Nintendo took everything that Sony did wrong with the vita and improved it with the switch. So I guess we can look at the switch now as the spiritual successor to the ps vita.

I think all 2D platformers should be in the vita. All of them! The vita is capable and for me the best way to play those games is casually on the go, with an portable console that you can actually fit in your pocket. Thankfully we have amazing games like Chasm and Hotline Miami
Why would anyone want a PS Vita over a Switch? A Switch is leagues more powerful, still has support, super portable, and not to mention it's docking feature. I really don't see what anyone is saying in the comment section. I've heard stuff like, "the Switch isn't much more powerful than the PS Vita" when it obviously is, or "my Switch battery dies too fast!" ... plug it in, then. The switch has many downsides, but definitely not as many as the PS Vita. The biggest one being that the Switch has a future. The PS Vita doesn't.
As an owner of both consoles. I bought the Switch with all the money I saved by downloading all my games on the Vita for free. Using custom firmware the Vita is undeniably great. For gaming on the go I don't want to be sucked into hours of gameplay, I find paying the amount asked for 'pick up and play' games in the switch store quite ridiculous when I could feed my family in a restaurant for the same price of a platform game. I do thoroughly enjoy playing the Switch. It's fantastic and definitely a social Victor over the Vita. However my daughter gets more use out of it than me. Honestly I've spent more money on 3 of her games than the total cost of my Vita with SD2Vita 128gb cards x3 filled with over 280+ titles. Once the novelty of the switch died off I found myself going back to play through almost the entire final fantasy series.. FF1,2,4(remastered),6,7,8,9,10&10-2 at a grand total cost of 0$ . Though I only play those on the TV using PSTV I spend the majority of my gaming time playing niche Vita exclusives and psp titles. I guess it's down to the era of games you enjoy most.
I use my vita to remote play my ps4 from work and also to stream my PC games to my vita. But own a vita primarily to play PS1, PS2, PSP games. Which will NEVER be playable on an unmodded switch. Which i also own. Vita is worth buying for the hack.
Vita and Switch are both great systems but overall I prefer my Vita, it has a great games library, better battery life, it does online properly and it way more portable.
Well, Nintendo never released their consoles or games in India, so can't say for sure. . But, since Switch is region locked, you can't play a game from NA region on an EU Switch console. That sucks.

Heroes 2 run like absolute dogshit on vita like almost every mousu that isn't dynasty warriora 8 and next. Not worth your time, even the switch version is bad.

There are a few Switch games that flat out ARE on the Vita. The excellent Ys VIII and FATE Extella: The Umbral Star are great examples. The upcoming Caligula Effect Overdose look cool to you? Well, you can play the original Caligula Effect right now on Vita. Switch may have Disgaea 5, but no worries, Definitive versions of Disgaea 3 and 4 are both available Vita to scratch that SRPG itch.

Mario Kart 8 on Switch = Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed on Vita The most entertaining racing game on the system. I hope if you read this you give it a chance and like it.
Bad decision, you traded a more powerful console with a bigger game library and better features for an outdated underpowered console with no games that costs 60 bucks

hehe, I can answer that one. The reason for that is because although I wanted to put in Sonic All stars which I think would've been a better choice I wanted a game that was only exclusive to ps vita which is why I chose Wipeout instead🙂
Ahhh... I just recently bought Guacamelee physical version for PS4 for around 115 dollars so I'm outta money but I'll add this games to my list to buy them soon

@@fryguy1133 Switch is better mainly because its released in 2017 while Vita was released in 2011. Of course Switch would perform better. But the Vita is still a lot of fun to play
For all games : I was like the switch counterpart is slightly better as you avoided mentioning god of war and sonic and obvious ones except Killzone but then JRPG : my mind went will u go for this or that from vita and then you threw the ace. The game that kills the whole switch library for me in comparison. Best JRPG on any handheld ever.
Best gunplay choreography even compared to a movie? I guess you missed Equilibrium. Which, in case you did miss it, watch the movie and not the terrible trailers for it.
Oh don't worry, I've seen Equilibrium. I remember renting it from BlockBuster way back in 03-04 I think. It was really good. Highly underrated and the only reason I feel it was overshadowed was because people wrote it off as a Matrix knock off without giving the movie a chance. I like the scene where he shot the guy through the face while he was holding up the book in the church. I remember hearing the empty shell hit the floor and pieces of the book pages went flying. That scene always stuck with me. But yes, I still think Bayonetta 2 has better gunplay choreography. I mean, let's be real here, she shot a bullet from her high heels. HOw do you beat that? haha
If Sony ever wants to compete with Nintendo at the handheld market, my recommendation for them is to make the PSP3 an add-on that connects to your phone, tablet, or laptop. Think of it more like those bluetooth controllers that you can attach to you phone, but with gaming hardware included. It's perfect because average electronic device that's usually carried around is a phone. People normally don't bring their handheld games with them. Not to mention that handheld games seem like a sinking ship to me, but I think my idea could be a successor to the Vita and I think it's more convenient than the Switch because all Sony has to do is make the hardware components, the consumer already has the monitor
Switch is not a handheld, that is more: can play games on tv all ps3/xbox360 port game are fullHD on switch. So i can play darksouls remaster tv fullhd and i can continue portable 720p. Also can play ps4 ports like wolfstein 2 with less resolultion. And not censorship games like sony california today (ok i not really interested boring fanservice games but what sony doing today so weird)
wipe out 2028 kicked me down when I just wanted to spend some down time and play a simple racing game.. after a few hours of training I finally felt comfortable racing. I completely forgot I was playing a handheld.
Great video, SJR. I do have a few suggestions that I feel like would be better one-to-one Vita games to match the Switch ones, though. * Fighting - "Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax". MvC3 is awesome, but it isn't an anime fighter. Dengeki Bunko is a gorgeous anime-based 2D fighter that pushes the fan factor through the roof, just like Fighter-Z. * Racing - "Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformeed". Again, just as a one-to-one, All-Stars is a charming and challenging cart racer with character star-power just like Mario Kart, and while Wipeout kicks butt in a ton of categories, it isn't those particular things. * JRPG - "Tales of Hearts R". Unlike "Vesperia", which originally came out of on the X-Box 360, "Hearts R" is an honest-to-god console exclusive that can't be played anywhere else. Again, just some thoughts. I thoroughly enjoyed the video as-is! Keep up the great work.
Like the Panasonic 3dO, it was ahead of its time (and slightly over-priced). But, if you have a 3DO with a hand full of games now, you are a boss among collectors. So will it be with Vita. VIVA LA VITA!
I love my vita more than my switch but I have to say that they are different beasts. When it comes to jrpgs, dungeon crawlers, adult and quirky games.. vita is probably the best system, when it comes to casual gaming, platforms etc... switch is probably best. Vita is for niche gamers and collectors, Switch is mainstream and family friendly. Anyway I feel we should compare switch to ps4, not to vita as vita and switch are different generations and u do not compare ps4 and wii right?
Something vita was better at is exclusives. Vita had a ton (some later ported to other systems) while switch has very little: it's mainly a port machine. Like on any system, switch exclusives can be mediocre (Kirby.. Mario party... fire emblem heroes...) I mean u also have the good ones like Mario vs Rabbids but overall u have say 12 or 13 and the good ones are like 5 or 6. Vita had so many exclusives that it was easier to find hidden gems here and there.
@@SuperJumpReviews don't get me wrong I kinda liked it (but don't ask me to admit to it in public ;) ). Anyway it pales in comparison to Superobobot.. I mean it's an ok Kirby, not a memorable Kirby. And same applies to other exclusives (probably including Xenoblade 2 which is not as good as the previous). Personally even Mario Odyssey I liked less than 3d Land even tho Odyssey is still the main reasons to buy a switch at this date. Some exclusives instead surprised me... Mario vs Rabbids for example! I mean I like my Switch I just feel its best Nintendo titles (with 3 or 4 exceptions) are WiiU ports and I wish Nintendo would do something about it now that the hype is deflating.
Tales of Hearts R only has japanese audio, and the amazing OP song from the japanese release gets replaced by some unimpressive other music due to copyright reasons. But other than that, a solid game. It's up there with Vesperia.
There is no question that without a D-pad it is uncomfortable to play fighting games on a portable device. Vita and UMvsC3 is №1 for me. I imagine what a joke the MK11 gameplay will be without the D-pad on Switch... We are talking about portable mode, without procontrollers and TV mode
I know! I was so surprised when they announced mk11 for switch. I can't imagine how much they're gonna have to downscale on that game. They're probably gonna cancel it last minute like they did with mkx ps3 and xbox 360 version.
Heck my cheap butt can't afford Spider Man PS4 OR Mortal Kombat X yet so I just play the next best thing. Amazing Spider Man and MK9 lol But enough about me, you've made ANOTHER video that made me be proud to be a vita owner. I appreciate you for that. Nah. I grabbed a Vita on day one. I still have it and it's was a great system that deserved more success than it got. It has a ton of features the Switch doesn't have and may never have but the Vita isn't on the Switch's level when it comes to games. I have every game in this video besides P4, btw.
You can record with the playstation tv. Just hook it up to your capture card. There's only one problem. Not all ps vita games will play on the playstation tv so you won't be able to record for that one. For example, Killzone Mercenary work on pstv but Uncharted Golden Abyss will not.

I have both, but I picked up a Vita last week for Persona 4 Golden and because of the modding potential. I personally am liking the Vita more since it’s more portable and has more games I want to play. If you could give me any suggestions on Vita games or PSP/PS1 games available on Vita I’d appreciate it!
Silent Hill 1 and Resident Evil 1-3
check out my Top 10 ps1, psp games to play on vita :)
If your modding it I'm sure you can get just about any psp/ps1 games.
Awesome video as always. I love my vita to this day but for me the switch is everything the vita could have been with sony’s full support. The only thing I miss on the switch are visual novels.
Nintendo took everything that Sony did wrong with the vita and improved it with the switch. So I guess we can look at the switch now as the spiritual successor to the ps vita.
I have a switch but I just bought a Vita. Always wanted one.
Welcome to the club :)
I'm a switch owner.you made a bold statement about Mario kart and wipe out 2048.what a relief to know I'm not the only one with the same taste,by the way I like to play Disruptor via remote play on the PS3 a nice looking fps of the ps1 era. Subscribing right now
Wow, really? Thanks. I thought I would've pissed quite a few Switch owners off with that one. What can I say, just speaking from the heart of a gamer that's all :) Thanks for subscribing.
Nice list. I really enjoyed Killzone and Wipeout on Vita.
I wish Hollow Knight was on Vita. It's one of the best metroidvania games ever. Axiom Verge might possibly be the closest equivalent, aside from actual Castlevania. You can never go wrong with Symphony of the Night ;)
If you decide to do another video like this, consider adding metroidvanias, platformers, and twin stick shooters.
Are there twin stick shooters for the vita?
@@SuperJumpReviews hotline miami 1 and 2 helldivers dead nation Neon Chrome Super Stardust Delta riddle corpses ex Crimsonland NeuroVoider NeuroVoider you have also postal as a ps vita Homebrew i got most of this list from this reddit post amp.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/931557/what_are_some_good_twin_stick_shooters_on_vita/

@@SuperJumpReviews it's a great game i spend many hours playing it but sadly I never finished it. I guess it counts as horizontally scrolling shoot em up similar to defender
Hotline Miami and Dead Nation are great. Wanted to like Neon Chrome, but its performance was disappointing. Same with Nuclear Throne.
I think all 2D platformers should be in the vita. All of them! The vita is capable and for me the best way to play those games is casually on the go, with an portable console that you can actually fit in your pocket. Thankfully we have amazing games like Chasm and Hotline Miami
Haven't tried Chasm but definitely love Hotline Miami!
@@SuperJumpReviews you're missing out bro, it's has a neat story and awesome gameplay. Check it out!
I love my vita but I won't deny the great games on switch either.
SuperJumpReviews Switch came out later than Ps vita but the vita can still put up a fight against the switch plus can easily win.
Jack Ripper Not really in terms of hardware. The switch is still leagues ahead
Vita and Switch are both great systems but overall I prefer my Vita, it has a great games library, better battery life, it does online properly and it way more portable.
yeah, online is free too
I think nintendo switch games are very expensive
yeah, they're like what $50? They need to be $40 for brand new, and $20 for regular or like a players choice edition.
SuperJumpReviews they are 60 dollars because the switch is a home console
Hung Nguyen because it cost more make them.
Well, Nintendo never released their consoles or games in India, so can't say for sure.
.
But, since Switch is region locked, you can't play a game from NA region on an EU Switch console. That sucks.
Shubham Bora no it not switch region free I can play games from all regions.
Hello I am all new to this thank you to this channel! I lost my PSP Fat while travelling 7 years ago. i had it for 5 years. It always saddened me and I always craved for a handheld but I shifted to PC Gaming because of my peers. Now I bought a Ps Vita soon it will arrive and I am so happy I came across this channel! It seems you love the model very much and its hyping me in many ways :D
Glad I could help :) And sorry about your psp but trust me, you're gonna love your new vita!
im playing it now! its hacked with vitahomebrew, henkaku, enso, mai and many more 😍
Lucky you!
think you should have mentioned ps allstars as a comparison to smash bros because they have well known characters like dante and big daddy, good list though! I have most of those but I reallly want umvc3 and persona 4/5
I know!!! I completely forgot about that comparison. It would've been such a good one too. ugh, next time if I ever do another video like this I'll remember to bring those two games up.
I would absolutely love a vita 2. I don’t know what about it, but it’s a real joy
me too!
The vita community definetely needed this video!
Another great game that is on both systems is Dragon Quest Heroes 2 (alltough its only in japanese physically, you can download english fan-patched versions on the internet)
I made this video specifically for the vita community :) Spread the word!
Heroes 2 run like absolute dogshit on vita like almost every mousu that isn't dynasty warriora 8 and next. Not worth your time, even the switch version is bad.
You have some hidden gems right here going through your video backlog pretty awesome

@Charlie L. PKGJ?
@Charlie L. I prefer physical for Vita. It's easier to swap between a large library without worrying about space on the memory card.
You forgot Sonic & All the stars
opps
There are a few Switch games that flat out ARE on the Vita. The excellent Ys VIII and FATE Extella: The Umbral Star are great examples. The upcoming Caligula Effect Overdose look cool to you? Well, you can play the original Caligula Effect right now on Vita. Switch may have Disgaea 5, but no worries, Definitive versions of Disgaea 3 and 4 are both available Vita to scratch that SRPG itch.
Don't forget Rayman Legends. That's on both as well :)
Still enjoying the PSVITA in 2020. Espically when Covi going on. Enjoying your content @SuperJumpReviews
Thanks bruh, means a lot👍
Excellent video
Thanks andrew! hey we got the same name.
Digimon story cyber sleuth it's so goooodddd..... And digimon hacker's memory i love it too
There's Tales of Hearts R in the vita, Summon Knight as well.
And lots of Atelier games
I'll check them out sometime
Loved this. Two of my favorite gaming devices in one video 😃
haha, I tried to be fair in this video
9:58 They've got one racing title...
F-Zero is currently typing...
is F-Zero on the switch?
Very original video topic. I'm surprised you didn't mention Tales of Hearts R as a Vita equivalent to Vesperia.
Also without sounding like that guy, Cambridge is pronounced Caim-Bridge not Camm-bridge.
ugh, you had to be that guy, lol
I think i spend more time watching videos of people who love the Vita than actually playing the Vita...why? Cause I love it too. It has been a long relationship. Like when I had my game boy or snes.feels like forever.
I think it's because it's nice to hear other peoples opinions and thoughts on things that you enjoy :) I'm the same way with street fighter 5. I don't play as much but I watch other people play haha
Because vita games are better on youtube but trash in actual play lol
Great video! For the fighting genre where you were comparing Fighter Z, Dragon Ball Battle of Z would have made for an amazing alternative! Why have you not at least mentioned it?
You know I was about to but the thing is I wanted an actual 3 on 3 fighting game. Battle of Z is more of a brawler isn't it?
Yeah, it is. In terms of graphics and gameplay, it would have been able to at least hold its own xD
Mario Kart 8 on Switch = Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed on Vita
The most entertaining racing game on the system. I hope if you read this you give it a chance and like it.
I've played it and yes it's very good :) I also did a review on it years back. Check it out.

Wipeout 2048 or Sonic Allstars Transformed work. Cool idea for a video. My Vita is why I don't quite feel the need to pick up a switch yet.
At least one person agreed with me :)
Had a Switch, was fun for Smash and Zelda.. But sold it for a Vita. Best decision.
Welcome to the club 🙂
Bad decision, you traded a more powerful console with a bigger game library and better features for an outdated underpowered console with no games that costs 60 bucks
@@thebignacho Won't argue with you there. That's also true.

I have every Vita game available for free since it’s jailbroken. Downloads straight to the system.

The switch is excellent, but I wouldn’t trade my modded Vita for anything in the world. Each and everyday, I thank myself for picking up this magic rectangle. Go getcho self one of these things pronto and thank me later.
EDIT: ALSO, after reading all these other comments...
SONY, OPEN YOUR EYES!!! THE PEOPLE LOVE THE VITA!!! RELEASE ONE WITH UPDATED SPECS AND MICRO-SD CARD SLOT. 10/10 WILL BUY ONE ON THE SPOT AND INVEST STOCK IN THE COMPANY. That is all.
I wish someone from sony would visit this channel and just read the comments.
They aren't different, when I explain DBZ Fighterz i just say it's like marvel but anime!
LOL, I wanted to say that but I was afraid someone in the comments would tell me I was wrong and that they were different haha
I got a switch very recently but I'm hooked on my Vita still :3
Awesome!
Great overview! But strange why you didnt say about Sonic All-Stars vs. Mario Cart racing?)))
hehe, I can answer that one. The reason for that is because although I wanted to put in Sonic All stars which I think would've been a better choice I wanted a game that was only exclusive to ps vita which is why I chose Wipeout instead🙂
For tales of, I would say for vita it is Tales of hearts R, superb for vita
yeah, I didn't know about that game at the time, oh well, next time!
Your channel is amazing man! Want to buy a Ps Vita because of you! Lol
haha, better buy it soon. They're getting expensive.
Ahhh... I just recently bought Guacamelee physical version for PS4 for around 115 dollars so I'm outta money but I'll add this games to my list to buy them soon
No problem :)
You bought guacamelee for 115 dollars? Why?
It was coming to me from USA so the shipping cost me 65 dollars and game cost me 50 dollars
There's only 3800 units of physical version of Guacamelee on PS4.
I really like this game so I bought it

I'm calling bullshit. Switch is a lot better beside the fact the communication could be better.
@@fryguy1133 Switch is better mainly because its released in 2017 while Vita was released in 2011. Of course Switch would perform better. But the Vita is still a lot of fun to play
@@jeppyjep I switch has a way better line up when it comes to games.
Great video, thanks!

For all games : I was like the switch counterpart is slightly better as you avoided mentioning god of war and sonic and obvious ones except Killzone but then JRPG : my mind went will u go for this or that from vita and then you threw the ace. The game that kills the whole switch library for me in comparison. Best JRPG on any handheld ever.
agree!
And for this video , man you do know how to make videos :) I have not played P4G (for now) but I could putt YS8 Lacrimosa of Dana for the RPG section
cool, that would work too.
The Nintendo Switch is not a handheld, it's a hybrid.
sorry.
@@SuperJumpReviews Okay
Cesar Alvarez ehhh but it’s still handheld tho ...
Great video man but I won’t say people don’t need a Nintendo Switch because they would be missing out on some of the best games ever made
Best gunplay choreography even compared to a movie?
HOw do you beat that? haha
Now this video right here is rare with the Vita being an older system
👍
Mario Kart = Sonic $ Sega All Stars Racing = Mod Nation Racers
Thanks that's what everyone on here is tell me. I'll remember it for next time.
Did you hear about the new update that allows you to stream ps4 games to your ios devices?
@@SuperJumpReviews Really? Wouldn't that be the same as remote play? Because I know that remote play can work with other devices besides the Vita
i wouldnt play games on my phone, id rather have a dedicated device.
couldve said that sonic racing game
yeah, sorry, I forgot, next time.

That game is so beautiful though.
Keep up the great work.
ahhh, I wish I knew about about that hearts R game before hand. See, that's why I need you guys to keep me on my toes haha
Sonic is the match for mario
yeah but I wanted something that was exclusive to the vita. Cause I know Sonic racing was also on the 3ds.
Vita will still be around & most sought after even after ten years from now. You simply can't kill *GREATNESS*
Tell 'em!
Like the Panasonic 3dO, it was ahead of its time (and slightly over-priced). But, if you have a 3DO with a hand full of games now, you are a boss among collectors. So will it be with Vita. VIVA LA VITA!
Said almost half a decade after the thing got a terminal illness.
Wow good video.. I agree with you (and i have both systems)
me too :)
You didn't like the kirby port on nintendo switch?
Holy shit, how am I just now discovering this channel? XD Hell yeah, PS Vita gamers unite!

Tales of Hearts psvita was 10buks recently , just like vesperia definitive 😊 also has dual audio option 👍, haven't played b4😊very impressive 🎆
it looks cool, is it somehow related to tales of vesperia?
Tales of Hearts R only has japanese audio, and the amazing OP song from the japanese release gets replaced by some unimpressive other music due to copyright reasons. But other than that, a solid game. It's up there with Vesperia.

We are talking about portable mode, without procontrollers and TV mode
I know! I was so surprised when they announced mk11 for switch. I can't imagine how much they're gonna have to downscale on that game. They're probably gonna cancel it last minute like they did with mkx ps3 and xbox 360 version.

Man , do you have Playstation Tv , and if so , can you record it ? And if so , do you need some sort of program , plug in etc ?
You can record with the playstation tv. Just hook it up to your capture card. There's only one problem. Not all ps vita games will play on the playstation tv so you won't be able to record for that one. For example, Killzone Mercenary work on pstv but Uncharted Golden Abyss will not.
