- See this airplane fly: • Flying the STOL CH 750...
Jan shares info about his STOL CH 750 Super Duty, powered by his new 180-hp turbocharged Viking Honda engine.
This airplane is the first completed CH 750 Super Duty (SD) assembled from a kit (in just two months from start to completion)!
Sun 'n Fun 2018 fly-in and expo in Lakeland, Florida.
The STOL CH 750 Super Duty is the latest model in the Zenith high-wing lineup. The resemblance between the STOL CH 750 Super Duty (SD) and the original STOL CH 750 light-sport aircraft is obvious, but the Super Duty offers increased useful load, the addition of a jump seat in the big rear cabin area, and more powerful engine choices for maximum short take-off and landing (STOL) capability. The design features fixed wing leading-edge slats, full-length flaperons (for excellent control at slow flight), big tires for off-airport operations, and effective rudder and elevator to allow for slow flight operations. The roomy cabin provides easy access from both sides and amazing visibility from the wrap-around windows and bubble doors.

See it and hear it fly! ua-cam.com/video/Uo0QP7U9_Po/v-deo.html
Thanks man! That's something that I'll love to have! Sweet! Deleted my previous comment!
Zenith Aircraft Company xxcc
i realize I am pretty randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to watch newly released tv shows online?
Wow. It's been since the early 1960s since anyone built something like this. Nostalgia, it's called. Good job, guys.
Ok,, so some guy in Germany that did the interior for free, if you "show case" his work but you don't say his name,, but you know what color of black it's painted.
Can't wait to see this in Oshkosh! Incredible build!
It’s a beautiful plane, I think. Didn’t see much of it though. Saw the guy talking a lot.
ua-cam.com/video/C69sDQasO9A/v-deo.html
Beautiful build. Excellent presentation. Thank You.
Thanks for the video. To each there own in the home built market. Zenith and Viking are exactly the approach i want.
- what a cool little airplane, Thanks for sharing this with us.
It would be nice to see the panel the gentleman was talking about when he was talking about it.. Seats look very comfortable. I love the red powder coating - my colour. Finally saw the panel.
That plane looks very comfortable and good.
Good video lots of information.
Thanks very much.
One slick looking machine 🔥🔥🔥
i love Zenith aircrafts
Less face and more airplane!
Ya but, this build shouts, look at me, me, ME, whoopy Dee!! VERY VERY POOR Choice of engine. Those tiny 4cyl engines use HUGE amounts of fuel, at high rpm and under turbo boost. For spinning a Propeller, you NEED an engine that produces a lots of torque at very low rpm, and sips fuel while doing it. Oh!,,, and inline 4cy are vibrators, unless fitted with balance shafts that rob engine of power, while adding weight and complexity. VTEC Yo !!!

AGREE.. very poor production.. you get a D -- . THUMBS DOWN ! I wanna buy a car.. Im not gonna be in the office looking at the salesman.. we wanna see the plane dammit..
LOVE it!!!!
Wondering about GPH on this aircraft and endurance. I imagine it performs well.
I wonder what the fuel consumption is per/hr at max power. Also would like to know how that engine functions at altitudes with less oxygen density (above 10,000 feet)
future of aviation. great looking aircraft.
Do these Honda engines have a duel spark system? I was suprises he didn't speak on fuel use and speed of the aircraft
Great video, very thorough for a neophyte such as myself.
How does the RPM at the engine's peak torque effect how many blades on the propeller are needed?
LOL! Who made the damn interior for you? So much for showcasing his work when we don't even know how to contact him.
Such a dick move I tell you, at least drop a name so someone interested can search for him
The only thing I wonder about is the reduction unit when one of these auto conversions ends up in an NTSB report lot of times it's the reduction unit that fails, and the engine management computer I have seen a few where something goes wrong in the aftermarket computer can't use the honda computer have to use something else.
"...this is pretty much an eighty day project....theres absolutely nothing to it...it probably could be done faster"
^^thats what I'm telling my wife when the delivery truck shows up in the driveway. ;)
The horse bush is also a viking boat as a athena double
Can this take off/ land on the side of hills and steep terrain? How long would it take to take off at 4000ft?
Great video and beautiful plane, but what about performance numbers?
barely any horsepower
What happened to going to Valdez? I thought the Viking Zenith Super Duty was going to compete this year...
I know Honda builds great engines but I wonder how the PSRU and engine combination will hold up. Harmonics etc........
Классный, красивый аппарат! Золотые руки у мастеров изготовивших этот шедевр.
Beautiful
Awesome plane 🤩
Hey Jan,
What was the zero fuel weight on this A/C ??
What’s the take off and landing roll in the 750 with the 180hp turbo?
wow, want one here in Norway
constant speed prop?
will they ever make this decent looking TD? btw that is an awesome beer holder
I'm wondering if the heat from the baking process of powder coating changes the strength characteristics of aluminum?
Machines and Things no it does not.
Machines and Things the slots, I call them slots because they are fixed in place and not movable or I would have said slats have plastic tips on each end those would have been painted then riveted on as powdercoating plastic don't work, I built a dozen or so airplanes for icp in Canada and we used to use an epoxy based paint that was awesome, you could paint a piece of alum. And score it with an exacto knife and bend the piece of alum. And try and pick the paint off and you couldn't. I still think polishing is the best less weight = faster and higher roc
What engine management does it use?
Does it have a parachute ?
What a great power plant and seats. Liked the LED bar on landing gear. Seats look super. Wonder what the cost is on the seats
I am looking at the site now excellent info especially weights. I am looking at building a 801-SD which is not priced but I am sure I can get them info to make an estimate. Looked at your videos again. You are they flier I like, has fun and demands perfection in the aircraft.
If only STOL 801s were as popular as 750s :(. Cant find any recent videos of 801s anywhere.
When ur in the air, life or death, better hope u have a reliable motor in there. Cant go wrong with an import.Great choice in motor👍
How is oiling done with a car motor? Most of them are wet sump and they don't like operating at "extreme" angles like you get in an airplane.
How many miles can it fly..and whats the working payload
Yes but what if you lose a spark plug? Where's the redundency?
the phrase "aesthetically pleasing" cracked me up for some reason.
What is the recommended octane in this car engine?
Congratulation !!!!!!!
Any video of the plane without the walking voice?
I like it so much, it is beautiful totally, God bless this airplane.
God Bless the Airplane??? Seriously GOD BLESS THE AIRPLANE..!!
Mate, I think God has a lot more on his plate than worrying about some stupid airplane.. ya think????
Zenit Aircraft Company. How much is a plane like that?, because it is beautiful. Thank you and a warm greeting from Huelva, South West of Spain.
Super nice...
this is nice
Hay guys..this is honda engine.?how much coloume cilinder?
V-Tec just kicked in, y'all! :-P
Zenith A/C fly well. Would love to see this plane's performance.
yes, waiting for that, weights, speed and fuel flow etc
Is it possible to put a real ford super duty motor in a cub?
I heard civic then I heard accord. Or is the same engine in both cars?
Can tricycle landing gear handle rough undeveloped terrain?
"Rough undeveloped terrain" is quite relative. The effective elevator control means you can mostly keep the nosewheel off the ground. Additionally, we like the better forward visibility of the tricycle gear configuration, better steering and ground handling, and ease of getting in and out of the plane. The reality is that most modern pilots simply don't have taildragger experience or access to training, and pay higher insurance rates for taildragger coverage.
wow..2 months working alone?
Looks really impressive... Does it Fly?
The plane flew to Sun-N-Fun and will be flying from Florida to Alaska starting Wednesday, April 25th to be apart of the Show in Anchorage and participate on Valdez. You can follow the trip through our forum vikingaircraftengines.ning.com/
ok, ive now found my dream aircraft. Powered by Honda, Powered for life.
How many people working for 80 days?
Do they ever actually fly it or just bounce it around to air shows

I'd like to see how that airplane gets off the ground
How do you put a display or an iPad on a man's face? Clearly the cameraman is showing us that is where Jan means when he is talking about attaching displays, iPads, and other things because whenever Jan points something out, all we see is Jan's face.
how much
What the maximum distance that can be flown on a single full up of gad
*Gas
what is the cruise and the payload ?
good cruise good payload , and must be very performant!! the engine looks heavy , why not install a 0360 ? but all the detail are very nice !
Honda K swap everything
Hey camera guy! Learn the concept of a cutaway and B-roll. We want to see the plane, not the guy talking. Where are the closeups of the places on the panel he’s talking about? Control placement? Sheesh....this is a frustrating vid to watch if you want to find out about the SD750.

@@andrewjackson7476 and yet that still doesn't explain why the cameraman thinks equipment is mounted on the guy's face when the guy was pointing out different things in the cockpit.
Obviously the items the guy is pointing out are attached to the guy's face. That's what the cameraman suggests anyway.
How much
Very beautiful, i like very muhc.
A guy DONATES a beautiful interior and you didn’t even give him a mention? C’mon guys...
Grazie!
Maybe you should watch the video once more, I caught the mention and heard it very well.
He actually didn't say his name just where he was from? correct? And I don't think you hand the camera close enough to his face....
He did NOT "plug" the company that made and donated the interior.
That is what I was thinking. Hard to think sometime under pressure of an interview. Thanks for posting the link. Great job Jan!!
Still a Viking engine fan?
How many people it can carry ?
Two, plus rear jump seat
Your a nice guy but i would have preferred to see more airplane details.
$17k for the Honda engine is "keeping the price down" ?
The Wright brothers didn’t use a car engine, they built their own.
It was designed and built like a car engine of their time. They would have purchased one if it met their goals AND an auto company would have sold them one.
"There were many automobile manufacturers who could have met their specifications, but since the brothers were asking for only one engine to be produced, it was not profitable for the larger companies."
wright.nasa.gov/airplane/eng03.html
EN Austin This is a kit plane --- YOU can build your own. That would be great!
Super Doody
Tricycle landing gear on a STOL, oh OK I'll take it.
Hola Buenas tardes.
Saludos
So since this is a Honda V6, can you use bigger bolt-on turbo kits for it?
eBay “Tanaka” harness’? For real?
Why don't none of them use the Civic Type R engine. It's 300hp factory. The L15's and R18's are ok. But that k20c would be a whole nother experience.
Ups - Viking?... Sounds like Eggenfelner is behind. Is he delivering what you have paid for?
Hey Jan Eggenfellner, what happened to the Subaru engines? Why Honda?
Fly the thing#!
ua-cam.com/video/DLngfhnhiFg/v-deo.html
Third seat ,led light bar, swing arms great features
Unfortunately the focus of the video was stolen once the women in the Viking attire appeared
Also with a mass produced car engine no "aircraft mechanic " will charge 20k to overhaul or thousands to fix an injector or so
Honda Accord. Business.
So what happens when your Honda "Check Engine" light comes on?
"Its like a bunch of drunks got on UA-cam and are all of a sudden experts." Read that to yourself again please. Also, "some of the most reliable engines in the world. Its called maintenance." No shit Sherlock! Any engine can be reliable if you do maintenance on it. My crap Chinese engines for motorizing bicycles can run great for thousands of miles if you do maintenance on them. By the way, how the hell do you get offended by innocent comments anyway? Where in my original comment say anything about "I know everything about engines" or " Honda engines or terrible"? It was a simple comment. It wasn't even classified as funny and I know that. Some peoples kids man. They never shut the fuck up.
Don't bother. We don't get to see the plane in action. The don't even start the engine.
I pity this fool.
Problem with car engines is they are not designed to sit at 70% throttle for hours on end.
Nice man but gee whiz... Show the aircraft! All i saw was a nice guy who owns a cool airplane.
Show us the plane

If i could just SEE the PLANE !... I'm a bit dizzy.
Did he say Honda Civic engine?
yes it is.
🛩❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Camera man, learn some basic filming skills..... you're not spray painting a fence..... keep the camera out of peoples faces...
what a wasted opportunity
