    I'm really exited to finally visit Japan next week! As I already knew the 12 survival phrases I feel more confident after watching this video. And with the pronounciation training during this video, I hopefully sound less like an anime character. ':) Arigatou gozaimashita, Mochi-Sensei!

    In Japan now and these phrases are helping a lot! But now I am really inspired to become conversational for future visits. When I go home the study will start! Thank you sensei.

    5:23 I understood you were in Spain.
    Yes, calling the waiter attention here in Spain will probably get them show you an angry face.
    Normally, they know that you're seated, and you'll have to wait, because maybe there are other tables to attend or other stuff to do. Maybe, if you're in a hurry you could let them know (try to say it before being seated), but the most likely response is that you must wait or find another restaurant, which if you really don't want to wait and you haven't ordered anything yet, don't be afraid to leave.
    This doesn't happen to tourists, but also to locals.
    You simply go to a restaurant and wait. Nevertheless, most restaurants here in Spain are usually quick serving.
    Having said that, thank you for your videos sensei!!

    I was in Tokyo last week and can vouch for all of these phrases! Something I noticed, and started imitating was that everyone would elongate the final syllable of 'thank you' into "arigattogoziemaaaaaaaaaaaaas". I don't know if that's a Tokyo accent thing, or a downtrodden service worker thing.

    Thanks for video I been learning Japanese for 4.5 months by watching anime and added duolingo 2 months ago and definitely do feel that with the movie the last samurai tom cruise character being in captivity for 6 months being at a slightly below conversational level is very possible
    But yes I'm looking at visiting first time next September to try to avoid tourists and get my feet wet for first time

    • @mochirealjapanese3430
      @mochirealjapanese3430  6 місяців тому +2

      gozaimasu is honorific form of "desu", but you can also use it for arigatou and ohayou😊
