Hi! I'm a 15 year old, and I am also passionate about the cajon. I'm really glad that you make an effort to make videos because they really help :). I've been learning really well but kinda slowly because it's difficult to find out new techniques I can do with a simple instrument. I'm sure you know what I'm saying HAHA. Good luck and keep posting these vids!
Hey man this groove is awesome thanks! I've learned quite a few beats from your channel, but this one has been the quickest for me to pick up thanks to the great explanations! Keep it up
love using drum rudiments with cajon playing..gives plenty of groove texture..after a sela cajon asap..love them..maybe will ask..that..PLAY CAJON guy to send one...lol..love all your videos..you are a natural teacher and very good player..keep up the great work..cheers ROSS
Sweet! I've started in on slowing doing the finger rolls. it's much harder than it looks, even though I've always, rolled my fingers on countertops and such. But then, I've use three fingers, two takes much more control. Can you also alternate your four finger rolls, like Lmiddle/Rmiddle/l1/R1? At the beginning, this feels almost as reasonable and comfortable to me...
Cajon Groove Guide yes Ross that makes perfect sense. I come from drum set too,and it was Gordy Knutsons double stroke technique with sticks that led me to look at this, as you learn to do your double strokes with both hands together first to get your strength, and then you start delaying your week hand following your strong hand to create the roll. All that said, I am getting on to your way very well.
Hello Ross Your videos are really awesome very informative , I beginner player your videos help alot . I would really love to have live interactive session with you some time.
Hey, I started playing cajon this year and have been looking for youtube videos to learn from. Looks like I've struck gold! Thanks so much for putting all these together. Also, are you still in Japan? I'm in Yokohama if you're ever passing through and are up for doing lessons ^_^
Great 👍 It's been months playing my cajon. I've learned some of the beats but with finger roll it's not going good..!! I'm not good at the finger rolls with my left fingers. It sounds lower than my right...So If you can help me out with improving my left hand finger rolls
sir, another resourceful lesson... the exercises with the fingers enables a variety of new sounds and possibilities. Tks!
Thanks for these awesome lessons. Greets from Chile!
