I spent time on channels that love this show to understand people that disagree with the obvious points u r making. ‘They’ actually DO see a plot and an arc and the traditional superhero elements interfere with the ‘real’ story being told. (Deep breath) This entire show was about Jen accepting that she has powers. That’s it. That’s the plot. The Meta stuff emphasized how she is not in control of her own narrative. She wants a normal (miserable) life and Hulk stuff keeps happening. She’s not a reluctant superhero. She is a reluctant member of the superhero genre. The more I explain this the angrier I get. But yeah, as Prof Hulk said, they see this episode and show as an “absolute win”.

I wonder up for how long they can conjure up enough money to fund all the shit they are doing coz well... it really really doesn't look good since Disney went on the woke bandwagon. They make the bulk of their money with their parks. Bob Cheapak lives up to his reputation so ever since the lockdowns he fired essential jobs, hence why the parks are dirty and littered, rides are broken and poorly maintained and the characters don't have to be in character anymore along with more wokefied stuff that ruined the experience. They hiked prices on their insane prices already, that amidst the first real competition as universal (or WB, can't remember) has opened a park in the neighborhood that is everything Disney is not. Their movies are also increasingly going south. Star Wars even proved that it lost it's entire audience that were fans but now indifferent. All other branches of Disney are as good as dead too. On top of that, they cooked the books already for years to make it seem Disney has far more money then it actually has, to which they bullied an accountant that went to the SEC with it so much that her husband committed suicide over it. It isn't even that the fourth wall breaks are so frequent. They just aren't even done right. It's not "funny inside jokes that make the character seem aware of the real world", It literally just the actor narrating hers and the writer's comments while looking dead at the camera the whole time like this is a reality show.
Now that She-Hulk is finished, it just makes me wonder just how bad Marvel would have to make their movies/shows in order to make them universally hated. There are people who enjoyed this show and if you enjoyed it, more power to you but as someone who thought that this show was a failure in terms of its quality (although I will say I didn’t think it was as bad as some people will say), it just makes me wonder how low Marvel would have to go to disappoint even their biggest defenders.

That’s the problem. No one can say or do anything to get them to not blindly defend a marvel product. There will always be some people who care more about surface level things like the Marvel name, the actors’ names, or representation than the actual quality of the product.

The people who ran this show (into the ground) are the ones that 15+ years ago made fun of those that were into comics and other nerdy stuff, and now they wanted a piece of that pie only once it became popular and mainstream. DC and Marvel fan, and I second that recommendation on Harley Quinn. Surprisingly good characterization for characters who are ostensibly parodying their comic selves. Just the idea of "Batman is just a little boy with parental abandonment issues" started being a joke about Bruce's immaturity and leveled up to set up a Bruce-centric subplot reflecting on a separate romantic subplot and RESOLVING BOTH FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ALL THE CHARACTERS INVOLVED (except maybe Frank). It's just so good.
THIS! People clown on DC so much just because their live actions movies aren't that good, but they have so many interesting and actually well-written animated shows and movies. And to be honest, I feel like the Justice League movie was nowhere near as horrendous as She-Hulk since it was at least entertaining.
This show failed to meet anyones expectations because it attempted to play as a sitcom. And the execution was so bad that the last episode was probably made the way it was to “get back” at the “critics”.

I thought the after credit scene was breaking the 4th wall too, but I think they meant Wong was watching a new tv show. Like how he was watching Sopranos earlier in the season.
Having Bruce intentionally give Jen his blood to save her and her being hateful towards him because of it would've been cool, and then a-bomb as a villain could've expanded on that. He could also hate Bruce for cursing him with an alter ego instead of letting him die in an accident, and Jen could see the reflection of how she is within Rudy.
Just a couple years ago, DC came out with "Harley Quinn," and it's one of my favorite animated shows in recent years. The leads are not just female. They are PEOPLE, with wants and needs and serious recurring flaws that guide their relationship troubles. Harley is loud and crass and insane, but she's also fairly honest, empathetic to other people including children, and is loyal enough to probably tank a magazine of bullets for the people she loves. But that loyalty is also shown to be unhealthy too because Ivy, in her efforts to step up as a villain, accidentally takes advantage. It's all HEARTFELT and FUNNY, and it is fucking GALAXIES ahead of whatever character writing went into the She-Hulk series. Women are not the problem. The problem is the wave of terrible writers and leadership in the entertainment industry who think people will slurp up any stupid show they hand us. Unfortunately, it is true for some of these defenders of that half-assed finale.
I stopped watching the show around episode 6, but these videos have allowed me to keep up with the series in the best way. I hope your channel goes far man🤞

why do the evil redditors talk about the heroes within the universe as if they were fictional characters? specifically with that line "lady thor is horible, i would say the same thing if she was a man" i know the writers are trying to shit on the fans for DARING to dislike something they like, but its clear they were more focused on making fun of people instead of searching for a way to integrate that aspect on the show while having it make sense at the same time. this isnt a show, this is a poor excuse for the writers to shit on whatever they dont like.

I can't help but assume that if a male hero did the whole rewrite the ending thing to bring back his female love interest because "a man has needs", and these feminists would condemn it as some kind of pro grape/male sexual violence metaphor. She literally played God in her own story and had him return for sex. Did he want to? Did he consent? Can he ever leave? If he does will she just make him come back, and forget he wanted to leave? The nightmare of what she did to daredevil would not be accepted, even as a joke, but the very writers who came up with it for she hulk. You know, for all intents and purposes, despite being this heaping mountain of tismic fuckery, this show is a fascinating insight into the mind of the writers. It feels like they listed just about every single greviance they ever had about anything and anyone. I can see some scenes (such as the therapy session in Episode 7, where instead of legit help and maybe some self-reflection, they're just boosting Jen's ego) happening to the writers. Whilst other feel like what they'd wish happened to them and how they think they'd react to it (being catcalled, being mansplained. Yes, I actually don't think for a second either of them happened to the women working on it). This show is simultaneously their therapy session, wish fullfilment and a power fantasy. Being simultaneously the victim and the girl-boss. Glorifying their lives, despite them being depressed because of them. The utter lack of self-awarness, constant deflections... It's something to behold.
Thank you for your videos, they were really great to watch ! We shouldn't just accept this decline of quality in entertainment. It is part of our culture, and if we let them use it as a no effort money printer, it won't stop... someone needs to say it !
I would like to also point out that Jen attempts to bash characters for their flaws at the end like daddy issues. This is literally Gao outing herself for being an incompetent writer and not understanding the basics of why you give characters flaws or just understanding relatability.

Why She-Hulk's meta-comedy sucks: I absolutely love meta-comedy. It's an incredibly unique and interesting form of comedy that can be used to tell a slew of humorous jokes. And because of that, and the fact that it was in the original source material, is why I don't have a problem with the meta-comedy in She-Hulk at a base element. But in execution, it falls flat. Unlike shows like TAWOG and Chowder, which use their meta-comedy to cleverly poke fun at both itself and the overall world, She-Hulk uses meta-comedy to either let Jen be obnoxious, lampshade the problems with the writing, or show how the show does nothing but indulge in cameos. It's an unfunny husk that misuses the format greatly.
I'm Glad that this Suffering is Over and even though I got Full of Anger and Disappointment from Last Week's Episode,Videos like These makes it Worth It,I just can't Believe Jessica Gao and the Rest Screwed Everything on Purpose and People like Them shouldn't make Comic Book Adaptations or Anything.

They treat there characters terrible. Emil has no motivation for transforming into the abomination again. He wants money for giving speeches even though he doesn't need money because his seven soulmates pay for everything. He trusts himself with the power of the abomination, but everyone else still sees him as the monster who destroyed Harlem. The writers could have used this to parallel She-Hulk's experience after a public outburst led to her being locked up and stripped of the right to use her power. Maybe Emil could be motivated by envy of Jen and Bruce who have the same destructive potential as him but are allowed to use their power openly. Todd as a Hulk could have been a good mirror for Jen because he has all the superficial characteristics she associated with heroism when she said she didn't want to be a hero in episode one. He's rich and a narcissist. By the end of her story she should embody real heroism as a counter to that.
It’s only a good bit of writing because all the writing before hand was so shit that when they finally say something that makes sense it seems good, but that good line was just tying up a bunch of bad writing.
Plot is the cause and effect of a story.... it is literally what drives any and all (good) stories. If you have a story without a plot, you just have a bunch of scenes that aren't related by cause and effect; essentially, just a random assortment. I suppose this could work in more experimental film art, but there isn't really a narrative without cause and effect; it just becomes a list of unrelated events. The fact that the writers of a 'big' Marvel TV show don't understand what plot is is actually insane.
Abomination isn’t even going through anything close to She-Hulk’s situation. Abomination hulked out and murdered special forces troopers and civilians. She-Hulk freaked out, destroyed a television, and assaulted a criminal. Not even close to the same 😂
Did no one else notice how they completely stole the Kevin shtick from Grant Morrison's Animal Man run? Towards the end of Animal Man, the character meets Grant Morrison in his home and the two have a lengthy dialogue about comic book characters, the incessant need for comic books to be dark and realistic, that characters are murdered in books to make the plot seem more edgy? And then Grant Morrison says you can have a happy ending in comics and still have a good story and he brings Animal Man's family, who had been murdered a couple of issues earlier, back from the dead. They just tweaked that s"@t and called it fourth wall breaking ingenious writing. Smh

I thought the after credit scene was breaking the 4th wall too, but I think they meant Wong was watching a new tv show. Like how he was watching Sopranos earlier in the season.
Having Bruce intentionally give Jen his blood to save her and her being hateful towards him because of it would've been cool, and then a-bomb as a villain could've expanded on that. He could also hate Bruce for cursing him with an alter ego instead of letting him die in an accident, and Jen could see the reflection of how she is within Rudy.
I heard someone say on the train the other day they think that she hulk was a better tv show then breaking bad I think I passed out from confusion

The ending was so much meta and "" "" self-aware "" "" that it was pitiful and painful
Just a couple years ago, DC came out with "Harley Quinn," and it's one of my favorite animated shows in recent years. The leads are not just female. They are PEOPLE, with wants and needs and serious recurring flaws that guide their relationship troubles. Harley is loud and crass and insane, but she's also fairly honest, empathetic to other people including children, and is loyal enough to probably tank a magazine of bullets for the people she loves. But that loyalty is also shown to be unhealthy too because Ivy, in her efforts to step up as a villain, accidentally takes advantage. It's all HEARTFELT and FUNNY, and it is fucking GALAXIES ahead of whatever character writing went into the She-Hulk series.
Women are not the problem. The problem is the wave of terrible writers and leadership in the entertainment industry who think people will slurp up any stupid show they hand us.
Unfortunately, it is true for some of these defenders of that half-assed finale.
Harley Quinn was a trash show and if you think that's actually good writing your barely any better than the audience of this show

why do the evil redditors talk about the heroes within the universe as if they were fictional characters? specifically with that line "lady thor is horible, i would say the same thing if she was a man" i know the writers are trying to shit on the fans for DARING to dislike something they like, but its clear they were more focused on making fun of people instead of searching for a way to integrate that aspect on the show while having it make sense at the same time. this isnt a show, this is a poor excuse for the writers to shit on whatever they dont like.

I can't help but assume that if a male hero did the whole rewrite the ending thing to bring back his female love interest because "a man has needs", and these feminists would condemn it as some kind of pro grape/male sexual violence metaphor. She literally played God in her own story and had him return for sex. Did he want to? Did he consent? Can he ever leave? If he does will she just make him come back, and forget he wanted to leave? The nightmare of what she did to daredevil would not be accepted, even as a joke, but the very writers who came up with it for she hulk. But as with any feminist idea, there is nothing but double standards and zero consistency.

You know, for all intents and purposes, despite being this heaping mountain of tismic fuckery, this show is a fascinating insight into the mind of the writers. It feels like they listed just about every single greviance they ever had about anything and anyone. I can see some scenes (such as the therapy session in Episode 7, where instead of legit help and maybe some self-reflection, they're just boosting Jen's ego) happening to the writers. Whilst other feel like what they'd wish happened to them and how they think they'd react to it (being catcalled, being mansplained. Yes, I actually don't think for a second either of them happened to the women working on it). This show is simultaneously their therapy session, wish fullfilment and a power fantasy. Being simultaneously the victim and the girl-boss. Glorifying their lives, despite them being depressed because of them. The utter lack of self-awarness, constant deflections... It's something to behold.

Why She-Hulk's meta-comedy sucks:
I absolutely love meta-comedy. It's an incredibly unique and interesting form of comedy that can be used to tell a slew of humorous jokes. And because of that, and the fact that it was in the original source material, is why I don't have a problem with the meta-comedy in She-Hulk at a base element. But in execution, it falls flat. Unlike shows like TAWOG and Chowder, which use their meta-comedy to cleverly poke fun at both itself and the overall world, She-Hulk uses meta-comedy to either let Jen be obnoxious, lampshade the problems with the writing, or show how the show does nothing but indulge in cameos. It's an unfunny husk that misuses the format greatly.

You know what's funny? From what I know of She-Hulk, if comic She-Hulk (CSH) met show She-Hulk (SSH), CSH would call SSH a bitch and punch her before explaining why she, CSH, loves being a Hulk and telling SSH to get the stick out of her ass.

After watching this episode, your mind will be for ever broken in the worst way possible.
They treat there characters terrible. Emil has no motivation for transforming into the abomination again. He wants money for giving speeches even though he doesn't need money because his seven soulmates pay for everything. He trusts himself with the power of the abomination, but everyone else still sees him as the monster who destroyed Harlem. The writers could have used this to parallel She-Hulk's experience after a public outburst led to her being locked up and stripped of the right to use her power. Maybe Emil could be motivated by envy of Jen and Bruce who have the same destructive potential as him but are allowed to use their power openly. Todd as a Hulk could have been a good mirror for Jen because he has all the superficial characteristics she associated with heroism when she said she didn't want to be a hero in episode one. He's rich and a narcissist. By the end of her story she should embody real heroism as a counter to that.
It’s only a good bit of writing because all the writing before hand was so shit that when they finally say something that makes sense it seems good, but that good line was just tying up a bunch of bad writing.

Plot is the cause and effect of a story.... it is literally what drives any and all (good) stories. If you have a story without a plot, you just have a bunch of scenes that aren't related by cause and effect; essentially, just a random assortment. I suppose this could work in more experimental film art, but there isn't really a narrative without cause and effect; it just becomes a list of unrelated events. The fact that the writers of a 'big' Marvel TV show don't understand what plot is is actually insane.

Abomination isn’t even going through anything close to She-Hulk’s situation. Abomination hulked out and murdered special forces troopers and civilians. She-Hulk freaked out, destroyed a television, and assaulted a criminal. Not even close to the same 😂

Did no one else notice how they completely stole the Kevin shtick from Grant Morrison's Animal Man run? Towards the end of Animal Man, the character meets Grant Morrison in his home and the two have a lengthy dialogue about comic book characters, the incessant need for comic books to be dark and realistic, that characters are murdered in books to make the plot seem more edgy? And then Grant Morrison says you can have a happy ending in comics and still have a good story and he brings Animal Man's family, who had been murdered a couple of issues earlier, back from the dead. They just tweaked that s"@t and called it fourth wall breaking ingenious writing. Smh
