Cutting some rose leaves! Today we are cutting the leaves for the roses on the band saw! Today is Day 178 of the Metal Relic video challenge! The script is mine, the voice is AI's.
We start out by tracing them on some 18 gauge sheet metal using a template. No need to count, I'm going to build these for inventory. We have an event coming up on the Fourth of July in Montrose so it's better to be prepared!
I cut them down to strips using our relic of a bandsaw. Then proceed to notch them out until the final cut which separates them from the strip. This seems to work the best for me.
Yesterday's experiment was a success as far as hiding the welds on the next version of the roses. There are a few changes to be made to the process, but overall, it will be better.
As far as the event goes, the vendors are setup on the Green near Monument Square in Montrose, PA. This is on the parade route and runs from 8am to 4pm. The parade features local businesses, classic cars, floats, bands and everything in between to celebrate the 4th. The celebration has been a part of the community for over 40 years and is looked forward to by many in the area year after year.
The next milestone for another rose giveaway is 5,000 followers on TikTok.
