Daniel Sloss started me on the road of being unapologetic for my beliefs. For that I am grateful!

(in reply to your reply in the other thread) it's not disrespectful to acknowledge limitations. Wisdom can grow out of understanding, and you've got to base your understanding on your own experience (instead of synthetic book learning) if you want to have credibility, sure, but the chances of ppl actually doing that in a coherent and useful way is very low.
Sharing our experiences (I'm not 50+, I'm 35) isn't generating wisdom, it's sharing our experiences, that's all. It's a valuable thing to do sometimes and can be cathartic but it's very rarely interesting. The slight glimpses of understanding we reach in good conversation isn't wisdom, its the begining of something that might become wisdom if you really develop the insights.
(I think you've successfully illustrated my point about young ppl by showing how many of them react to having their limitations pointed out to them, they react in petulant, self destructive ways. Young ppl are not wise)

Fantastic overview of relationship psychology 101. I’m over 40, happily married to someone that loves me implicitly, and I have no idea how I managed to get here. Like Daniel says, in today’s dating environment, I’d be taken out instantly by a sniper I didn’t even know was there.

We aren’t meant to be alone. Humans are meant to be with each other sustainably.

I do believe that human aren’t meant to be alone and we need to be surrounded by other people otherwise there can be consequences. However, I do not agree that “other people” = “love interest”, it can be friends or family. If you can find someone who fits your jigsaw perfectly and allows you to grow while reciprocate that blessing, congrats. If not and you’re putting up with their shits or vice versa, you’re essentially wasting at least 2 people’s time

... Haha, wallowing in the swamp of relationship. Quite a few spiritual teachers, including Frank fools Crow, have said it is best to not be in a romantic relationship, because it drains your time and energy for healing the whole,

Why are we listening to young ppl giving advice on this topic (or any topic to do with human relationships)? There is nothing of value a sub 50/60 year old has to say about this kind of stuff.

Ppl like Jung had interesting things to say about this stuff but they're rare ppl and it takes a tremendous amount of effort for them to express their wisdom and then for ppl to understood what they were trying to communicate.
