    Although not mentioned, when setting up a grow area do not wear your street shoes in the tent. They can track bacteria, fungus, bugs, etc from outside. Put on a pair of clean socks of buy a cheap pair of flip flops to use only when in the grow area.

      Great advice! Thanks David, very true. When I use to grow in my bedroom I made the mistake of doing just that and I had to battle spider mites for the last 2 months of my grow.

    Beware, I failed to recieve all items in a timely manner. Read the site, things that are preorder items are not listed. The only thing listed as pre order was the ph meter. I still have not recieved coco, clip on fans, nutrients etc. Was told there was no supervisor to speak to as well. Check the BBB reviews before ordering and beware. I have called numerous times and have recieved the run around. The last time I asked to speak to a supervisor I was hung up on.

    For a double ended single light hood is it best to suck hot air through the tubular end of the light or exhaust across and out the tent?? Thanks for all you do one of the best in the UA-cam world. Thanks for your time and help in this matter. Happy Growing Day, Derek

    Exhaust fan is in the wrong spot. The fan is sucking air out, and you will get air/smell leaking through where the glass on the lights sit. By putting the exhaust fan right after the carbon filter, your blowing the air out. As the air passes through the light fixtures, any air that escapes will pass back into the room.

    • @anxietycircle5810

    Don't forget, you are most likely going to want to vent the heat out of your room if you are using the HID lighting. Those things get HOT !!!

    • @GrowAce

      it is preference, however heat rises so you may want your intake on the ground depending on your temperatures.

    • @garyalcorn3831

      GrowAce hi so I was correct then and your wrong ? Why would u vent straight onto the exhaust ?

    • @GrowAce
      @GrowAce  6 років тому +2

      Again, its all preference and relative to a specific grow. You my already have a cool tent, therefor only needing to cool your hood/light/upper half of your tent.

    You might want to check out ceramic metal halide lights. They use half the watts with half the heat and produce the most accurate copy of the sun. I got two Hydrofarm Phantoms. Good for veg and flower. So, you only need one light for the whole process.

    so oyur big problem is your pulling air through the light before the carbon so if any air leaks in light shades equals bad smells u should have the light on a sepreate air loop to the carbon filter

    No oscillating fans??

    • @GrowAce
      @GrowAce  6 років тому

      If you have alot of heat or humidity in your tent , osculating fans would help.

    • @anxietycircle5810
      @anxietycircle5810 4 роки тому

      Oscillating fans do not remove hear they circulate the air round more and give the plants a more natural environment replicating wind etc.. also the way the carbon filter has been setup is wrong it should be vented out of the tent not recirculating the same air back in other wise the whole use of the carbon filter is pointless lol hence why it’s called a filter.. the air that is been sucked out of the grow tent should be vented out somewhere to remove odor you should then have a separate fan without a filter sucking in fresh air from an outside grow room source and been brought directly into the top of the tent. Not the bottom as it could chill the pots. And never ever ever ever spray wd40 inside a grow area lol..

  • @anisematta2527
    @anisematta2527 7 років тому

    Hey sorry to mention i noticed you placed the carbon filter in the corner of the tent, one side of the filter is directly touching a wall would that not compact the filtration? Kind of feel placing the filter in the middle of the room or at least a position were there is 100% uninterrupted air filtration would always be better for the fan and filter and overall exhaust.

    • @illegalehumor
      @illegalehumor 7 років тому

      Carbon filter takes in air from all sides, so that's no problem, many have there setup like this, mine is abit different tho.

  • @ariagrayson

    so on the site ...it $1200 is that just for the tent or for everything in the picture???

    • @desertweasel6965
      @desertweasel6965 4 роки тому

      For that price im sure its everything. The filters and inline exhaust fans are pretty ineffective at stopping smell. Thats why you should build your own grow tent with poles and plastic and spend your money on separate filters and fans.

    Can someone explain why the end of the ducting just goes back into the tent to make a complete loop?... I thought you would want the duct exhausting somewhere outside the tent or better yet outside the property all together? Their is no fresh air entering with your method as far as I understand only circulating air

    • @GrowAce
      @GrowAce  6 років тому +2

      You are confusing the two line of ducting. 1 is for sucking out all the hot air. The other is an intake to bring in cool fresh air.

    whats the difference in setting the fan up before the light so it pushes the air through instead of pulling it? which is better? and is an intake fan a must? i have a 5x5 tent getting a 1000w light and im a little confused as to the the ventilation setup. thanks for the advice in advance!

    • @GrowAce
      @GrowAce  8 років тому +3

      Best practice is ensuring you pull air out of your grow tent instead of pushing it. Here's another video we did that helps explain it. Let me know if it clears things up for you: ua-cam.com/video/6JHBEG1x0n4/v-deo.html

    • @jasonlitson
      @jasonlitson 8 років тому

      Although pulling air is more efficient than pushing air; Everest Fernandez explains that you should push the air through the lights, so you can prolong the life of your fans. All that heat may be bad for your fans. I am not sure. Just wanted to post another point of view.

    • @sim672
      @sim672 8 років тому +1

      Jason Litson what I have since found out is that by installing the fan to suck air thru the filter and push through the air cooled light and out of the tent is that it creates positive pressure which prevents any unfiltered air from getting into the system via any potential air leaks which could cause oder in the exahaust! If that makes sense.

    • @jasonlitson
      @jasonlitson 8 років тому

      Yes, makes perfect sense, and this is exactly how I planned to set up my system. I changed it though, because in this setup it would be pulling all of my air conditioned air out of the room. So I use one fan pulling air from a closet with a simple AC filter on the inlet, that pushes air through my hood, and then out of the grow area. I use a second fan connected to my carbon filter, but does not exhaust, and also creates a negative pressure. I didn't want to spend the extra money on a second fan, but I also don't want to blow all my cooled air out of the room. In this way my AC kicks on for 1 minute about every 15 minutes or so.

      dont cheap out and combine lamp blower and tent vent blower into one. Please. Been there done that. Its the cheap skate route. The PROPER way is to use a blower (s) for the lamps as a SEPERATE closed loop system. The blower for this is hooked to the lamps timer. And use INSULATED ducting...trust me. For your tent ventilation...use its own blower/filter and duct HOOKED TO A COMBO HUMIDISTAT/THERMOSTAT. Again ...trust me. Get off your wallet and do it proper. Been there done that. You dont want moist smelly air passing through a filter and then through your lamps. Its the cheap skate ghetto way. Remember....lamps on thier own SEPERATE blower system (SUCKING OUT). And dont just dump it into the room the tent is in. Actually get rid of it completely. by blowing it outside. Same with tent venting exhaust system. Your gonna have to cut some holes and slap some flanges up somewhere. I replaced one of my basement windown with plywood and use a 6" hole saw bit. Its a must. Do it proper folks...trust me...the first time so your not battling problems in the middle of a crop. Read my post above on how to set it all up the correct way.

      @Nigel Kent ive got my own strain in at the min i crossed white russian with jack herer. Took me 5 years of backcrossing to get a stable strain with characteristic's of both the mother and father. The jack i used as a mother first go then just kept crossing and back crossing until i was getting similar plants from all the seeds. Ive never had the pleasure of trying star dog but ive heard its a nice strain. Good luck with your crop may the Ganja gods bless your green fingers and give you a bumper crop lol. Do you make any concentrates with your waste? Me and a friend have just invested in a closed loop extraction machine and a vaccum oven and the oil we're getting is 1st class. With our extraction machine it can use either butane or CO2 and we've just used CO2 upto now. Id definitely advise looking into how to process your waste because its surprising how much you can get just from the waste. From waste of 10 plants youre looking at about 25 to 30 grams of oil.

      Hello,
      to start we think 6 plants might be aiming high for that kind of tent, depending on what size you want them to reach. Depending on what king of light you want to run you could have several set ups.

    Sucking through air-cooled hoods always causes smell to be sucked in after the filter. You either need to blow through air-cooled hoods to create a pressure so no smell can get out.

    I don't understand why it needs a ventilation system? Plants can generate oxygen by themselves, isn't it?? Also, you can leave the tent opening with a small gap to get fresh air, isn't it. Thank you.

      Do not purchase anything from this company they are a scam! Here is the email i sent the company! They did the worst to me and robbed me for $350. This was my email to the company that will explain what i went through
      Hello Christian or whoever sees this! Growace is the worst company I have ever done any business with. This company should not be in operation with the way you guys treat customers. In January, I spent a total of $4,000 with you guys and it has been a complete disaster. My products took over a month to arrive, and when it did arrive, so many items were missing and I had to keep calling to have these items sent and even after that, it took another 2 weeks to get my oxygen pot commander. When i decided to set it up, nothing worked. I have been trying to get this piece of shit to start for over a month and it has not worked. I called you guys over 30 times in a month, all you guys did was give me a run around every fucking day. After a month with dealing with this, come to find out it was not receiving power. Instead of doing the right thing, you guys instructed me in an email to open the machine with a screw driver and I got electrocuted twice because this piece of shit is cheaply made and whoever put it together, did not plug the wires. How the fuck are you guys selling things that are not safe and properly put together? I am not an electrician and what you guys did was fucked up and I could have loss my life because of this. After carefully installing the wires, the machine finally started but it's not working properly. It fills the pots but it doesn't drain and i did everything correctly. I should not have to deal with this and its fucked up. I have never seen a company like this. I am tired of this and I will not go back and forth anymore for something that is under warranty, its your job to fix this, not my job. Growace is not a professional company at all! Growace is selling products with no instruction manuals and you guys tell people to go on a website to find the manual and the website doesn’t even exists. How are you guys selling products without instructions? On top of that you guys tell me to go look on UA-cam for the instructions and the instructions are not only incomplete but these are instructions for old machines that you guys don’t even sell anymore. At this point, I am fed up with being angry and frustrated and my plants are dying because of this and I am ready to pursue legal action against you guys for pain and suffering if this is not resolved by Monday during business hours.. Not only I will pursue legal actions, I will destroy the reputation of your company by reporting you guys to the Better Business Bureau, take you guys to small claims court, and I will put negative reviews on your website and will open up multiple UA-cam accounts to slender your company and ruin your sales opportunity and find every Growace video on UA-cam and comment on every videos to make sure that no one buys your products. The last company who did this to me almost shut down 7 years ago and had to pay me to remove my videos which ruined their sales.This is the worst experience I have ever had and I feel stupid to believe that because I spent so much money with Growace, they would actually treat me like a human being. Maybe you guys treat me like this because my voice sounds black and you guys are discriminating against me and treating me like a piece of shit.
