I have to disagree with you on the hands Sir :) The syringe hands actually let you see the numbers rather than blocking them so it makes the watch easier to read at a glance for both the 12 and 24 hour markers as well as the 1-12 markers for the minutes (because the reality is knowing the closest 5 min marker is often all we need to know) I do agree however that having a bracelet option is nice.
I have the same problem with short hands, especially the seconds hands, used to have a Bambino and really loved its dial, but that short seconds hand truly bothered me, so I ended up selling it to a friend, and now he wears it on a daily basis, so it was a win-win.
I think the ideal is to buy the model with a screwed crown and solar quartz, which is much more resistant, because that Seagull ST16 movement is very basic and of low quality, I think.
I believe the movement is a 17 jewel Seagull movement (not exactly sure what the movement number is). This is a pretty solid movement for this price point.
Definitely improvements, but like you said, the movement would be the main weakness. Can we even get these movements serviced or changed out if necessary? I’d love to see a Miyota movement in there & pay, what, maybe another $35?
Hello Josh. I agree with you that the changes are indeed improvements. This said, the huge negative for me is the unknown Chinese movement. I much rather see any Japanese movement used in these watches. Thank you for sharing my friend 👍
Beautiful watch. Would really be perfect with a japanese movement and a higher quality bracelet. Like that it sadly is way too expensive IMO, especially the MSRP.
Thanks. So really comes down to just the dial and hands changed? Not looking at band/bracelet or case style (color or polish etc) since it looks to be the same case.
Definitely, for me, this watch is beautiful and I think the price is also good, however the fact that it comes with a Chinese caliber is inexcusable. I would have preferred it to cost a little more and come with a more reliable movement. A Seiko NH35 or a Miyota 821. In short, I wouldn't buy it. Thanks for the video.
Chinese build with American pricing. Looks good. I wonder about the power reserve. I agree with your assessment of movement quality. Plain sapphire or Anti Reflection? Overall good review though
you were saying about miyota hand wind movement, do you know which one would be a good fit? i was on their site and did not see any hand wind movement. only automatic. any input would be appreciated.
@@TheTownWatch i saw from a watch movement site that they may have discontinued the self winding movement... too bad.. you have any suggestions for another brand of self winding movement?
I almost bought the 36mm Timex mk1, but that cheap movement made me pass. Too many negative reviews. Baffled me how Timex won’t switch to Miyota for $20 more and just charge a little extra.
No es desconocido es Seagull de la serie st16 ,muy simple ,se suele utilizar en carátulas esqueletizadas y es un movimiento básico y económico, no se si duración, me da que es el más barato que tiene Seagull . It is not unknown that it is Seagull from the st16 series, very simple, it is usually used in skeletonized dials and it is a basic and economical movement, I don't know if it lasts, it seems to me that it is the cheapest that Seagull has

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
The handset on the first version killed it. Glad to see the upgrade.
Thanks for watching Alton!
I like a lot of what Timex is doing..I agree the newer model is an improvement. Also agree a better movement would be nice
Thanks for watching my friend!

If that’s the case, does it have a stop mechanism in order to prevent overwinding?
@@cookiemonstahmetal I've been doing the standard 30 winds on the days I wear it. I've had no overwinding issues.

I just bought this lil guy. (The black dial) feels substantial. The bracelet feels the part.

Thanks Felo!
Very informative. You saved me $160 (the older model is on special).
Thanks for watching! Glad to help!
Yes, the changes were definite improvements.
Thanks for watching Jeffery!
just grabbed one for $95.00 mechanical 😊🎉
Awesome!!

Basically. Thanks for watching!
Good video 👍 Josh, love the looks of this Timex, an ideal daily beater.
Thanks for watching!
If this were made with a 42mm case it would be my dream watch.
Thanks Josh
I still believe the Hamilton Khaki Field is the best watch out there for the price .
Those are great!
Hi, how long does the charge last after winding it up?
Great question! I'm not sure exactly. Thanks for watching!
Thanks again for another great review. I have to say (in my opinion) that's a lot of money for what's essentially quite a cheap watch..🤔
Thanks for watching!
I just want to know is how long is the power reserve
how often do you have to wind the watch?
Once a day should suffice, thanks for watching.
Not to bad! I like the hands on the other one more but they are too short. Timex has been making killer watches lately.
Thanks for watching!
If they had the old one with a black dial I would choose that one.
Thanks for watching!
I picked this one up and put it on a black Barton silicon strap with a gun metal buckle. Love it.
That's awesome! Thanks for watching!
The movement is a seagull, a very reliable and accurate movement, it is an eta clone.
how many hours does the movement work?
That's a good question! Sorry I'm not sure! Thanks for watching!
@@TheTownWatch I bought it and checked it, the movement lasts about 44 and a half hours if you are interested to know 👍🏻
@@kaen7632It has sapphire crystal glass or Mineral glass bro ?

Yes. This movement hacks. Thanks for watching!
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the power reserve sorry. I'm not sure about AR coating on the crystal either sorry. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching and for the question. I know I saw some hand wind only miyota movements but I cannot recall what they were. I'm sorry,
@@TheTownWatch i saw from a watch movement site that they may have discontinued the self winding movement... too bad.. you have any suggestions for another brand of self winding movement?
Is it possible to buy a Movement and install it in this housing? It’s a nice dial and housing.
I'm not sure maybe. Thanks for watching!
Is that bracelet replaceable with a leather one? I don't like bracelets.
Yes you can change out the bracelet. Thanks for watching!
Should've made this in a stainless steel. That coating is going to wear off and make it look busted in a couple months.

It would be nice if they put Miyotas here, they use them in other watches. Thanks for watching!
I got the MK1 for like $80 for my fiance, and she loves it. If you can get it on sale, I'd say go for it. Design wise, it's a beautiful watch.

it is a lot better but the movement kills it.

Chinese movement? Come on Timex

That tiny movement is sad

What she said...🤣🤣
Poor Chinese movement watch instead i bought a 30 dollar china mech watch
