Hey guys. One thing that I always found helpful when I was struggling with panic attacks was to stop calling them panic attacks! I know it sounds silly but it actually makes a lot of sense when you think about it. What you’re going through is the fight or flight response, that’s it. If you’re telling yourself that you’re under attack, then of course you’re going to get nervous, that’s what the fight or flight response is for, for dealing with attacks and threats.
Instead, I used to think of them as an adrenaline rushes. A burst of energy that’s triggered because your subconscious mind is perceiving danger, even though there is none. I know it can sound silly but that wording has a huge effect on how you perceive your experience. After taking out the negative inference that the word attack brings, i changed my view of what I was experiencing. I told myself that people pay lots of money for this kind of rush. They jump of building, play extreme sports, chase tornados, whatever. The point is that once I took away a lot of the scariness of it, I actually learned to love that rush of juice and from that point on recovery came pretty quickly.
I hope that you guys found this useful. If you did, I keep a youtube channel where I share my advice and experience overcoming panic attacks. There are two main things that I focus on with my channel: specific, actionable advice that you can use in your day to day and creating hope that overcoming chronic panic attacks can be done. You’re welcome to check it out and best of luck!

I know what you mean, I used to get panic attacks all the time and then I realized I was getting them because I was scared of them. If there's no fear they occur less often and when it does happen it goes away quickly if you just accept it not fear it. Its weird how powerful our minds are. Glad your feeling better buddy

This is the ONLY true way out because you're permanently removing the fear of the panic attack as you have it, eventually U won't fear it anymore because you'll already know you can just use this method

This is honestly by far the best exercise I've found online for this, and I've tried many. I was shocked by how well it worked. Not only does it end an episode of anxiety fast, it also changes your entire outlook towards the sensations. It makes you feel as though you're in charge of it when its usually the other way around, which subsequently reduces the changes of another episode . Many thanks to uploader

I want to say that if you want to deal with panic attacks you ll have to change several things in your daily life! (it sounds hard but it worked for me) First of all you have to start doing a balanced life! For example if u eating too much eat less, if u smoking or drinking too much avoid it or keep doing it but try to balance it! If u spend the most of your day doing nothing and keep thinking about panic attacks try to do little things that makes you happy like washing your car or taking your dog for a walk! I think our biggest mistake is that we keep living in missery and thinking we are ''sick'' or something like that! But thats wrong, we are normal people! My opinion on how to defeat that great enemy is not to fight it but forget just like that, just wake up one day and its gone just like how it came from nothing from nowhere!

I had one that was like the panic attack you described. It was a life-changing moment for me because its intensity was so bad that it got me to think about where my life was at that point and to make some necessary changes. I've only had a small handful of panic attacks since, but they can be truly terrifying when they happen, even though I know that they most likely won't kill or hurt me.

Hi Zero, I suggest to watch this video over and over again, it does work the last panic attack I had started to come on pretty strong (you know what that is like) what I did was deep breath slow and tell myself it is okay to let it come on. What I notice is it subsided. This video does work, Also, if you drink coffee, this can bring on panic attacks even more

thing is it will not harm u, its just gonna feel like shit but that will certainly pass. Of course dont do what you are not ready for but if in facing it there is a chance to eliminate it and no real harm will come to you, its gotta be worth a shot. Just in your own time.

The first time i did this, i was absolutely terrified because i had gotten so used to suppressing it that my body had forgotten what a full on panic attack felt like. This is a much better way to get over a panic attack than trying to hide it and hope it goes away. This is so important, very helpful.

Good luck to you all, I know we can conquer this stuff!

You have to embrace the rush of energy and not run from it. I used to suffer from the absolute worst, chronic panic attacks. They literally ruined my life for years. Fortunately I did overcome them by learning to love the rush of adrenaline. Now I'm in grad school now for psyche and hope to help others going through what I once went through. I also put up videos on my channel where I try and offer advice and answer questions so feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or just want to talk.

Everyday, no matter where I am at, I will get dizzy and light headed, unable to concentrate, and kinda panicked. I can't drive for more than 5 minutes, I can't stay long in buildings especially with bright or florescent lighting, and I have to run outside, and sometimes it happens there. I'm never safe from myself, it's terrifying and it happens 10, 20, 30 sometimes more times a day, everyday. I'm here trying to understand it. I'll try to technique next time I have an episode and see if it helps.

Yes, absolutely. Mine starts out with increased heart-beat, then stomach pains and nausea. The mental "OMG I HATE THIS!!!" starts right after the physical symptoms. It seems to be an erratic cycle between my heart, stomach and brain that spins a web of anxiety and mental cloudiness that takes over until I manage to calm down. Such an awful disorder to have. :(

I usually don't have fast heartbeats, i have problems breathing normally, i can't breathe and my body demands more and more oxigen so in this case what should i do? Same of this example?
Sometimes i have pain on my left arm and i think i can have a stroke. It is difficult to stay calm and "ask my body for more "

I'm nearly 13. I haven't been diagnosed with anxiety ,because i haven't told anyone but my friend who didn't take me seriously, but i have had a panic attack. My rs teacher made me stand at the front of the class and read my work out, as i was too quiet from my desk, but i hadn't written anything so i made up a few things and i started to get really scared and worried because i thought that as i was reading everyone was judging me. I could here my heart beat without putting my hand to my chest and i felt like i was about to cry. No one even cared or noticed. When i went back to my desk i couldn't stop breathing heavily and my heart beat was still extremely fast and loud to me. It was the worst experience.

My panic attacks had gotten so bad that I couldn’t eat solid foods anymore through fear of choking... I couldn’t sleep because I was scared I’d stop breathing in my sleep and I couldn’t function because I was so exhausted from constantly panicking..... this one 4 minute video changed everything... if you really let it work and believe it can work it really does.... but allowing the panic to take over and saying cmon then hurry up, you are gaining control. By not fearing the panic attack, you do not panic... it changed my life thank you.

Wow. Listening to this video really made me think because it seems so counter-intuitive to actually demand more of the very thing that makes you feel so bad - panic attacks. But I learnt something here - by allowing the feelings to wash over you, and by not fighting those feelings, you actually release them from within you, and they lose the control they once had over you. To me (it might not seem much) this was an eye opener. Thank you

And imagine that panic attack as a black cloud thats “scary”, walk into it and notice how it does is scary, but NOT harmful or dangerous. Just uncomfortable. I watch this multiple times until I feel better. U actually, feel a lot more confident about panic attacks

This is so helpful. Thank you for helping so many people around the world!
I really realized that I fear from the fear itself, to have this sensation. But now I just let it go...I let my body to do whatever, and it's less intense.

Thank you for this video. I am less scared. I had one panic attack and now I have nonstop anxiety that it will happen again. But now I know not to fight it just let it come and accept it and they'll go away. Quit resisting. So happy to know I am not alone or crazy. Good luck to everyone else experiencing these, you will get trough it!

Ashwaghanda has helped me with panic attacks. Search for the root cause. In my case it was caused by metal toxicity, specifically mercury. I learnt mercury affected my adrenals resulting in these horrible episodes. I pray you find relieve soon. God bless.

This works. The technique is simple, as shown, but it is daunting to do the opposite to what one always has done i.e. try to fight or avoid the feelings.
I can only say it worked for me and it worked in seconds. I was totally desperate so maybe I got lucky with such an immediate turn-around, maybe others might have to give it a few goes before getting it. My experience was like a balloon deflating, with all the feelings of high anxiety just melting away into a calm I haven't felt in years

I've always dealt with anxiety to a degree, but after being put on new medication for unrelated reasons, I have been getting full blown panic attacks. This is good to know. Thank you so much.

Had a full on panic attack in the middle of a Board meeting when presenting. The most awful experience as I couldn’t hide anywhere. Had to ride it out live in front of an audience.

Ive gotten to the point where I just get angry every time I have an attack... because its so often and inconvenient. 4-7-8 breathing has been working miracles for me.

I'm prone to panic attacks. My very first one was on Mother's Day 2001. I remember waking up with a feeling of dread that morning, like something bad was going to happen. It got to the point where I was hyperventilating, crying uncontrollably, shaking, sweating, and when my husband (fiance at the time) and my friend tried to calm me, I turned and unintentionally slapped my friend in the face out of fear and panic. It was awful. I hope I NEVER experience another one ever again. :(

I did this yesterday before watching this video. I was at a clinical site and leaving like I would normally do would have consequences so I sat back and just let the terror run through. It was so hard, but this video is 100% correct. After 10 mins, and sweat dripping from my palms, i felt normal again, and relieved I didn't bail out. It's hard but a very rewarding feeling.

Breath normal or halfway between what your body wants and relaxed. Through the nose. Maybe try singing with some Jack Johnson. Once you've identified some triggers, its best to ignore them. Focusing and fearing the trigger may make it worse. You can stroke the back of your neck and or stroke your hair, this calms mammals. Think of puppies. A good simple meditation practice is: Breath in and feel happiness, breath out and feel peace. Its ok to smile during this. Or maybe its just gas. lol
Dune: Do not fear. Fear is the mind killer. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. :) :p

the problem with music is that it is distracting, you're not moving through it and fully acknowledging it. I found, accepting and giving in to it helps me, when I've really been upset. During the first stages of grief this can work. Accepting the rise of adrenaline. It's truly something you must experience before you can have any idea of how truly terrifying it is. I have had one full blown panic attack. The thing is, the feelings can be so strange, they can take on any form. You will get through it, if you're reading this feeling lost and helpless. Holding a pillow to your chest can help the hollow ache just beneath your heart. As time passes, you'll learn to recognize the symptoms. One of things which anxiety reminds me of, is to treat my self with more care and kindness. Treat your self like you would a friend, is a good analogy. :)

This is beautiful, this is what all the spirituality is telling us too, there is only one thing, this isnt success this is loosing :) we have been taught by our society that we always need to win. but no sometimes you need to surrender, you need to loose and loose again and feel the joy of loosing by not resisting what is.
