same problem, basically took everything i could out of the laptop, restarted it..screen came on then went black again as it was booting up, did the same thing twice same result...also when i turn my laptop on i can literally hear it power down, usually when i start its a constant noise..but it starts out constant and normal then kind of lowers, i think something just isnt being run

i have a acer 5738. i downloaded the latest bios, but i don't have a file with the extension .FD i only have .ROM and .WPH along with 2 applications within the DOS folder. which do i rename (if any) and do i need to copy all files to the bootable thumb drive?
one of the two applications is named ACERACDC and the other is named phlash16. both of the other files are named JV50134 but one has the .ROM extension and the other has the .WPH which ones do i put onto the usb drive? thanks

HI Kyle, this flashing method may not work for you, coz u don't have problem at bios and as ur pc is running and only at display u have problem. May be the inverter not suit ur lcd, r u sure the inverter is the same model according to ur lcd??

Hi dfutli, tell me first do u hear sound of windows starting ???? coz display problem and black screen problem are two diffident thing. Try with Vga cable to ur TV or additional monitor may be HDMI not working.

Move ur LCD if doing something different than u have some cable issue. may be connector or may be ur notebook become hot much, so much heat is bad for video card.

Bro tell me fine what you see in ur desply blinking cursor or its all dark now, coz they are two different things. if u see blinking cursor that means some how the windows sys file is missing so u have recover windows.

After extract if u find folders and in those folders if some file name as fkjhl.fd means extension is .fd rename it zg5ia32.fd and pút all files into bootable flash drive( check my video how to make a bootable flash drive) and flash it but before flashing do check ur notebook to an additional monitor via VGA cable & check my other video fixing same problem : )

HI Kyle, this flashing method may not work for you, coz u don't have problem at bios and as ur pc is running and only at display u have problem. May be the inverter not suit ur lcd, r u sure the inverter is the same model according to ur lcd??

Move ur LCD if doing something different than u have some cable issue. may be connector or may be ur notebook become hot much, so much heat is bad for video card.
