I met Phil Keoghan at Montreal International Airport waiting for luggage back in 2007. Was happy to chat with a fellow Kiwi, and even let me get my photo taken with him.
Trivia note: The U.S. game show The Amazing Race has been on for 36 Seasons, & they have been to New Zealand for 4 of them; 2, 5, 13, & 22 (which aired back in 2013).
I met Phil yesterday after he had lunch at our Bistro.. a friendly guy and he was happy to take a few photos. He also gave us big compliments on our food and said he will be coming back again soon.
As a Canadian, I can identify with the bullying issue. Once, when I was 11 or 12, when we were all rushing to get back in from recess, Timmy completely forgot to hold the door open for me. There were meetings, and some minor police involvement, but I got through it, and he's apparently adjusted well to life behind bars... So it all worked out. I doubt Phil's bullying was quite so intense, but c'mon... this isn't a contest. I feel for ya, man.
My husband grew up in Phil's Grandads home. I tried to get in contact with him years ago, we had a box of old photos but we since lost it all in a flood
How about interviewing one of our most outstanding kiwis-Stan Walker about his phenomenal song I Am that he wrote for the movie Origin (probably the best movie I have ever seen, surprised you haven't mentioned it especially in an election year) ❤
I would be the perfect VP for DJT! I'm more than 20 years younger. I'm an Irish American, a left leaning moderate. And a karateka! We would sweep the female vote, scoop a lot of the black vote, and satisfy a lot of Latino vote. I studied Spanish in college. I just hope he gets a VP candidate half as clever as our gal Kamala.:)
A Kiwi builder here on UA-cam (Scott Brown Carpentry) has a cracking episode on building his new deck. 😎 That'll give our international friends a chuckle 😃
He’s been away for a long time though. I remember Mike King interviewing him years ago and commenting on the American twang. Plus he didn’t spend his whole childhood here, I believe he grew up in the Caribbean and came to NZ later.

I love it when Stephen talks about us! Come back any time!
Phil interviewed my band on New Zealand television in 1991. He's gone a long way!

"Is there any Kiwi that people _don't_ like?"
Personally, I'm not too fond of Ray Comfort.

A few shitty kiwis
He has a net worth of $16 million.
1=6.0?
Not a real Kiwi. A real Kiwi pronounces "dead" the same as "did." Example: "Ee lost is id and now eez did."
Because he needs an American accent for his work.
@@figz1 Really? Hugh Laurie always interviewed with his native accent.
