Diane, I can’t fully describe how much you have helped me in my decluttering and downsizing. I lost my husband unexpectedly a few years ago. You’ve helped me take control of my large property. Due to your encouragement, I’m starting to adjust to the idea of relocating to a smaller space. If Diana of Denmark is planning to eventually move to an apartment , I can 😊 thank you for the inspiring videos.

That could've been me writing that Rayetta! I too am now thinking of relocating and downsizing after losing my husband almost 10 years ago. We can do this 😊
I relate to both commenters above💛. Diane, your work here on UA-cam has brought me joy, encouragement, and level-sets my approaches to routines, decision making, offering up my unneeded stuff, adorning my self, and advising my young adult children - for many years now. Since my hubby suddenly died 18 months ago, I have faced more decisions than ever. Your videos are like a quick upbeat chat with my dearest cousin. My children were both in Uni (Germany and California) when their dad died and I will keep their bedrooms as theirs perhaps for longer now, to minimize their “home” stress and adjusting. I’m planning to remain in my home for about 10 more years, then may move to a smaller apartment such as your son’s in Copenhagen (video a few years back). My mother (age 84) is about to move her 4th time since she was 65, however she is challenged to let go of belongings. I’m certain someday I’ll need to process her stuff, while grieving the loss of her. Your messaging and topics help me navigate my life events. Thank you!!!

I put my recycling out and wiped a kitchen cupboard door, remembering that anything is better than nothing - this mindset change has been helping enormously lately. Thanks so much, Diane, for the inspiration and encouragement! ❤
Those little creamers bring back such happy memories for me. I always used them with my children; I read a tip years ago that they are the perfect size to give to preschoolers who are learning to pour their own milk. If they spill it, there's not so much liquid to clean up, and the pitcher isn't too heavy for them to lift. So sweet!
Ok, confession time...I fell off the wagon for a few weeks. Getting back into the routine this afternoon!

Me too! We’ve had floors refinished, new floors put in, and some painting done. Everything is so dusty. I can’t wait to give this place a good clean. I also need to get back on the decluttering wagon.
55 psychology books that were talking to me for years asking me why I never read them… then 10 more professional and fiction books; then 14 large decorating books that I went through and realized their style wasn’t mine, and/or for a country place we will never have, because one decluttered place is enough for us!

Diane, how sad I am to tell you our local pool closed due to financial problems. So I bought a wetsuit, a flotation device and joined the blue tits to swim in our local river. I do hope the pool reopens as so many families of all ages use it! Had to share this as you inspired me to start swimming after work. ❤
I'm home schooling, every time we take a ten minute break I've been tidying up the room and putting things back where they belong in other parts of the house. So when we are finished working for the day the room just needs a quick vacuum and we are setup for the next day with a clean space. I sneak my zone cleaning in during our lunch break.
Inspirational! It seems the busier you are, the more you get done! I'm recently retired and sometimes it takes me all day to do nothing!

In a busy house with four big kids and working full time, i dont often find time for all of the missions, weekly home upkeep etc. what does keep things ticking is the afternoon routine of clean kitchen before dinner and daily laundry. Just wanted to encourage busy mothers of older kids going in many directions! Simple routines keep things in check, not perfect, but working!
Love the declutering motivation. I have been married almost thirty four years (next week) and several years ago, I cleaned out a lot of the wedding gifts I received. I had many beautiful pieces, but several still had tags on them after twenty-seven years of marriage. I finally donated them knowing that somebody else could benefit from them when they were just stored in a cabinet at my home.
I absolutely love your decluttering videos! Yesterday i gave my niece my toile dishes because i bought beautiful new bone china blue toile ones. She was thrilled and so was I! Keeping less and less but better stuff feels wonderful. Thank you Diane, I have been watching you since your baby step videos and I am so happy whenever you post. 🇨🇦
Bravo to you for decluttering some items we tend to keep just because we have had them forever. Sometimes those are the most difficult to let go of.

👍 I couldn’t find an emoji for a pat on the back, so this one will have to do, along with a RAH RAH RAH to you! Thank you for this Monday motivation. I have been getting lazy and unmotivated during the last few days, so I needed this to get back on track with at least doing a little on most days. I’m trying to get into a regular habit of going to bed early and getting up early, but still getting enough sleep, and it’s not easy because old habits die hard!

I did a mini garden spruce up. i had a plant that needed separating, it was root bound. and bought garden container at dollar store yesterday. i put my trowel, clippers and gloves in. took out a pair that were too big. and put a couple of gnomes at my front door. :) have a blessed day.
I said to my boy last time he was home to go around the house and see if there is anything he wants to take.... Grandpa's chairs only thing.... so I have no conscience about getting rid of stuff.

Our formal dining room is repurposed to a homeschool classroom where we keep our crafts, including the sewing supplies. I set items that need repair there and count taking care of them as part of the week's decluttering in Zone 1. Thanks for the cheerful inspiration. It's lovely to work with you cheering me on. :)
Thanks Diane, so inspiring to see you decluttering old wedding gifts that are no longer used or loved. Today I am sorting out gift wrap and ribbon, currently spread over different shelves in our lobby cupboard. I’m hoping to consolidate items into one container 😊
This week, I decluttered some old bowls from the kitchen, but I did replace them with some new ones. So, more of an exchange than a declutter, but I remember you saying at one point, “If something new comes in, something old goes out.” And I thank you for that! It definitely helps prevent clutter!

I didn’t think I had anything to declutter in these rooms but I just decluttered an old bottle of martini, some old coasters and a few CDs and knowing my basic colours just made decluttering my winter coats a breeze this time round. Thanks for the content Diane. 🎉

The coffee set is gorgeous! I agree there is not sense in holding on to it if you aren't going to use it. I'm sure someone else will be thrilled to have it. I went through a drawer in my main bathroom and found 5 things to declutter. It's not much but every little bit helps. Have a good week and I'll see you on Friday ❤

Diane, thanks for the inspiration! I got all the way through the weekly upkeep clean this morning, with my 2 year old granddaughter “helping”! She loves to put on the slipper mop cloths and do a little Pippi Longstocking when it’s time to mop.😂 I was under the weather last week and did very little cleaning, so it felt good to accomplish this today. My big declutter item is a SOFA; I bought a new one and the pick up got delayed, so today I’m rescheduling that! Rah rah rah

Even though I haven’t been around much lately, as I’ve been unwell and in hospital for three weeks, things here at home are still in an ok state. And I put that down to you Dianne, for helping me be so organised with my daily routines before I became unwell. I’m slowly getting better and very keen to get back to my routines, and to my zone cleaning once again, hopefully soon. Enjoy Spring and the warmer weather as we go into winter here in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
I must have got this declutter vibe through the ether yesterday! I am watching this morning (Tuesday) and I actually declutterred my kitchen dresser yesterday 😊. Today I’m going to declutter a wicker basket that’s been driving me mad every time I pass it. It’s got sheets I need to dye, cardboard I’ve collected for an art project, a plastic pear on a stick (don’t ask) and a horrible photo frame “I can’t throw away in case I want to DO something with it”😂.

I love the motivation I feel when I watch your videos.
Hmm. Let’s see. Well, first, I’m going to have a second cup of coffee for courage, and then I’ll clear the boards and my mind by hauling out all of the garbage and recycling that accumulated over the past week after I had oral surgery. (I’m fine, but I wasn’t really a ball of fire in the housekeeping derpartment last week.). Then on to Monday routine, and 10 minutes in the Zone. Decluttering will focus on the mantel, which is currently covered with a pile of … stuff. Full disclosure: these activities will be punctuated by coffee.

Thank you for the motivation! I decluttered the book shelf in the dining room this week! So much dust behind the books 😮 and the shelf had some of my partner’s old electronics and when I asked him where to put them it turned out they were broken and could go to the bin! Huge result!

I have started a little declutter project for the coming days to conquer my 🧦issues💪. I search for three pair of socks in my laundry basket and I declutter either three
wandering socks or a worn out pair 🧦🧦🧦 in the house 🏠😇 Every day. Works fabulous🇳🇱🙋
Even though I had a low energy week last week, I was able to accomplish quite a lot. My bedroom only took a few minutes to clean and 5 minutes energized me enough to clean and declutter when I felt up to it. Making progress on paper declutter right now.
I inherited quite a lot of glassware and have been repurposing it for decor. The glass you are donating for sweets reminds me of a cupcake stand that I turn into a tiered tray every Valentine's Day. It really chases away the winter blues.

Fabulous job decluttering Diane! On Saturday I cleaned up the utility room: cleaned/sprayed boot protector and put away all the winter boots for next winter with one pair donated as well as a slew of plant pots. Today just opened up one kitchen drawer and found 2 gadgets that I no longer use. Easy peasy! Thanks for the continued encouragement Diane! Have a great week ahead.

Because the weather was finally warm here we had to do some work in the garden. So only routines and a LOL. Tomorrow is flylady day because on wednesday we have a holiday in Austria and guests are coming over 😊

I got the sheets changed on our bed while you decluttered. So fun to see your treasures and how the cycle goes. You help me to see that it is ok if Im not ready to let something go, as well as remind me that someone else could be getting joy from something I'm not using... Your real life decluttering frees me from the extremes of the guilt from the decluttering book and the guilt from the Hallmark movie. Thanks for sharing your real life decisions.
Finally got to the bottom drawer in my kitchen where I keep food storage things. Only disposed of a few but such a good feeling to be able to see what I have now!

Hi, Diane, you really switch a duty to a treasure hunt! Amazing finds, especially the jug and plate from Luxemburg 🇱🇺 . I’ll start with dusting in the living room and put away some things I used for a birthday party 🎈. I’ve been tackling my mudroom. It feels great to whittle away the mess.
I am with you, Zones 5 and 1 -- my zone one I call "front of house" which starts from the sidewalk to porch, entryway in house, formal living room, dining room, what people see when they come into the home. I dug in deep into a couple of cupboards, which I have decluttered (last time) but wow, found more things to go and room to organize my table decor by month/season. Found baby silver spoon and fork (now 24 yo) so pulled those out and put into a kitchen drawer to use, make new memories and maybe pass along some day to the kid.
I’m always surprised at what I no longer want/need when I go through things after some time. Today is time for me to go on a quick pass through the kitchen!

I'm decluttering and cleaning in the living room today. I am always afraid you are decluttering lovely items you will regret letting go of!! I always watch thinking, "Oh Diane, keep that!" I don’t think I could ever be a minimalist, but I do have tons of clutter that I'm trying to clear out.

Hi Diane 🙂 Every time you say 'we don't wear shoes in the house in Denmark' I'm saying 'I don't wear shoes in the house in England!'. Would be weird to wear shoes inside, none of my friends do. Each time you say it I wonder if you were an indoor-shoe-wearer in the UK 😂😂

Some of them don't go over well so we have a collection of old liquor ingredients that have only been used once. I am sure they are not even good anymore. Out they go!
