Just about managed routines today, getting over flu one very small step at a time😢. Always cheered by your videos which kept me going in the kitchen today, emptying dishwasher and doing a lol. Small wins🎉
I managed to get most of my afternoon/evening routines done, dinner made, and now I've begun to declutter a large wall of cupboards that have not been touched in about six years. It's a bit of a job but I'm hoping to get another ten minutes worth tomorrow. And then maybe again on Thursday. Thanks for keeping on going... I really appreciate you're here so I can make some progress.
No, I can’t declutter our holiday house 😂… but honestly, it’s so minimalistic that I miss my kitchen. But I can live with it, there’s a good knife… and, believe it or not: TWO garlic presses!! So funny, what the companies think, tourists need in their kitchen…

It's funny how every time one does a new round more things leave the home. Suddenly a lot of our cabinets have at least got an empty or nearly empty shelf. I'm so proud of us. Thank you for the encouragement xxx

We realise that some things we kept, haven't been used or even thought of, and we can let those go.
I found a couple of extra peelers and a duplicate food scale to donate, some disposable trays to dispose of and a very reluctant husband, who wants to hold on to things even more than I do. I try to focus on areas that I don’t have to check with him about, but he shares the kitchen with me, and many of the gadgets were acquired by him in the first place. Any tips for helping him feel easier about releasing?
Diane I have watched you for a long time. You are such a blessing to so many of us. I love the way you break down the declutterring into one area or one box. Because of you I have become a regular at the local thrift store dropping things off. ❤️

I've been so unmotivated recently - the wind and rain feels never ending. But today I have progressed with a DIY project that's been hanging over me. Not decluttering, not cleaning, but a job off the to-do list. ✅
You kept me company as I was cleaning out the fridge, taking out food that was past its best, putting together a dinner of leftovers and wiping down the shelves. Thank you!
Thanks Diane, I like the idea of taking items to a more pleasant area, to sort them. I am really pleased that without prompting, after buying two new jackets, my husband went through his closet and found four to give away. Whoo hoo! 😊
Diane - you have changed how I manage my home and deal with time. Do I always follow the systems - no. But I am never drowning anymore. My bedroom is always reset before I start my day. The kitchen is cleared up daily. I have never been a sink shiner - but I do clean it when needed. I think any system needs to be fitted to the individual, and I use four weekly zones rather than the strict flylady divisions. Now I may have met my Waterloo. The area that is most in need of declutterring is the back room in the basement. It’s an unfinished area and the purpose should be the workshop - bench tools etc, and some organized storage. Right now though it is a holding zone for stacks of boxes - maybe 30 of them. Worse, it is boxes of things like photo albums including my mother’s albums, unsorted pictures, kids old school work, sports awards - memories. None of my usual approaches seem to work here. Each box is it own source of overwhelm.

Hi Diane! I love Bonne Maman jars, and keep them on hand. They were life saving when our power went out in November for 13 days. We popped a fat candle into 3 jars and used them to light our living room and kitchen. They were just the right size, and lasted a long time. We would put the lids on at night to keep the cats away from them. Since then, I have replaced the ones we used, and we have stored the candle jars for the next time we don't have power. Your vintage Tupperware brought back memories!
Today I’m in the solar eclipse path of totality. Either that or the fact that it’s Monday is making it hard for me to get motivated. I always appreciate your encouragement to get up and get going.

I am going to declutter my counters. I have over the month I have allowed things to gather like pulling out all the ingredients from the pantry for chili to see what I needed to shop for. And there they sit. There are also plants that need to be replanted just to name a couple.
Today I let go of some old and damaged baking pans! 💪🏻♻️ Thanks to the weekly decluttering! 💙

Just when I think I don't have anything left to declutter I found several items in the kitchen that will go to recycling and also some items to donate. Cleaned and organized under the sink and also the pots and pans drawers. Quite often after I declutter and organize an area I go back and admire how nice it looks. Love the necklace ❤
Thank you for last weeks idea to try non commital exercise found a you tube chair yoga, very calming and yet inspiring...I will return to it!

WooHoo Diane. I decluttered 2 bathroom cabinet shelves. Moved my cleaning brushes and supplies to a smaller tote as I just don’t use as many products as I used to. The larger tote got repurposed for garden tools and supplies - win:win. I purged one box of school supplies and materials I brought home upon retirement. Some will go to paper recycle,some to donate and keeping very little. I planted some seeds and some rooted cuttings from the kitchen shelf. This nice sunny day helps for sure. I’m making steady progress and it feels so good.
Did the freezer yesterday, and found a bag of cinnamon buns, Woohoo😅!

Hi, Diane , if you start to declutter, I always think: she CAN'T have something to declutter anymore… but there you are: you always find SOME things. The swaps are a help I guess. What kind of weather you have in Denmark, I can’t remember so much rain in this time! But so far I dipped every day into the sea, found 2 nice bathing 'bridges'. A kind of a hero feeling, sometimes people of my age or young men are joining me.🌊 🏊🏊♀🏊. I’m glad this time, we’ve a garbage bin for plastic, first time! Maybe, because we rented a 'normal house' , not in a holiday area. I like to recycle, too. And as almost every veggie is wrapped in plastic, I’ve a bad conscience to throw all that away. It’s so funny that maybe less than a couple of months ago I “decluttered” my kitchen cupboards………today I’ve gone through again and low and behold there’s another 4 items I’m taking to the charity shop! How did that happen 😂. Thank you, Diane ❤

Hello Diane, 🙋🇳🇱 I use the Bon Mama jars to prep easy breakfasts in busy weeks: few spoons of granola, soyayoghurt and some frozen fruit. Always ready to go. Further...about decluttering: today is a good day to declutter some shelfs in the cupboard under the stairs.

Decluttered a container, baked some brownies and gave the brownies and container to a neighbor/friend. Broke down and recycled some empty boxes. I find it funny that the more I declutter, the more things I want to find to declutter.
I decluttered a miscellaneous cabinet today in my kitchen. There was no rhyme or reason to it. Now I have glass serving/mixing bowls and their lids in there. Looks so much better! Thank you Diane. I love your top and that necklace by the way! Those bom memom (spelling?) jars are the best! I have some I have held onto and use.

Woo hoo, Diane, I can finally do my part and comment! I have been watching you on and off for years and was so excited to be simplifying my life with you, but I kept getting an error code whenever I tried to comment. I felt bad that I was not doing my part. Well, this week is nothing but simple, my son is getting married out of town this Saturday! I have been going through my canning jars in the basement, too, because my future DIL is using some of them for centerpieces at the reception. We are filling them with baby's breath and fairy lights. I have a dozen of the last one you decluttered- I could have used it:) Because of my routines, my house is in order, and I can concentrate on what I need to do. Thank you!

I was in the kitchen with you! But, I was making cookies for our church’s soup kitchen. I did declutter some food. Cut up a pineapple that needs to be used. Cut up and froze bananas before they went bad. I will look through my baking drawer as I put things away! Thank you Diane!

Our kitchen is quite small, so it is always a challenge to just keep the things we currently use and store everything else (like seasonal baking items, serving plates or extra dishes for when we have company) in the basement. Since I started to watch your videos regularly earlier this year I now actually tackled the flylady zone you are in for the first time and have been going through 3 drawers and decluttered lots of baking stuff and some kind of roasting bags that I never used. If it wasn't for your motivation I would have been putting this off 😅 Thanks for your encouragement!

I keep thinking that’s it on the declutter, then I find myself streamlining more and more. I am doing more as a result! Just sorted kitchen cupboards. Got rid of a tiny amount and made a space for a large homeless pan that has had to live on the hob top for 18 months!!! I’d never have thought I could make space 😀

I'm in survival mode which is doing only my routines and trying to keep the bare basics in place. My 87 yr old Dad is in hospital. Will return to decluttering when life settles down again. I think I should part with my garlic press too🤔

I was doing some baking this morning so I declutterred some flours and sugars that I no longer use. I have decided to only use recipes that use basic ingredients; all purpose flour, bread flour, white sugar, brown sugar and confectioner’s ( icing) sugar. Not only simplifying my baking supply inventory but also the recipes that I keep.

I had some free time over the weekend so I decluttered table linens. I watched while making lunch. Once I clean up lunch I'm going to move plants out of my kitchen. Not really decluttering but it's warm enough they can go outside. Then I can sweep and mop that area.

Didn’t find much this time, because I’ve done so well decluttering with you before…yay!!! Almost time to go outside with my eclipse glasses for a quick peek. Next eclipse here is 2079.
