
The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.
yeah im pretty certain he is the crazy one in the situation. that guy was unbearable to listen to.
Lots of odd people in salt lake city--I lived there for years.
Those poor kids.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Most annoying call on the Dave Ramsey show ever. Seems like this guy has a lot of problems too.
Absolutely. This was hard to listen to.
Exactly 💯 💯
EVERY response the guy gave was whining. He was acting like he’s 12!
Agreed.
This guy is really good at speaking a lot of words without really saying much at all.
He must be a democrat.
And mumbling into the phone
No, they are Mormons from Salt Lake City, that’s why he is so messed up
You'd think he is a woman.... 🤪
@@jukkao.parviainen8669 OK bigot. Not everyone in Salt Lake City is a Mormon. Also Mormons are fine people
His parents might have some legitimate concerns. He seems a bit unstable.
Strange call.
By the end of the call, he finally gets to the point that his parents already offered to leave. OKAY, PROBLEM SOLVED, NEXT CALL.
This guy was ridiculous.
Yup - except he wanted Dave to tell him he could keep the $200k.
@@josh.kaptur exactly. If he is doing fine financially, just give the $200K back. He doesn’t want to though.
I felt bad for him until he said do they deserve the 200 k?! 😳
"I didn't want the 200k" and took reluctantly, but now he does want to hold onto it
I was waiting for Dave to say it would have been nice to hear that a lot earlier in this call.
Props to Dave for remaining calm.
Did he though? 🤣
This man seems like he is way to sensitive.
For real I would've hung up.
man….use declarative statements and take some ownership. It sounds like you have allowed others to control your decisions your entire life….stop it.
Probably the most annoying caller he's ever had
The caller is off his meds.
strange call, very strange call.
His real question was "how can I get what I want without pissing them off and not getting their inheritance?" He just couldn't fully get around to asking it.
Spot on!
what a mess. who took advantage of whom
100% correct.
The most shocking thing is that someone wanted to have children with him
@@cal.712 "Bravery"
Lol, lots of women are desperate
Also shocking that he had the male contribution.
A woman with adhd like he has.
operamatt, it's possible that the person who is his partner (male or female) brought the kids into the relationship too.
The most annoying call in Ramsey show history😂
That's saying a lot!
💯
true story
Dave is very good at asking simple direct questions. Some of his callers are incapable of answering a direct question.
This caller even had trouble answering "how old are you?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@blubbness this caller was insufferable. 40 years old and talks like a 14 year old
He sounds like a man child.
I feel like his answering style spells deceit.
One time he said to a caller, “I asked you a very simple question… what I got back was not a simple answer.”
Geez. That was like getting a root canal.
My root canal was not as painful
😂😂😂😂
Root canal without lidocaine
…and unfortunately I have to have one of those soon😩
Okay my take on this call, the parents have decided to leave and want their money back and he does not want to give up his nice big house so he wants Dave to tell him it's okay to keep their money, that didn't happen so now he is an emotional wreck. If his parents are racist you really think he is just finding out about it?
Spot on
Exactly this
@Sandra Mulchahey My impression is you're young enough not to have dealt yet with elderly parents.
You truly can't understand the emotional toll it can take on adult children. After living independently from Mom and Dad for decades they are now "up close and personal" again. How the parents behaved 50 years ago may have seemed normal but now the children don't accept it, especially when seeing and hearing daily instead of just at holiday visits.
If one or both have worsening mental issues it can make each day a nightmare. Saying your son wants to kill you for your money is a red flag for dementia.
I'd cut him some slack. No matter what he does the family will be in turmoil.
@@hopefletcher7420 I'm not young and I cared for my mother who had dementia for 10 years before she passed away and it was by far the most difficult thing I've ever been through as she was my best friend and I miss her every day, I also cared for my dad until he passed three years after her, I was there to hold their hand as they passed from this life.I do appreciate your comment as it sounds as though you are a caring compassionate person.
@@hopefletcher7420 but in the end he seemed like his main concern was giving the money back & getting a smaller house.
What is wrong with this guy? Why did he call the show?
I wish he hadn't. Lol.
He wanted sympathy and to keep the 200k
He was hoping for Dave to justify him keeping the $200k they gave him.
He needs to be on a drama tv show or something
😂😂😂
This call was like looking up a recipe for meatloaf but when you get to the site you hear the chef’s life story instead of getting a recipe.
I think I’d go insane living in the upstairs of this dudes house too.
This guy should have used the 200k to get a new phone and therapy instead of getting that house
This guy is nuts.
And he has kids!
“How do I keep my parents money and kick them out?”
well they did give him the money so he’s in the clear
Dave might be the only person on the planet capable of de-escalating this caller. He’s no BS and keeps his emotions in check. Worthy of sainthood!
Dave's the man.
“They’re elderly, so coming down the stairs isn’t really an option.” Right… so you trapped them upstairs in the home they paid for?
How does putting the elderly upstairs, in a home they contributed to for their decline, make any sense?
Maybe that's how he intends to off them 🤣
Maybe it's a bungalow and the caller is in the basement.
Do you mean he should throw them out of their own property?... Its better?...If he lives with them, he may check out whether they need any assistance or medical assistance or buy a bread, or oranges etc Don´t you think?.....If they are not able to walk down the stairs, then they are not even able to go to grocery store, according your way of thinking. So its good if he wants to check on them as a good loyal son and buy grocery for them or cook the food. And elders also want to see their grandkids.... But maybe best option is as Dave said give them the money and once a week visit them whether they need some assistance for example fix electricity in house or move furniture to another room or to buy some food.
Hopefully the parents have a kitchen upstairs and not living without food.
Dave "how old are you?" He looked disgusted when the guy said 40 years old.
🤣🤣🤣
He is 39 but he didn't even give a straight answer for his age....
Yeah, Dave is not always good about keeping the neutral face . . . which works for him, because technically it is a radio show.
Yikes. This guy is all over the place. Are we sure he isn’t the crazy one?
his parents have a right to be scared
He has a lot of anxiety. But Dave should have asked if the parents have always been like this. My mom was ok until she was about 70 and then got a UTI and was crazy, saying nutty things and staring at people. Most of it resolved . They should be seen by a doctor.
@A H U spelled spoon wrong
Dave’s patience is UNBELIEVABLE!
He literally has no patience. His responses are incredibly rude lol
@@mattdonovan2412 Dave was advancing the dialog by sticking to his principle of extracting the necessary information before giving a recommendation. That is indeed patience. Bluntness is not incredibly rude.
@@blackmuslimconservative Dave lost his patience when he said “My god you talk in circles”. Granted the caller was talking in circles, but Dave didn’t maintain a level of respect with the caller
@@mattdonovan2412 his responses are incredibly direct and front forward. People need to hear that. Can’t live life being like the caller, an emotionally unstable 40’yearnold
@@user-se1le6di1c dude I’m just responding to this guys comment saying Dave has no patience. It sounds like you agree with me. I’m not arguing that he’s not being direct. Im only saying he’s not that patient haha
Dave, you are a saint. You didn’t let him dance around. He just wanted you to say, don’t give them the money.
Initially, I thought he was just being emotional because his parents thought he would kill them or because of the living situation.. But noooo, it's because he wants to keep the money. Good job Dave, you saw right through all of his emotional babble!!!
This dude just wants to keep the money. He was looking for justification. One of the worst callers Ive ever heard. 🤬
"its bad but its a good thing they're racist so im morally justified in taking their money...that they gave to me though". Yup you heard the same as i did
@@ikbenvoetbal yeah while insisting he never wanted the money to begin with, he's doing mental gymnastics to justify a way he can keep it.
Imagine his parents dealing with him as a kid. He made them crazy.
Or they’re racist. They raised him
Or this guy is the result of a very dysfunctional family.
Kids don't make parents do anything, sweetheart. They're kids. Anyone who thinks kids are the problem is just looking for an easy excuse for their poor parenting. Even a very troubled child can be kept in their place. Honey, this guy is like he is because of his parents, not the other way around.
@Skincare CEO You must be a dearest incredibly empathic person....when you call everybody crazy.
Let me remind you of something that Dr. scientist Joe Dispenza, who is also a chiropractor author of best several selling books said to his students.
"Crazy is a good thing because it is out of normal".... by the way, therefore, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Da Vinci, Einstein, Monet, Marie Sklodowska Curie and hundreds of other figures became incredibly famous, because of their crazy ideas that were out of normal, that they put into practice...and everybody on the planet profits from their "craziness".
DR. Joe Dispenza helped thousands of people with chronic illnesses and careers.
More likely they made him crazy.
They give their son 200k and move in with him.
They laugh at an old Archie Bunker joke and now they're not allowed to come down the stairs.
That house is full of crazy, and I don't think it's on the top floor.
Yep
Wow. He’s a wordy guy.
He doesn’t want to give the money back.
The more words you use the longer the lie becomes
The whole call was just him trying to get Dave to help him justify him keeping the $200k his parents gave him.
Correct. He's not as wealthy as he claims
@@mshannateacher1 nah, it is easier to take then give back.
I’m telling you, he’s looking for an excuse to kick them out and keep the money, and he wanted Dave to sign off on it. Can’t believe how many people seem to have missed it.
What are you talking about, most of the coments are saying just that? Or how annoying the caller was. Both true.
100% this was the call. They want to go (which he disguised as "I want them gone"), and he just doesn't want to give them their money back. Absurd.
If I were the parents I would be worried too. He seems erratic. He really wanted to keep the money. If he doesn't want to sell the house, he could pull the 200k out of the equity.
The caller sounds incerdibly unstable. This is a man who grew up knowing who his parents are and how they will portray themselves around his kids. Truth of the matter is he wanted his parents money to help purchase a near million dollar house; now he wants to kick them out and keep the house without giving their money back and feel justified in doing so.
He is justified in doing so. He was given a gift. It doesnt matter who it came from or if those people want it back or not
I didn't see it that way but I think you just might be right.
Seriously. He even snuck in a "they don't need the money" there at the end
@@BillyOnUA-cam It was a gift with the condition that they would also love in the house with him. If they aren't living together he shouldn't keep their money.
@@eatenvegan1565 Maybe
If this guy can have a partner than there is hope for everyone!
She's probably the one who drove him this crazy
@@vjs4539 Don't just assume it's a "she", (just listening to the caller, so I assume it could be either a he or a she).
@@Sheryl777 He said "my wife". Keep up, will you?

@Day 👍
The entire call can be summarized in one simple question "should I give back the 200k my parents gave to me and let them using the money to move out?"
Folks usually get emotional when the person they are talking to gets emotional. Dave was fantastic here at remaining calm instead of escalating his voice to match the caller.
difference between manhood (dave) and extended boyhood (caller)
He wants to keep the money. He thought that calling his own parents "racist" and "sexist" would justify him keeping their money. I'm leaning towards agreeing with his parents that he may want to kill them over it.
Yes this totally agree. It's the easy go to when trying to justify bad behaviour
@kingsquid Age. Cognitive decline. All foreseeable at the time the arrangement was entered.
Exactly!!!
@kingsquid I dont believe a word he says, a very disrespectful man and yes he sounds crazy enough to kill his parents. Mention the word racist and we r all supposed to fall in line. So what is worst a man who doesnt like people from other ethnic backgrounds or a man who would take 200K from his parents?
They probably are those things.
Was waiting for Dave to say, "Land the plane guy. What is your actual question?"
This guy seems borderline capable of doing someone in with how incoherent and scattered his thoughts were. Yikes!
We probably cannot imagine his parents' side of this bizarre and likely BS story. I don't imagine that he is very employable, and I suspect that he depends on his parents financially.
He said he is well off financially, and so are his parents. So, why is he complaining about the money?
@@donnahampton3632 he’s not well off. His parents are.
@@aaronqueen55 I agree. He is complaining about the 200k cause there are strings attached. I’m curious where he got his other 700k
@@donnahampton3632 yes story was kind of confusing lol
@@donnahampton3632 because in his mind, the 2k was a gift. He wants to keep it, but Dave said no.
He could just do a $200k cash out refinance, hand it to them and move on.
This show is turning into the Jerry springer show.
Sadly. I only got two minutes in before changing it
This is the most weird and confusing call I've ever heard.
His parents sound like they are being neglected upstairs. He is hysterical when he describes their behavior, initially refused 200k but took it anyway despite saying “my home is paid off” and “financially well off” while he justifies separating his parents from their own grandchildren.
Dr. John is never on these kind of calls when he's needed.
THIS GUYS SO SELFISH HE REALLY WANTS THAT 200K and he still is asking if its morally wrong if he keeps the 200k
while he has more than enough money himself, and he wants his parents to move out! stinky stank
well it isn’t morally wrong they did hand him the 200k he doesn’t have to give them 200k back
@Day he legally doesn’t have to give them nothing they gave him the money without having him signing nothing so he’s actually in the clear :)
This guy is what's known as a "snowflake", any issues at all and he immediately melts under the pressure. You can hear the emotion and hyper sensitivity in his voice. You tell your kids that grandma and grandpa are from a different time and they will say some bad things. If you raise you kids properly it won't matter what they hear from grandma.
Thank you for explaining, I was wondering where snowflake came from, now it makes sense. I've lived abroad for over a decade and am trying to learn all these new phrases:)
NOOO! STOP YOUR BS! 80 90years old, you have stop your behavior! They are influencing kids believe it or not, and it's NOT acceptable! You and anyone who think that way are the part of problem. He has the right to provide good education for his kids and his parent are sabotage him. I swear I would kick them out if they keep doing that!

@@doriondorion137 you have a better chance at pushing a rope up a hill than changing the behavior of a 90 year old. I hate racism too but he either needs to just deal with it or separate himself from the situation.

This guy is a complete dope.
I am 30 all most 40 years old ahahabababaabb I died
Just give the money back and move on man...sheesh.
He talks in spirals, not circles.
I have the answer, even though it's not what Dave recommends.... since you don't have a mortgage then take a 15 year fixed out for 200k on the house. Give them that money and then just pay it off in payments. They get their money and their own place and you all don't have to move.
I work with someone like this. I had to sit down with them and told them, I don't have time for circular stories that throw me into mental gymnastics just trying to figure out what your point or question is.
'how sharper than a serpent's tooth is an ungrateful child.'
This caller is frantic. Dr. John! We need you on this one.
Sell the house, hand them $200k... Uncle Dave keeps it simple😜
He is a crazy person. So there are crazy people on both levels of this house.
Maybe just one the bottom level.

Dave: "When did the situation go bad?"
Caller: "Those thin mint cookies were once created by Sir Dingly Dan in..."
How can somone talk so much and say so little?
The train has lost a wheel
🤣
It sounds like after the parents moved in, he realized he didn't want them there. The real reason isn't very clear because their "comments" cannot possibly be new behavior. And since he cannot control them, he's in a bind. He wants to keep the money (no surprise there, since he's already rich) he wants them to go away happy. His house is paid for. Not sure why he called Dave, since he's certainly not going to agree with this guy. I would love to hear the parents side...
Probably find out that IT was the one yelling at the t v and the parents put IT in their place. IT didn't like that hence all the drama.
@@davidleavitt3804 But what do you mean by IT?
He doesn’t want to sell the house, he wants someone to tell him it’s his.and who puts elderly people in an upstairs apartment. Well funny how it works he wants the 200 k at the end of the call. I am curious what they were yelling at the tv. Refi and pay your parents out
Amazing that a nut job like that is so financially well off.
“So Financially well off” that he has to sell his home to return a gift of $200k.
My husband's take: parents must've seen this as a transaction of sorts. We give you money and you will be caring for us the rest of our lives. But when relationship soured and they were told they really needed to find another living place, they likely needed that 200k to make the financial side work. I don't know because we're not getting a full picture.
Calling Dave is scary for so many reasons! So I try to be gracious to the callers who mess up. Take his advice and forget the public criticism.
How does old people saying things to a television make one's children "unsafe"? The guy is a drama queen.

Nothing to do with politics, you just assumed that people on the right throw epithets..
It’s about someone that’s trying to keep 200k
The guy is 40 years old and acts like it's the first time he has seen the parents say these things.
Im sorry, caring for ill parents is not easy. They are humans of their patents conditions.
They did not give themselves the opertunity to shed them....
Im sorry.

It's hard to figure out what's really going on based on this guy's call. It's possible that an inheritance is on the line. It's possible, even likely, that one or both of the elderly parents have some form of dementia, because of the paranoia and unreasonable utterings and expectations, as well as temper issues. It's possible that, but for the caller, they'd have no where else to go, and would either need twenty four hour supervision from a nurse or some other stranger, or be put into a home, where great levels of care is hard to come by, and is insanely expensive, even with just copay. So yeah, the caller is maddeningly inarticulate and emotional, but that's where I'm getting, as well, having taken care of my elderly mom and stepdad full time for over a year, with a fiance' waiting extremely patiently for me. I don't have money to work with, and almost no helpers. It's mostly just me, 24/7.

My mom talks like this a lot and it's the most annoying thing. I have had to stop the conversation mid way through and walk away because I have no patience. She wonders why I get frustrated. I can't deal with stupidity. She will start a story from midway and than bounce to the end and than to the beginning back to the end back to the middle. It is all over the place and so hard to follow. You ask direct questions and they can't answer them. I don't know if it's a disability or stupidity.
Your mom might have dementia. My mom was like that long before she was diagnosed.
He grew up with these people. He knew their beliefs. If they are racist and sexist, he signed up for it. If they aren't, he is justifying throwing his parents out and keeping their money.
Honestly, which has a worse impact on his children, hearing off color remarks and mom and dad letting children know why those remarks are wrong or watching a son throw his parents out over petty reasons? Remember, apples often don't fall far from trees.
Bingo!
Racism is petty?
@@angelaportillo8038 Why can't he accept them and move on.

He sounds guilty
Looks like the apple did not fall to far from the tree. Everyone sounds pretty dysfunctional, except the siblings who took a pass because they knew better. What even makes him remotely think it is OK to not give his parents back the $200K. The real answer is obvious to everyone but Dave is not allowed to say it. Since you don't have the money and don't want to move, just take out $200k equity loan out of the house and give them their money back and move on...the end
