What an amazing property and garden. The water views are spectacular . Love all the different levels with the stone work. Exactly my look on a very tiny suburban scale. But rocks and levels is everything in a garden. I can imagine the hours it takes to create and maintain something like this . Just gorgeous!
Very pretty however you may want to rethink the location of the wisteria. Highly aggressive root system. In time it will sucker and run and pop up everywhere. It will never make it on that little trellis, it will rip it right down. I had one on a 6 foot wooden fence and it covered about 20 feet in width and grew upwards of 9 feet. Its not something you want to deal with a few years down the road, trust me. Wisteria gets it flowers before the leaves. The buds are not winter hardy in most areas with very cold winters. Mine rarely bloomed in zone 5. Silver foliage with the white flowers sounds like its snow in summer. I love mine. Vicki
Love this garden tour! You have such beautiful plants. Please tell me where you got your Chocolate Cherry Astilbe? I can't find it and I love it. Thanks
Thank you Sheila! I bought it at a garden center near my parents called Weesies. I’ve seen them at other independent garden centers near me, but rarely see them at big box stores.
Please tell me if the "pinks" you showed overwinted or were they planted in the spring I think they are also called dianthus. I'm thinking that if they overwinted without cover in zone 5 they would where I am in North Carolina
I couldnt tell what you were talking about that was so invasive Do you spell it hertunia Is it in the petunia Family Please tell me what is the name of the Hawthorne tree with the beautul blooms
Your garden is showing all the work you and your family has put into it. Love it.💕
What a beautiful, gorgeous garden. I'm in awe.

So pretty! Do you prune back your clematis? If so, at what point in the season?

My grandparents used to live in grand beach. Are you anywhere near there?
We actually are quite a bit north. I think that’s closer to Indiana and we’re probably three hours north of there
I take it you guys have rabbit problems since you have fences around the beds. I have rabbit problems also. Your garden is really pretty!
Thank you! We actually have deer problems- but I’ve dealt with rabbits in my city garden before and they can be awful!
