  • Back in 2003 Kevin Burns was commissioned by Star Wars creator George Lucas to make a "documentary of record" about the making of the trilogy: Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of The Jedi (1983). The result was: "Empire of Dreams - The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy".
In the making of this documentary, Kevin was given access to Lucasfilm archives, and his usual own access to the 20th Century Fox archives.
With-in this documentary Kevin used some extended SPFX footage from the Lost In Space , Second Season opening episode "Blast Off Into Space".
In this extended footage we see the Jupiter 2 spun around by the exploding planet beneath it, to the point that the view-port of the 4ft miniature is directly facing the camera, thus presenting a rare momentary glimpse head-on of the 4 footer's view-port that isn't a take off or landing setup shot.
