Same! I went to a Halloween wedding there and I have a bunch of photos of my husband and I dressed up in that tunnel that you can see as the paranormal investigator enters
I was so shocked. We filmed a short for Oats Studio there called Zygote. These snippets brought back memories. I wonder if I know the creators, ha ha.
I propose an alternative title for this vod, “Nick Nocturne actually got scared by this” that first gasp when he saw the clown at the end of the first tape caught me off guard XD

One thing that caught my attention while listening to the voicemails from Danny. He mentions an employee named Wyatt who might have interacted with Moore. Wyatt is a good employee when he decides to be around.
The friend that Henry was going to meet in the woods who was code named Bowser was named Wyatt. We heard Henry say something like "you better not be trying to scare me, Wyatt."

Someone else has probably said it already, but WGBH in Boston was the local PBS station. Annual fund drive and everything, no commercials selling products & services. Grew up in that area and didn't have cable. :)

Oh heyyyy someone decided to make a project based on the Diefenbunker (I think?). Looks like Bearbrook is a little east of Ottawa - the Diefenbunker is a little west. Been there once. It’s a bunker that was built in 1959-61 under PM Diefenbaker to house Canada’s government/military in the case of a nuclear strike. For what it’s worth, if anyone is in the region, it’s a museum and you can visit it! Hell they run escape room style escapes out of it, which would be wildly immersive, from my memory of the place.
Project seems really fun, pulled me right in. I love all the photos and locations, and I really yelled “oh yay someone did it!” when the old Global network sign off played 😊. Awesome.

17:03 - In regards to Starkwyn47's comment that rolls by here, as a 90's kid I can confirm that quite a few news stations (and non-news ones for that matter!) would use the word "global" when in reality they meant something more like "nationwide". It was just One Of Those Things you saw a lot of back in the day where you knew the station was using the wrong word but it wasn't worth the time and effort to get yourself worked up about it. 😅

They did SO good with the environments and the atmosphere of the videos. (We need a 'would' and 'nope' set of emotes of one with a raised hand and the other looking disapproving.)
I haven't experienced a northeastern fall (But Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost definitely makes me want to ngl) but we've lost the short transition to fall we used to have here in the south and I'm so sad for it.
I do DEARLY love when we have two different types of threats at the same time. Both horrifying in different ways.

That very first video was so effective it had me jumping at that twig just a second before the second laugh bruh, it got me with a damn branch TWICE.
Its never really a negative for me per se , but its always really funny hearing sounds sampled in projects that I recognize and know where theyre pulled from. Some of the monster screams and the green.txt command prompt sounds are kinda stock assets are stuff used from horror games I've seen/played and its really funny seeing them here used as part of a project. Similar vibe to hearing a mostly unedited plugin/sample in a song used as an instrument. Kinda pulls me out, but thats a nerd ass nitpick for me in an otherwise pretty cool project thats obviously campy and amazing for it.
My history teacher in 10th grade carved a turnip for Halloween! He brought into class and told us about the legends associated with the practice!

I haven't seen anyone else mention this yet, probably bc they're not as old as me and don't remember it lol, but with the whole Orchard Enterprises and the Jack O'Lantern logo I'm getting a heavy _Halloween 3: Season of the Witch_ vibe from it!
A quick plot summary a mask company is selling Jack O'Lantern masks that have microchips with pieces of Stonehenge that when activated by a TV broadcast release a deadly energy beam that kills the wearer and releasing bugs and snakes that would kill anyone around. The goal was to kill millions of ppl on Samhain aka Halloween to bring back Celtic Paganism.
@1:01:22 The white "lettering" on the trees looks more like sigils on a doorway of sorts, as if they were put there to prevent whatever is out there from going beyond that point. Which would make sense bc as soon as he crossed those sigils on the trees you could hear voices in the background. 😬

As for ol' Jack, I can't help but imagine stuffing a bunch of weed into his flaming maw. Partly because my mother once described strains of weed that smelled like burning autumn leaves. Though nowadays, locally-proliferated strains seem to smell like Stella Artois. Either would make it a fun time, and hopefully a gobful of ganja would mellow his marrow like the early Scary Movies.

My only real complaint with this is that I don't like that the Tangled Web video breaks the unfiction format. Don't get me wrong, it's very well made, but it's also clearly a short film, it's not at all sticking to the pretense that this is found footage at all. It's the only upload that breaks that trend, so I'm kind of disappointed the creator didn't stick to their guns on the premise.

My only issue is how much the camera just wobbles back and forth while walking. That aside this was pretty fun.
Man, that video with the guy interviewing the monster reminds me of an idea I had for a horror (or possibly horror-adjacent) series wherein workers of some kind of agency or organization investigate paranormal happenings. I was thinking it'd be found-footage style, with the footage being taken by the workers, to be used for their reports a la the SCP foundation. One episode idea I had in mind was one worker (who we've met before in the series) investigating a demon haunting, and when he gets there, the demon's still hanging around. However, instead of being scared, this guy is *annoyed* that the demon's fuckin around, making noise. He starts yelling at the demon and taunting it, until it rushes him and the footage stops. We don't see him again for a few episodes until finally he makes a sudden reappearance and explains that he fought the demon off pretty easy but it broke his camera and he had to wait for a replacement to come in before resuming duty. Again, he's more annoyed that the demon broke the camera than afraid that he got attacked.
Also, for extra fun flavor, why not base all the demons and critters on something that we don't see often in horror, like Mesopotamian mythology?

One thing I've noticed in a lot of analog horror series like this that is a total nitpick, but just bugs me so much... Unless they're pointing a camera at the tv screen to record the video, or have a mic active to talk over the video, which they never do... why would we hear the tape being inserted/VCR motors revving up? The actual VCR interface that shows on the screen is already such an effective, instant mental trigger for those of us that lived through the era to connect the video to how it's being presented that the weird "THIS IS ANALOG" tape sound nonsense at the start and end of each tape isn't really needed and just makes no sense. Again, total nitpick that I've seen come up again and again.

I think the programming code on the site is taken straight from hackertyper. Meaningless for the project, unless the author really wanted to incorporate a random linux kernel file into the ARG.
