- Welcome to the May 2023 garden tour. I’ve been creating this garden from scratch since 2016. I love experimenting with different garden design ideas and watching the garden transform over the years.

I was so confused when i first saw this video posted thinking…..What?!? Flowers in early February?!? 😂
There's so many flowers that became to bloom in early February and middle too. In my garden its depends on if those seeds was overwinter outside or late summer early autumn sowed. The know ones like "cool flowers" or "hardy annuals" and other deciduous perennials. Second factor in my garden is winter rainfall and early highs temperatures late winter.
Some perennials salvia also start to bloom by February here. (Zone 9).

Thank you for sharing. It actually brought me to tears. I lost my mom last year to cancer and kinda let the garden go. I also sort of fell out of love with the garden in a sense. Seeing the beauty of your garden reminded me of mine and kinda sparked the love again. It's more than a hobby or an art; gardening is good for the soul as well. God bless. Thanks again.

Oh my... I am so very sorry to hear this, and I am grateful the beautiful garden brought you peace and inspiration.
I lost my baby sister, who was just 15 months younger than me, when we were just children. Three years later, I lost my precious mom to Leukemia.
Last year, my soulmate and beloved husband, was fighting metastasized cancer. For such a strong man, it was so unexpected after an initial morning doctor appointment, and afternoon rush to a specialized oncologist. We immediately learned, only a last ditch effort of treatment was our option. He's in remission, humbly and gratefully, and still recovering from treatment.
I realize everyone has their story, so I feel so much compassion for you. I pray these coming seasons bring you full peace and health, and a restored garden. 🙏✝️💜🪻🌿

Yes, it's all about the journey. That simple. You've come a long way! You're right, we gardeners want instant gratification and want to see what's in our minds...that perfect garden, or that perfect cottage garden, or a secret garden! A magical place like they show on so many of these videos. But it takes years and years. So for me, it's all about the journey. One garden at a time. Thanks for posting this in February. I am patiently waiting for warmer weather. Although I've been planting my seeds indoor. Oh and I bought the "Cool Flowers" book from Lisa Mason Ziegler. So many people have highly recommended the book. My goodness, if you move, I sure hope you don't take your garden a part. I would be so sad to leave that garden behind. It truly is beautiful!
Gardening saved me. Four years ago my life changed drastically… I sadly was diagnosed with CFS/ME. I took up gardening a year after my recovery & never stopped since. I’ve single handedly transformed my entire landscape into a mini suburb paradise. It only took 3 yrs to do it. So if I can do it anyone can too. Your garden style was one of my inspirations so thank you.🪴❤️

I agree about the Christophii alliums-they're my favorite. I wasn't sure of their growth habit for my garden but luckily I planted at the edges of a border so I can see them close up! Lovely video from last year & fun to see your vision being worked on.

Wonderful before and after, a beautiful reminder of how lovely May is in PA. I grow Allium christophii with lamb's ear because it emphasizes its silvery sheen, love this allium!

LOVE this video and appreciate the contrast between what was and what is. Thank you for bright colors in the brown winter. The schubertii vs christophii debate is also challenging on aesthetics alone. Christophii naturalizes much more easily and can be divided to rapidly increase display in my garden.

Hi Danielle, seeing your beautiful garden and the cut flower bouquets in the stand makes me excited to get back into my garden soon! My hellebores are just starting to show some color in zone 6a, so I know it won't be long before the spring bulbs start popping through the ground and I can see some color again! I enjoyed your garden tour, thanks for the reminder that the garden is a work in progress, and we should enjoy the journey. 😍

Cheers for the great video at the right time. I'm growing larkspur, catmint, and geums this year for the first time. It could be fun. I grew larkspur, lupins, and snapdragons from seed for the first time this winter - it has worked out well so far. Your larkspur video was a good motivation.

This morning my husband glanced at me watching & asked if you were my favorite gardening show & why. I said well, I've learned the most from your videos, from seed starting, to bulbs, bouquets & flower conditioning & what grows well & where. Then I thought a bit more & the most helpful knowledge for any gardener that you've taught me is: learn your limits & your climate's limits. Know how much is too much to reasonably take care of & know it well to grow it well. You've shown me many shortcuts to my own success as a home gardener, putting aside what doesn't work & eliminating energy drains. You've also shared & showed how to do it beautifully! I was asked to empty my garden of blooms last year for a dear friend's wedding. You helped me have the confidence & knowledge to do that. I find it hard to watch channels where the garden is weed-filled or unkempt. Yours is always a pleasure to stroll through, a testament to knowing one's limits! Thanks for all you do & the joy you & your garden brings to all of us!

Hi there, love all you videos. I had a question I was wondering how many bouquets you may have thrown away or maybe saved as dried flowers in the beginning of starting to sell bouquets, sometimes it gets a little discouraging. But I still love making them. Thanks
What are your stepping stones made of?
watch your videos all the time. I grow cut flowers also here in PA north of you. I was wondering if you need a sales tax license in P A to sell cut flowers. Since I cant do anything online, I have been calling so many phone numbers that Im exhausted already and thought of you to ask. Thank you so much if you can help me out. I had a greenhouse business for many years so I know the rules for that but I was told cut flowers are different.
how do you keep bunnies from eating all your beautiful flowers? I'm having a terrible time with them snacking.
