N5 and N4 were easy to understand, and I was able to get most of the meaning here, but some of the nuance escaped me, like 気味 "feeling (sick)" and I realized I somehow completely ignored the 九日 and my brain just went "some number of days" and didn't even bother trying to recall what number it actually is

I recommend lots of listening practice, do it like in this video, listen to something and when you hit a point you don't understand, finish the sentence/scene and then go back and listen to the part you didn't understand again but with subtitles on, paying attention to the audio and trying to understand it before going through it again without subtitles.
Uninterrupted passive listening can also be good, like when I go to bed I often put on a livestream or an audiobook in Japanese and just listen to it, you won't necessarily notice immediate results or 'learn' anything, per se, but it gets your ears familiar with the flow of the language and you slowly start understanding without having to actually think too much about it.

Constructs like "odaiji ni" "--gimi (Kimi)" or --Gachi", "metta ni" "hayatte iru rashii desu" "koe wo kakeru" etc. are interesting constructs, but VERY common in everyday Japanese speech. - Ok let's try N2.

Hey, maybe it would be a good idea to pin a comment correcting the phrase at 5:21, the translation is actually giving the opposite idea of what it should be giving. You are saying in that translation that when you were in your 30s you were going to more places, when actually you meant to write that sentence giving the idea that now, in your 30s, you are not going to many places to the extent that you did before turning 30, right? I know it was a silly mistake, but it may be worth to pin a comment correcting that, I think most people would figure this out by themselves though, I know you know this but you just overlooked it, so don't worry too much.

@@mochirealjapanese3430 Oh, although it does give the opposite meaning, it is a minor thing. I believe it happened because you put the "in my 30s" at the end and it probably happened because English and Japanese are inversed in structure, so because it came before in the original you put last in the translation. But in this case it would fix by simply putting this "in my 30s" in front as well just like Japanese but the rest inversed, as it already is, and finish with "as I used to" without anything after it. Like this: "In my 30s I haven't been able to go to as many places as I used to (before)". You can add this before to be more clear, but it would be optional since "used to" is about past already, right? 😅
Anyway, like I said, it is a minor thing and maybe you shouldn't worry or do anything about it. It was just an idea to you write a comment yourself and pin your own comment if you feel like. Probably most people wouldn't notice the mistake at all or read the pinned comment, but you may feel better having the correction posted to be completely precise regarding the equivalent translations. ^^~
