I agree, that line had me loling. I'll be honest i;ve thought about calling a hcick baby girlll and as soon as the opportunity arises i will do so purely for laughs. This is not how i talk.
Eh. It felt like Partridge diluted for the masses. Stuff like the Alison sketches where it was the same thing every week with her undermining Alan were unfunny to start with and progressively got more and more tired as they dragged on the same joke and dare I say it, they completely under utilised Sidekick Simon, reducing him to a tech buffoon (again, one dimensional writing in evidence there) Some of the segments were funny but for the main part it was more miss than hit for me. Personally find the first series of Mid Morning Matters the best Partridge series - brilliantly scripted, which wasn’t really what this show was about.
@@andyc6542agree with everything you say there. I know a lot of people that enjoyed it but this one wasn’t for me. Tried it a few times but I just don’t really care for it. Oasthouse / big beacon / places of my lives etc - lovely stuff.
If you know how far away from Steve Coogan this is (in terms of his persona) you really begin to understand how method and invested in a fully-rounded performance this is. Incredible.
@@joshuajames1720 Wait, did you not get that they were playing fictional versions of themselves?? Are you the person who commiserated with Rob Brydon's wife about him having an affair? 🤣Priceless.
Because he desperately wanted to please her in their early relationship, but later he got obsessed with getting famous on the telly, and became quite the little narcissist. At least that's how I interpreted his autobiography.
@@DackxJaniels He definitely has narcissistic traits, if not outright NPD. Narcissists "love bomb" their partner in the early days, only to turn out very different after the honeymoon is over. Since we only have Alan's account of things, it's hard to say. We know he's a terrible father, though. Maybe Carol needs to write a tell all memoir too...
0:27 there`s Steve Coogan doing Alan partridge doing Rik Mayall doing (P)rick doing a Jack Nicholson in a very Cliff Richard way, and that is the thespian unleashed..
@@esquilax5563 I’ve seen all episodes multiple times, or at least believe I have, I went on abit of a partridge spree not too long ago. feel like I would’ve remembered this cus it’s some of the funniest stuff I’ve seen on this time😅😅
This is Ruddy Bloody Beautiful.... My French girlfriend doesn't like it though. She is mildly cretinous to be fair, I try not to let on that I know but she picks up on it now!
Hey baby girl is one of the best Partridge lines ever

omg ik right? comes out of nowhere, absolute comedy genius loll
@@ValChronification That's what partly makes it so funny.
No way ya big spastic your a mentalist
I call my girl baby girl because of this
"Try it without the accent,' "who me or her?"'. 😂🤣😂
That's the bit that got me as well!
“Riding that steel horse home to you…”
The posturing before ‘don’t overthink it’ is so funny. Killer timing!
1:32 😂 Tim Key can always make me laugh without saying a single word
His look at that point is absolutely on the money. Hilarious
‘Hey baby gurl’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and whats with that bizarre mid-western swagger 🤣🤣
The scoff at 1.37 and the glance at 1.42 are pure genius.
this is genius pure genius
How anyone can say this series isn't good i don't know! It's brilliant!!.... "Yeah, that felt good" ha ha

I can only watch this looking away. Glorious.
I like the fact that Alan is acting pretty expertly right up to the point when he does the accent.
And one of the funniest character acting scenes there is!
Sidekick Simon's face hahaha
He’s genius 😂
Simon got a job from Alan. He should show more respect.
Alan's facial expression at 0:59 is priceless.
It's brilliant isn't it.
''DON'T OVER THINK IT...''
Ok - yep....
Building up to a massive entrance then... nope 😁
Me or her?

Very Brucey

1:37 . Alan's improvising reaches its peak.
That's the Richard Gere technique. There's a bit about it in The Trip. You stare for a moment into the middle distance, then you kind of laugh.
"That felt good"! LOL
Hey baby girl
“me or her?” brilliant
Loved the Tommy Wiseau moment at 1:25
Oh hai mark
Series 2 of ‘This Time’ is liquid Partridge.
It's impressive when you can convincingly act as someone acting
My motorcyclin's important to me, you know that.
Best bit
“I didn’t mean the dinner”
0:27 is something I repeat in my day to day life quite regularly
When I first caught sight of the video title, I thought it said: 'Alan Partridge unleashes inner pain in drama therapy'. Which he did, in a mad way.
''Hey baby girl'' LOL
Excruciating...l love it like I like my two wheeled metal steed.
Haha he proper Wiliam Rikered that chair too! 😁
0:28 Alan channeling Rick from the Young Ones ha ha!
A scene within a scene within a scene.
I always find it interesting when actors are acting out bad acting
Love the way Simon looks at him 😐
Susannah trying to stop herself from laughing at 1:50 was priceless 😂
Without the accent..... Me or her 😂😂😂😂😂
I like the line ‘drop the accent’. ‘Me or her?’
"I didnt mean the dinner"
You’re going to have to stop going on at me!
That felt good
His movie was on netflix a few years ago. i remember the part a woman says Alan "he's puffed up like a robin"
The old I'm Alan Partridge series were iconic but the writing and performances on This Time are so much better.
and none of that canned laughter too!
Disagree. The older series were much more advanced humour wise. The series in the motel is a different league to recent stuff.
Contradicted yourself in the same sentence

Thanks to Alan, I can't stop greeting my daughter with 'Hey baby guuuurl' in an american drawl.
Simon’s face when he starts the American accent 😂
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT 💞

That's exactly how I fell thank you for explaining it

That is actually good acting
He’s that good I can’t watch from second hand embarrassment.
Theatre Of Cruelty at it's finest
I can't even watch it. He's very good, but it's like moments in the UK Office - my cringe response is too painful!!!

You can’t blame Alan for admiring Jenny. She’s absolutely gorgeous.

Its almost like a Partridgh/David Brent hybrid.
Cracks me up every time!
Brilliant
Every instantiation of Alan gets better and better. I want--nay, demand--a season 3.
Susannah Fielding is soooooo hot
She’s immense. She’s an 8, 9, or possibly even a 10 I’d say.
Yes lads , proper fit isn't she
His face just before he's told don't over think it ? Lovely stuff but I would of liked to see that scenario play out.
The comment I was looking for. Absurd, ridiculous, fantastic! 😂
Fantastic 😄
1:36 The Richard Gere technique.
Have a wonderful day everyone ❤
Cheers, you too
This here is what you call 'Acting without Acting'
Its more of a pamphlet
I can see why Alan's wife left him, but I can't see why she wanted to marry him in the first place.
It's in the autobiography 😂. The power of the BBC chat show made him a monster

I wish Steve had gone back and watched his early partridge before doing this show. He just acts differently to the original character imo.
