I had a friend in college who used to dye her hair all kinds of fun colors .. and she used to say "free your hair, and free your mind." :)

Got my hair cut Wednesday! Super short and it feels so damn good. I love how I look. I love how much more of myself I'm starting to look. I'm becoming me piece by piece.

Good thing you pointed out genetics when it comes to hair. As an Asian transman (Indonesian) I'm naturally smooth - as are pretty much all the men on both sides of the family. Compared to white people I have little body hair (I've been asked if I shave my legs for example, which is something I have never ever done in my life) and little facial hair. I'll never be able to grow a beard, and I am quite alright with that. Frankly, if I could it would probably freak me out. Do I feel less masculine or less of a man? Not at all.

I am dealing with this very issue right now in my exploration. It's fun! but trying to schedule hair to grow back is a little trcikier.

Question of Timeline: So when I realized I was Steffen I shaved my hair short, stopped shaving elsewhere, wore masculine clothes including underthings and a binder and started introducing myself as Steffen. This was all within a week, I was soooo ready!! I felt great and no one in the family or work said much about it. IS that to much to soon to be valid? However I think I had slowly been expressing against gender stereotypes even if I did not acknowledge my repressed struggles with gender for years.

yup...nair...maintenance a light touch with a fresh 5 bladed razor works for me! been going to Regis locally my wife's old stylist (she sadly has advanced dementia) waited 6 months then went in...I told him I'm gender fluid...showed him a picture...he told me he's gay great rappport. next visit in august..did have to have it cut a minimal amount for a wedding...have a sister who does not know..but it's already growing out well again. so it's going well.

hair is a big deal. People don't understand. I got it cut really short again, even though I don't like it really short. To try and prove I'm a guy I guess, but I think I'll just be myself and not feel I have to prove who I am.

It seems to me that hair with your personal hair than with hair on your head would be more likely at least in the beginning.

Your videos are so helpful! Im not sure if you have done a video on this before but I'm curious if you have preferred pronouns as you mentioned about feeling non binary. Another question what do i do about other trans guys around me competing they all seem to want to have the shortest hair the flattest chest the first on T i am just curious as to why this is a thing? Considering for me transition is for me and for me to become me! Although it is quite intimidating and kind of feeds my dysphoria?

I have PCOS what is your experience with this in relatiin to genderfuidness? The levels of hormones fluctuate and combo of male and female cause things to go wonky.

What about if someone is genderfluid or bigender, and some parts of them want long hair while others want short? I mean, I figure they'd have to just come to a compromise, somehow. But do you have any advice for such a situation?

Ry K I know it's been almost a year since you posted this but I am in the exact same situation. As a genderfluid/bigender person, I want to be able to express more masculine and also more feminine. I have sudden moments of wanting short hair really bad and then my feminine side kicks in and is all like "what? No! No way!" XD so yeah. I went for a simple short bob haircut. Reaches a bit under my chin. I find it to be a good compromise :) most of the time it feel like me. I can pull it into a tiny ponytail if I want or leave it down and messy. Hope this helps a bit ;)

Soo... I was wandering if dying your bodyhair darker could make it look like it was more/thicker. Do you know anyone who tried that?
...Maybe I'll try that myself at some point.

Viki Zachgo internet, great info there, and depending on which state, Medicaid will pay, or checking insurance companies, lots out there. But breast are probably easiest thing to do. But thinking you'd need testosterone, so boobs don't grow back? ¿ but internet offers get info on doctors.
