    I just got mine in and starting to set up. I took a drill bit larger than the screw slots. I drilled at the bottom of the slots to make a key hole shape in the slot. Be careful, you need to drill slowly. The drill bit can bind up, so go slow. Marked the wall where to predrill holes just a little smaller than the screws. I put the screws in, leaving them sticking out 1/2". Then held up inverter an slipped over screw head. Worked out great.

      I thought about doing this but wasn’t sure if it would void the warranty or anything like that. It would be great if they would add that key hole slot back to these like the older inverters. I’m glad it worked for you.

    Great to see the new stuff going up. Looking forward to seeing how you route your grid power into the XPs. As I recall you had a funky grid power set up like I do. 😬👍☀️⚡️

    I think you have put together a great system... Both of them was actually pretty nice. I've been into this as a hobby for awhile but I'm rarely home to get to mess with my equipment. Someday soon tho

      Thanks, @matthewknight5641! It's a super fun hobby. I'm almost sad that it's just about done, for now.

      @@EastTexasHomestead I've been into this stuff for 2 years now and spent 30 grand this year on components. Mostly on the 280k cells from 18650 battery store. I drive a semi truck about 27 days a month and I'm constantly ordering more stuff. I am kinda addicted to this solar battery inverter stuff for sure . I've built a couple systems now and what little time we are home we never need the grid. I built one system using an all in one inverter then added another 100 amp charge controller but this latest system I built i used a larger low frequency splitphase inverter and 3 victron charge controllers and a DC to DC charger to link my leaf battery to my lifepo4. Every time I think I'm done I end up buying some new shunt or more panels.. or upgrade the mc4s.. or cells.. it's always something but like you I think I'm about done and ready to move on to a new hobby. I'm thinking some kinda off grid rain catchment system will be my new money pit for awhile lol

    Changing out your EG4 6000EX low frequency, higher peak power, longer lived inverters for the 6000XP high frequency, lower peak power, shorter lived inverters was no upgrade in my opinion.

      So far, they are working better in every measurable way. Time will tell if they last longer.

    Pardon me if it sounds personal but did you buy these with your own money and if so what did you do with your old inverters?

    • @EastTexasHomestead
      @EastTexasHomestead  5 місяців тому

      I purchased the old ones with my own money and then I took advantage of the trade in offer from signature solar to get the new 6000XP inverters.

    Great Eric! Hmmm, you had 3 men at your property who could have helped and knocked that out. Have you tried to use the generator set up without the Chargevertor?

    • @EastTexasHomestead
      @EastTexasHomestead  8 місяців тому

      Haha 😂 Great point, Steve! I used a generator with the old inverters with and without the chargeverter. I just limited my charging current to half of what my generator could produce. That’s supposed to give a cleaner sign wave. Takes a lot longer too.

    Hey boss. These are just the calculations I needed. Thanks for the explanation! I’m building a larger electrical mobile unit out of an enclosed trailer I’ve converted to be powered by the 6000xp with 10.2kwh server no alternator charge tied. My biggest question is grounding the system in a mobile application with no grid tie. Is grounding to the frame fine because of wood blocks and rubber tires. Or do I need to tie the ground to a rod at every location. I’m worried times I’ll be around pavement only. Thanks again boss!!

    • @EastTexasHomestead
      @EastTexasHomestead  5 місяців тому +1

      Sounds like a really cool system! I honestly can’t answer your question on grounding because I’m still trying to wrap my head around all of it. It’s so complicated and taking it mobile is a whole other level that I haven’t dug into. I would suggest checking out the RV forums to see how they are grounding their units in RVs because that should be a super close parallel.

    I have the 2 of the SunGoldPower version of the 6000ex units running in parallel and the LED lights flicker slightly when on inverter (they didn't so much when I had a single unit). Also, every couple of days on solar, they kick off for about 15 seconds and restart. Or I might get a Bus Voltage too High error. So I am curious if you had those types of issues (especially the random restarts) with your 6000XP units. I saw you had issues with faults, but I don't really have that, maybe once every couple of months. I really want to get the 6000xp units for the quieter operation, lower consumption, and maybe less head without a giant transformer in there.

    • @EastTexasHomestead
      @EastTexasHomestead  7 місяців тому

      We had the random 15 second shutdowns after adding the 3rd inverter. The lights also flickered real bad. All of that has gone away with the 6000XPs.

      That's what happens when you buy low cost, Chinese made inverters. Why do you think they're so much cheaper to buy than American made heavy duty, low frequency, transformer based inverters?
